‘Somehow Missed Science Class’: Obama Mocks Akin Over ‘Rape’ Comments

NEW YORK (AP) — President Barack Obama is mocking Senate candidate Todd Akin of Missouri for his remarks about a woman’s body being able to avoid pregnancy during what Akin called a “legitimate rape.”

Obama tells a group of donors in New York that the Republican congressman from Missouri “somehow missed science class” even though he sits on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.

Obama says Akin’s remarks are representative of what Obama called “the desire to go backwards instead of forwards and fight fights that we thought were settled 20 or 30 years ago.”

Akin has refused calls from within the GOP to drop his bid to challenge Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill. He made the remarks in a TV interview last Sunday while defending his opposition to abortion in all circumstances.

    AKIN is actually, mathematically correct!

    Considering, all the sex which is occuring which doesn’t result in pregnancy, ovulation cycles, all the pregnancies which occur…..

    Pregnancy rarely results from rape. “Legitimate Rape” which is reported to the police at the time gets immediate medical attention, offered the morning after pill, so, again rare pregnancy! So, if you want to mock..try mocking your ridiculous straw argument to justify killing babies due to rape, when it is high percentage really for the selfish desires of the men and women who accidently…..

    Before you go attacking me, I was violently raped and was told in the ER it was rare for a women to get pregnant, mostly due to sexual disfunction of the rapist, birth control of woman, stress response of woman, timing of ovulation of woman, etc….

    I don‘t know Akin or his policies but justification of abortion laws because of rape has always been 2 wrongs don’t make it right.

    Adoption is the best solution!

    Remember, folks. Obama is the man who permits late term abortions, and the killing off of newborns who survive botched abortions.
    Obama is the man who supports partial birth abortion where they insert an instrument into the heads of unborn humans, take out the brain, and birth a dead baby.
    That, America, is the man who is trying to take the moral high ground here.
    He even said he would kill off his own unborn grandchild if his daughters got pregnant and didn’t want the “mistake.” Sickening.
