Soros Sympathizes With Occupy Wall Street Protests

In what can only described as the ultimate irony, billionaire financier George Soros has come out in support of the the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

During a Monday news conference at U.N. headquarters, Soros was asked what he thought about the “Days of Rage” protests.

“Actually I can understand their sentiment, frankly,” he said to the reporters.

Soros mentioned the struggle of  small business owners who saw the interest rate on their credit cards soar from 8 percent to 28 percent after the 2008 financial meltdown, reports the Huffington Post.

Because many of them depended on personal credit to keep their businesses going, he said, “an awful lot of them actually were put out of business.”

“And at the same time the decision not to inject capital into the banks, but to effectively relieve them of their bad assets and then allow them to earn their way out of a hole leaves the banks bumper profits and then allows them to pay bumper bonuses,” Fox reports the Hungarian-born financier saying.

“And the contrast between the two, I think, is a large contingent” of both the Occupy Wall Street protests and the Tea Party movement, Soros said.

However, if there was one person who might actually lend credibility to the the Days of Rage protests, that is, if there were one person who justifies their “rage” against corrupt financiers, it is George Soros.

By their own admission, albeit somewhat convoluted and unintelligible, the protesters have stated that they are against financial corruption (we think) and “greed.”

Consider these facts:

  • 2002: George Soros fined $2.3 million under French securities laws for insider trading
  • 1992: Black Wednesday, Soros  sells short  more than $10 billion worth of pounds, profiting from the UK government’s reluctance to either raise its interest rates to levels comparable to those of other European Exchange Rate Mechanism countries or to float its currency.
  • 2011: Forbes writes that that Soros has a net worth estimated at $22.0 billion, making him the 46th richest person in the world.

If Soros does not fit description of “corrupt financier,” we are not sure who does.

It would then make sense for the protesters to unanimously reject Soros’ “sympathy,“ and to direct their ”rage” against him rather than some faceless, nameless bankers who work on Wall Street.

To the protesters: Corporatism is NOT part of a free market.

The free market did not cause the Great Depression; Rather, a massive expansion of credit by the Fed during the 1920s misled businesses into engaging in unsustainable long-term projects. This also led to overvaluation of these companies’ stocks. This was the Roaring 20s … Caused by the Fed … not by the free market.

When this false boom busted, as all false booms do, we had the stock market crash of 1929.

This is the Austrian Business Cycle Theory, basically (as applied to the Big Crash); And because Ron Paul knew Austrian Economics, he knew, way back in 2001, that the housing bubble would crash.

      See here.

Sept.2001 Ron Paul Predicts Housing Bubble and Crash

And after the Crash, Keynesian Economics didn’t allow the economy to recover. This was our Great Depression.

Note also that capital IS involved in EVERY boom-bust cycle – BUT ONLY BECAUSE there was a massive non market expansion of credit.

A free market would NEVER result in panics, depressions, or recessions, because no one in a free market would risk extending this much credit! This goes for fractional reserve banking WHICH IS ALSO NOT PART OF A FREE MARKET.

Which brings me to the next logical point: Fiat money allows for a sneaky phenomenon called Cantillon effects, which is like a back door tax. By printing money out of thin air, the printers get to spend money at its current value before it gets devalued.

This, in effect, transfers wealth to the bankers and the government from everyone else.

This is why Ron Paul says to END THE FED. You cannot inflate certain commodity monies very well (such as gold), and so banks would stand and fall on their own without taking the rest of the economy with it, were it not for the fact that we are being FORCED to use fiat money.

Agreed MOTONUT… these are those who will blindly listen and follow Soros. He knows it and is why he is in support. Take note whether its Soros or Emperor Obama they will always come in support of the radicals rising up. With Iran BHO was silent with the people rising up against the regime vs in Egypt he was right there with the Muslim Brotherhood rising up. Take a look for yourselves its always plays out that way. BHO more than likely supports these zombie drones who in many ways sounda lot like TEA party ppl yet who will get the support. The radical anarchists, socialists, communists “revolutionaries”!

