Soros’ Media Matters Teams With Planned Parenthood to Rebuff Undercover Videos

Newly released video investigations which seem to show associates of Planned Parenthood offering abortion advice to admitted sex traffickers have caused a PR nightmare for the abortion provider.  In response, Media Matters for America, a left-leaning “media watchdog” group funded and supported by billionaire George Soros, held a conference call with Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and other liberal activists to strategize how best to counter the videos.

LifeNews.com reports:

Instead of implementing a plan to fire staff responsible and train personnel to properly report such illegal activity to authorities, Planned Parenthood’s president and Vice President Stewart Schear joined the liberal activists on a conference call designed to strategize a response. Most of the discussion on the call reportedly centered on how to discredit the group that conducted the undercover operation, Live Action, and its president Lila Rose.

A blogger from the liberal web site AlterNet appeared on the call and asked a question about where Live Action gets its funding and complained that the group has ties to conservative organizations and leaders.

The blogger, Adele Stan, said Richards told the callers that the strategy to diffuse the criticism is essentially to ignore it and focus on rebuilding Planned Parenthood’s reputation as a provider of non-abortion services for women — even though its own figures shows abortion comprises a large total of its funding and abortions are essentially the only service offered to pregnant women.

“Cecile Richards urged progressive bloggers to spread the word that Planned Parenthood’s clients desperately need the health care provided to them by Planned Parenthood clinics, explaining that for many of the women who come in for basic gynecological services, Planned Parenthood provides the only health care they receive,” Stan wrote.

In addition, Media Matters’ executive vice president Ari Rabin-Havt reportedly announced his organization’s plans to continue targeting Live Action, “debunking the organization’s claims, and focusing on its methods.”

Media Matters decried the Live Action investigative videos as “seven minutes of nothing” and a “bogus smear.”  The group continued its assault Friday, accusing Live Action of doctoring the videos — the same claim the group made when ACORN workers were caught covering up a purported prostitution ring in undercover videos last year.

“Instead of focusing on the fact that there is an organization who turned a blind eye to child sex-trafficking, an organization that receives forced federal funding, the group of senior fellows ostensibly chose the route which affords zero defense of women, born or unborn, thereby saving them from compromising their female-hostile ideologies: attack Lila Rose. These outlets don’t see the insanity in feigning disgust that the racket was exposed, not that it occurred at all,” conservative blogger Dana Loesch wrote Friday.

“The majority of the call was spent discussing ways to discredit Rose because of her funding. They surmise that some group which donates to her pro-life magazine is a group donated to by a group given money by the Koch Brothers. So says people who just cashed a $1 million-dollar check from George Soros,” Loesch added. “Apparently some in this country think that sex trafficking is a sin inherent to all other countries but the United States, as evidenced by their refusal to condemn what actually occurred on the Planned Parenthood videos. It’s a snotty, elitist view by people who make careers of condemning snooty, elitist views. Another contradiction which, alone, would preclude further criticism.”

She concluded: “Cecile Richards and Stewart Schear respectively, sounded the alarm for the Journolist 2.0 conference call. Perhaps the mainstream media wasn’t doing enough to reconcile what Planned Parenthood says about women’s rights to what their workers are seen on tape doing: talking to a pimp about underage girls as though the girls’s bodies were commodities. A cattle auction, but in an office.”

Additionally, liberal activist group MoveOn.org is also stepping forward to defend Planned Parenthood in the wake of the videos, demanding that various media outlets not air the footage.

“Tell The Hill to take down the article unless they update it to include this source’s history of lying, doctoring video and using illegal means to obtain information,” the group wrote in an e-mail to its supporters.

“We weren’t thinking of it strictly as a defense of Planned Parenthood,” MoveOn spokeswoman Ilyse Hogue said. “Our members have definitely expressed a need for years and years for media to report the background and do some investigations.”

