Chuck the Boxer’s ecstatic canine greeting of his soldier owner who has returned home from eight months of war is warming hearts across the internet as the youtube video goes viral.
The video has garnered over two million views in the week since it was posted on March 22.
It all starts out with the furry friend in the back of a pick-up truck, which appears to be in a parking lot in Germany.
The soldier’s wife says the words “daddy’s home.” Like a runner who hears the starter pistol at the beginning of a race, Chuck leaps into a full sprint to tackle his owner with a barrage of licks and playful hugs.
Chuck the Boxer becomes so excited, he knocks off his owner’s sunglasses and almost pushes the soldier onto the ground to cover him with even more loving licks.
Watch the heart-warming youtube video below for a poignant reminder of why we call dogs “man’s best friend”:
Surprisingly, this is not Chuck the Boxer’s first brush with internet celebrity. He was a canine a viral video hit last year, when he welcomed home his owner in February 2011.
In that YouTube clip, a skinnier, puppy-aged Chuck slips around on the wooden floor of his home to give his master the warmest greeting possible.

Posted on March 31, 2012 at 1:52amThe brings tears to my eyes, but our dogs act like that every night when my wife comes home. The problem is these men don’t need to be deployed where they are, it’s pointless.

Posted on March 31, 2012 at 3:56amPets aren’t “pets”. They are family. And it doesn’t matter if you are gone weeks, months, or years…They will remember you and give you the greeting like this defender of America has received. God bless them.

Did you know that the Prophet Muhammad ordered all dogs be killed? When the people were so outraged he got another “revelation” that only black dogs should be killed, but he said no one should own a pet dog. They should only be used for guarding or sheep herder.

Posted on March 31, 2012 at 2:28pmWe have a Chow/Shepherd mix. She is like that every time we come home. It is a delight.
We had to train her to sit and wait for when mama comes in the house because she might knock mama down. LOL She is the best and we love her much.
Welcome home and thanks for defending us all.

Posted on March 31, 2012 at 11:59pmDogs are great and I have a real good one too! But do not confuse this loyalty and affection for being better than a human. Never put animals on par with humans!
Example: Your a stranger and you come upon a man drowning in a lake and a dog is also in the lake struggling. Which one do you save? Dog or man?
Think about it! When asked this question, most young children say save the dog first.

Its better than cats, that’s for sure….
If it had been a cat, it would have walked up, sniffed, then walked into the kitchen, with that “Glad you’re home. Now feed your master or your new plant in the corner gets it.”

Posted on March 30, 2012 at 11:46pmNothing quite like the greeting a dog gives when its master or mistress comes home – usually. My terrier gave me a look right before noon when I got home of, “you deserted me to go have fun, so you can suffer for it now!” He’s usually a bit more animated, but not like Chuck is. Of course I’ve never been gone for 8 months either.

Did you know that the false prophet Muhammad said that all dogs should be killed?
That is why I know Islam is a false cult. Because dogs can sense good and evil, and they probably didn’t like Muhammad…so he didn’t like dogs.

Posted on March 30, 2012 at 11:24pmGood Lord these are such wonderful videos. I hate to make this political but whatever happened to Obama’s dog? You can bet that Obama‘s dog doesn’t act like this when he/she see’s Obama. And of course the bond between a man and his dog is reciprocal. One of Neil‘s Young’s greatest songs is about his old dog KING and the greatest episode of the Twilight Zone is called THE HUNT. If you subscribe to Netflix you can stream it. It’s about a man and his dog, life & death and heaven & hell.