The media and Hollywood along with several politicians etc like Ron Paul are taking sides with these people. I will not accept the argument that they dont know who they are in NYC rising up. Its been made clear even as recently as yesterday with the dolt on PMSNBC with Racist Sharpton they are anarchists revolutionaries. Heck one vid I saw they were literally chanting “ Che Che Che”! We on the side of conservatism, the Constitution, CAPITALISM are now the enemy in the mainstream even though many of their complaints have been our complaints. Difference btwn them and us we dont wear masks, trash the area of protest and embrace communism, socialism, maxism let alone cold blooded killers! Here is George Soros: 1) claiming that markets can’t predict bubbles (when Ron Paul, in fact, did), 2) acknowledging that regulators create moral hazard, and in the next sentence saying that regulators still have to intervene, and 3) denying that markets can correct themselves (when the recovery from the Depression of 1920 proves otherwise).

George Soros also makes the claim that ever since we’ve had financial markets, we’ve had financial crashes. What he doesn’t tell you is that those crashes can only occur in the context of non market expansions of credit (such as government forcing interest rates low, or the printing of fiat money in excess of the available commodity money held).

Another close tie to occupy wall street is the Glass Bead Collective – A guerrilla marketing company specializing in social issues. They’ve worked on projects for “Billionaires for Bush, The War Resisters, and GRACE. The Glass Bead Collective gets it’s name from “The Glass Bead Game” by Hermann Hesse in 1943. These “non-violent” demonstrations usually depend on provoking violence to generate propaganda and public sympathy. The real rioting, looting and arson will begin when the minority groups are outraged by some indignity. This is what “community organizers” do.

A critical evaluation of President Obama’s agenda will prove that the results of implementing that agenda will be an economic crisis and disarming of the citizens. Implementation of that agenda is almost complete and the results are:
    1. Tremendous transfer of wealth to President Obama’s political cronies
    2. Use of the bureaucracy to implement regulations on the producer that greatly increases cost and restrict production
    3. Restrictions on harvesting natural resources
    4. Attempts to disarm the citizens
    5. Restrictive regulations and disbursements to support the Global Warming Scam
    6. The unemployment rate is the highest since the 1930s

The formation of an economic crisis is almost complete. The inevitable result of an economic crisis is civil unrest. The “Occupy Wall Street Movement” is the beginning of that civil unrest. The objective of this civil unrest is creating chaos that will allow “wannabe tyrant” to declare martial law and suspend the Constitution. Just like the other “Wannabe Tyrants” that became dictators the Tyrant will promise to reinstate the Constitution and provide free elections. But the Tyrant will simply consolidate power and become a Dictator. Just like Cuba we will still be waiting for reinstatement of the Constitution and free elections 50 years from now!

The American Revolution has not been in such jeopardy since the war of 1812.

When a “Freedom Fighter” achieves a successful revolution the “Freedom Fighter” promises to implement a Constitution that guarantees individual freedom and free elections within a year. Within that year the “Freedom Fighter” consolidates power and reneges on that promise. The dictatorship is established. An historical exception to this natural progression was the American Revolution and George Washington. George Washington refused the Crown and the Constitution that guaranteed individual freedom was implemented. This set the stage for over 200 years of prosperity and innovation that began with “40 acres and a mule” and led to the prosperity that the United States enjoyed throughout the 20th century. While it is true that some residents were not allowed to participate as free people in the beginning, this error only inhibited the development of the nation and was eventually corrected.

When a free and prosperous society with armed citizens exists, it becomes much more difficult for the tyrants to seize control. Two of the most notorious dictators (Hitler and Mussolini) of the 20th century seized control during an economic crisis. For a “Wannabe Tyrant” to become a dictator, an economic crisis and the disarming of the citizens is absolutely necessary.

It is impossible to look into a person’s mind and determine his reasons or beliefs, one can only be judged by one’s actions.