Statements containing pronouns with no antecedents sure as hell fly over no head so much as flop impotently at the reading public’s feet. No love for the comma or an exclamation mark after your “Wow”? This statement is presented as an imperative directing the reader to “wow that line” and contextually becomes word salad with “flew over your head”. The Grammar Police have spoken!
I generally like George Carlin. However, I’m not a big fan of moral relativism. I get the joke, but many folks just aren’t going to find it all that funny. However, the utterance offered by one Stupid Windmill… that was amusing. Thanks for the grist.

Here’s another quote regarding the sinfulness of man:
“If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external or internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.”

The entire abortion subject is not going away no however the law reads. Before the Roe vs. Wade decision abortion was illegal. And black market abortions with subsequent hemoragings, infections, and deaths were rampant. The Supreme Court decision separating cases by trimester is comparable to Solomon determining the baby’s mother. Enforce the Roe vs. Wade decision. This is very possibly the greatest justice possible.

      dcwu;

I usually refrain from calling people names, but in your case I gladly make an exception: You are an idiot! How do you compare Solomon’s decision with a very political decision. Consider, the murderer‘s reasoning was quickly overturned when medical science reduced the time when babies are ’viable’ outside the womb. The jerk (forgot his name) really blew it. Solomon did not. Solomon had no intention of killing the baby – this jerk certainly knew what he was doing – I read his reasoning, and it is deplorable. Consider, if you leave the baby where it is for less than a year a viable, living baby results. This guy must be above obomba’s pay grade, the the anointed one wouldn’t answer, even though he advocates killing those babies surviving a botched abortion. You, and your kind, disgust me.

You do realize that Norma McCorvey (Jane Roe) supports the Pro-Life movement. She had no idea of the genocide she would be starting. She was a desperate woman pregnant with her third child that she wasn’t sure she could support and became a victim of 2 activist feminist lawyers. I don’t think your analogy of Solomon fits. She appealed to the Supreme Court to have their decision overturned and was denied a hearing because the case was moot in their eyes.

No they were not.THAT is part of THE BIG LIE that we have been fed for decades.Google it Mr.Soros.Rampant………..what lies.Birth control legalization and approval by Protestant Churches in 1930 ushered in license in sex outside of marrige until today when our society is completely pornified and promiscuity and abortions have skyrocketed along with devastating stds. The idolatrous Deification of sex and its subsequent debasement as an excretory act of recreational pursuit has contributed to the anti-theism and situation elasticizing of “morality”.The only right or wrong is what the tiny little god in the bathroom mirror tells one.The denial of personhood to the preborn is exactly what slaverholders did to black men, women and children and what the Nazis did to the Jews. Those two examples cannotbe disputed and the wanton murder of the most helpless among us in what used to be the safest and now,the most dangerous place on earth-the womb-is coming to be recognised by more and more-especially the young to be the next most important human rights issue ever.In the future-once we have ended this holocaust-which you can be assured we will-future generations will look back at this era and abortionist-murderers,their apologists and especially the SILENT as being the immoral equivalent of the Slaveholders and Nazis in whom we hold in absolute contempt.
“If you shut up the truth and bury it under the ground, it will but grow, and gather to itself such explosive power that the day it bursts through it will blow up everything in its way.”

A woman has full control of her body UNTIL she participates in the act that will introduce another life into her body. At that point she is a murdurer if she removes that second life. When we commit acts there are bound to be results and the result of this act is another human. If the woman’s death occurs during during or through the life of the child, so be it! Life continues or doesn’t, God’s choice.

It’s so funny how the woman is a murderer but the man has no responsibility whatsoever for not being able to keep it in his pants. If that isn’t the essential definition of sexism and misogyny….

A man should NEVER have sex EVER with ANY woman unless it is his wife because the possibility of abortion is always out there. No sex for men before marriage or the MAN is a murderer if the woman has an abortion – because he CHOSE to do the NASTY, fully aware of all possible results.

If men followed this rule and always kept it in their pants like they should there would be no abortion.

