Some Never Learn: MSNBC Caught Selectively Editing Romney Video to Make Him Seem ‘Out of Touch’

MSNBC and Andrea Mitchell Selectively Edit Mitt Romney Video on Wawas to Make Him Seem Out of Touch

After NBC was caught selectively editing the George Zimmerman police tapes to make it seem like he was volunteering racial information, MSNBC has been caught editing a clip of Mitt Romney to make him seem wildly “out of touch,” when he was really just explaining the difference between the private and public sectors.

In the MSNBC clip, Romney is shown discussing Wawa’s convenience stores like he has never been to one before (presumably because he is “too good” for such an establishment).

Introduced by Andrea Mitchell saying: “I get the feeling–take a look at this– that Mitt Romney has not been to too many Wawa’s along the roadside in Pennsylvania,” Romney says: “I was at Wawa’s, I wanted to order a sandwich.  You press the little touch tone keypad, alright, you just touch that, and you know, the sandwich comes at you, touch this, touch this, touch this, go pay the cashier, there’s your sandwich.  It’s amazing.”

Momentarily speechless, Mitchell repeats, “It’s amazing,” as her guest breaks into sharp laughter.

Too bad the clip was taken wildly out of context.

In reality, Romney was illustrating the difference between private and public sector efficiency.  After telling a story where his friend had to fill out a 33-page form twice to complete a change of address with the government, Romney holds up touch-tone sandwich-ordering as an example of private sector efficiency– not as a marvel of how the “common” man lives.

Even Politico wrote a story on the speech today, failing to add any context whatsoever to “Romney’s Wawa visit.”

Right Scoop concludes: “Romney isn’t out of touch here at all.  Whether you like his comparison or not, it was absolutely not what was represented by MSNBC.”

      NOW THEY are crossing the line. It’s one thing to have opinion folks on spouting whatever they think…it’s totally another mis use of the first Amendment to publish FAUX information knowingly.

      CAN’T they (shouldn’t they) lose their Broadcasting Licenses? The airwaves BELONG (like the gov) to the PEOPLE. LET’S see what we can do about demanding TRUTH !!       Not only do I hate Andrea Mitchell, I despise her and her wickedness. I can easily see her on a broom……….Can there be a more wicked woman than this one? and ugly!
      I laid awake all night after hearing this clip on radio. Only I heard the entire clip, not the distorted, cut, clipped & pasted, dishonest, outright lying to us, to achieve their own agenda of faking news.
      That’s what MSNBC and their ilk do, they distort everything, misinterpret the truth. They will lose their souls to the Devil. There’s nothing more evil than telling a portion of the news to advance THEIR side & personal gain Andrea Mitchell is good at this, why I hate the witch.

      Main Street creates jobs.

      Wall Street pushes paper and makes money without making anything of intrinsic value. America has become a service country now. Munufacturing has been eroded to the point that it is being sent overseas because of un-needed regulations from the govt. Look at CA. Companies that can are moving out in droves. Saving 11% in taxes.

      Wall Street is also the epitome of greed. It was Wall Street that said go forth and create sub-prime loans (remember them? They created this depression) and we can sell them. Those fat cat Wall Streeters got filthy rich, along with the foreign language speaking loan officers. And remember the vids of them laughing about how this will all collapse but they will have scored big?

      MicMac, it was Dodd, Frank and the Democrats in congress that started it all by forcing the banks to give mortgages to people they knew could not pay them back. The sub-primes were an attempt to spread the wealth (or in this case the damage). The banks may well suck for many reasons, but in this case please keep the finger pointed at the originators: generally the government and specifically the Democrats and their spineless Republican allies. As you said, get your history straight.

For example, When Apple sells stock on the stock market, the investor’s money is made available to Apple to expand their company, to create new products, and YES create jobs. In return, Apple pays dividends and a high return on the investors investment. The investor can then use this money going to shows, buy food, getting their lawn mowed, using it for their own company(ies) to expand. All these vendors need people to help provide these services….Jobs!

      Wall Street is the single largest means for providing capital to business the world has ever known. It has provided the worlds economy more job opportunity than any other organization in the history of the world. Are there and has their been evil people who work in the Stock Exchange….You bet! However, you have the same percentage of bad apples in every walk of life.

      You need to educate yourself before spouting off these non-sense talking points the Leftist media’s has drilled into your brain.

Wall Street does create jobs in that it encourages risk-takers to invest dollars into companies in order to get some returns. What those companies do with the dollars is to: create new products, employ more people, buy or build more outlets and thus create jobs. Your explanation of Wall Street is highly simplistic and very blue-collar in its concept. As to the export of jobs and the destruction of the US manufacturing sector, thank labor unions and Lyndon Johnson’s welfare state for that. Prior to 1969, manufacturers could count on a surplus of unskilled or semiskilled labor to keep costs down even in unionized plants. After the Great Society programs began paying the unskilled to stay out of the labor force, the semiskilled leftovers started demanding confiscatory wages because their taxes went up to subsidize the unskilled layabouts. By the time George Meany took over the AFL-CIO, labor unions had become bloodsucking leeches, driving manufacturers out of the country to find unskilled and semiskilled labor to fill jobs that weren’t worth the prices unions were asking. In 1977, it was common for a union factory worker with a 6th grade education to earn more than a person with a masters’ degree for the task of putting four nuts on four bolts a few hundred times a day.