@MareeClare…How is this somehow the mans fault? Each woman is the goallie of her own uterus. She decides what she lets in and knows full well what could result. If she picks a scumbag who wouldn’t support her should she becomes pregnant that is HER fault for not protecting herself. The easiest way for women to protect themselves is to obstain from sex until marriage.

      Neversaynever,

I do not think it was her intention to just blame the man. I may be wrong about that, but that is not the way I took her post anyway. Both parties are equally to blame, unless it is a case of rape…But the stats show this is actually a very small percentage of abortions.

It is the woman that has to carry and give birth to the child, but the man needs to step up also. I am a man, and I was not saved until my thirties. I slept with many women before I was married in my late twenties…I have no room to comment on this…But one of the biggest problems with society is our laxness concerning sex. We were made for a single, life-long partner. That is not to say a widow or widower should not re-marry, and I also do not think the Lord would want someone to stay in an abusive, dangerous situation…But there is no commitment to family anymore. Everyone makes mistakes and we are all sinners…But it is time we started taking responsibility too. Men and women.

After all, in the long run you will be a victim too, unless you start looking at the big picture. If you are old enough, or smart enough, to look past the hoopla you will find that the people (except for the trolls) aren’t here for themselves, they are here because they are concerned about you, their families, their neighbors, strangers on the street; they are concerned your right to make your own choices is being hijacked. Unless you grew up enjoying your parents telling you what to do, when to do it and how to do it; followed up by school that told you what to do, when to do it and how to do it; why would you want the government telling you what to do, when to do it and how to do it. I am Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. I just think that when a man drops his pants and a woman lays down of her own free will, the choice was made. .00001 percent of abortions have anything to do with rape or incest, so this caveat that we need abortion to cover that is so unbelievably mis-guided.

If we are going to have legal abortion based on Roe v. Wade, let’s go back to the guidelines where 2nd and 3rd term abortions were rare and for the “life and health” of the mother. Can we think of a true “health” issue where we have to birth a baby breach to save the life of the mother after she is forced onto a drip to induce labor for 24 hours before the baby passes through the birth canal? Does that scenario even exist?

No, we have a world where the “life and health” of the mother is based on “my boyfriend left me” or my baby daddy didn’t leave his wife, so I am going to have to raise this baby on my own. I don’t think that those scenarios fit what Roe v. Wade was all about.

95%+ abortions are based soley on birth control. This moral indignity about “a woman’s rights over her body” are a weak argument compared to the reality of when and how abortions are performed in America.

Oh yeah that includes the Presidents administration who fired her. She had been fired before Beck was even aware of this video and he was the first to come to her defense. Nice to know Soros is hard at work using his profits, gained from money markets, paying ideolouge fools who think he’s socialist. It’s genius actually. He pays smart people pennies on the dollar by exploiting their ideologies. They are all fools.

As the father of two small girls, I take a steel hard position on child trafficking/prostitution/porn. That being said, women and girls become pregnant in all sorts of circumstances, and I am not arrogant enough to say that my male view is the right one, or the only one.

I can say from personal knowledge that abortion is not the easy way out and its effects can be devastating and long lasting, but sometimes it is the least of available evils. The option of a safe, sympathetic and honest organisation should remain. The travesty is that (a) the pimp was tolerated and, as far as I know, not handed over to the cops, and that (b) the whole thing has become a political feast that has now attracted the likes of that scurrilous vulture, George Soros.

I know that abortions are wrong, it is murder, but it is tempting to say that abortions should have begun with Soros’ mother having the first one, but that would be uncivil wouldn’t it? Better keep that thought to myself and work on my attitude.

“The slight outraged Beck, who got his revenge with what may rank as one of the cruelest bits in the history of morning radio. “A couple days after Kelly’s wife, Terry, had a miscarriage, Beck called her live on the air and says, ‘We hear you had a miscarriage,’ ” remembers Brad Miller, a former Y95 DJ and Clear Channel programmer. “When Terry said, ‘Yes,’ Beck proceeded to joke about how Bruce [Kelly] apparently can’t do anything right — about he can’t even have a baby.”"

The title alone should send up red flags to State’s Attorneys. Media Matters is planning to “cover up” the wrong doing of Planned Parenthood. Aren’t there laws against interfering and covering up in an investigation? If Soros and Media Matters are involved you know there must be a money scam and illegal things going on “because the ends justify the means”.

@NZKIWI DId you not see that I posted the link with the FIRST excerpt? And why didn’t you just google the text to find the source if you wanted to read more? Do your own homework. But I understand how you must be suffering from cognitive dissonance to see that your hero there is nothing more than a shameless, self-promoting, cruel Lonesome Rhodes morning-zoo DJ jerk.

      From FORBES:
      http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2010/0426/entertainment-fox-news-simon-schuster-glenn-beck-inc.html

“With a deadpan, Beck insists that he is not political: “I could give a flying crap about the political process.” Making money, on the other hand, is to be taken very seriously, and controversy is its own coinage. “We’re an entertainment company,” Beck says.”

      And then there’s this:

“Beck’s real broadcasting innovation during his stay in Kentucky came in the realm of vicious personal assaults on fellow radio hosts. A frequent target of Beck’s in Louisville was Liz Curtis, obese host of an afternoon advice show on WHAS, a local AM news-talk station. It was no secret in Louisville that Curtis, whom Beck had never met and with whom he did not compete for ratings, was overweight. And Beck never let anyone forget it. For two years, he used “the big blonde” as fodder for drive-time fat jokes…

Despite the constant goading, Curtis never responded. … As his attacks escalated and grew more unhinged, a WHAS colleague of Curtis’ named Terry Meiners decided to intervene. He appeared one morning unannounced at Beck’s small office, … He told Beck to lay off Curtis, suggesting he instead attack a morning DJ like himself, who could return fire. “Beck told me, ‘Sorry, all’s fair in love and war,’” remembers Meiners. “He continued with the fat jokes, which were exceedingly cruel, pointless, and aimed at one of the nicest people in radio. Glenn Beck was over-the-top childish from Day One, a punk who tried to make a name for himself by being disruptive and vengeful.”"

You are not sharing anything new. Glenn Beck has already been very open about the ‘dumb’ things he did in the past during his ‘angry, alcohol, drug filled days.‘ The fact that you are trying to discredit him when we are reading a story that doesn’t have anything to do with him, says a lot about yourself. Focus on this story. Comment on a story about Beck.

Mareeclaire is right, this did happen but it was many years ago when Beck was alcoholic, before he turned his life around. Beck has been very open about his past (more so than any public figure I can recall) and has repeatly apologized. Do you have any stories about this type of behavior recently, like say in the past 10-15 years? No.

I wonder how upset Planned Parenthood acted about the ‘pedophile’ Priests (most of whom were not pedophiles at all because they used teenagers).

Would it be possible from this point on, for all of us to refer to Planned Parenthood as Planned Pedophiles? Actually, anything with ‘pedophile’ in it would work, as long as it would stick. For now, I’m going with Planned Pedophiles.

@MareeClaire, my apologies for not coming back sooner but I live in a different time zone and had to sleep. Also I apologise for implying that you were being dishonest.

If I was to tell you of all the stupid things that I have done and said, I would fill up a lot of space on this site. Also, the cringing as I wrote would doubtlessly permanently change my facial expression.

It is certain that some of his comments noted are appalling but equally they were at a time when GB was a drunk and a drug addict. Even people who don’t like him must be impressed that he managed to change his life through a sheer act of will. As to the suggestion that making a considerable amount of money somehow lessens him, one of the things I like about America is that people are usually congratulated for doing well rather than demeaned for it (which is often the case in my country – we used to call it the Great New Zealand Clobbering Machine)

So in all, you are correct in your statements but uncharitable in your presentation. I thank you though because one of the links that you provided went into detail about GB’s past and made for interesting reading.
