‘Sorry, That Was Hard to Watch’: Megyn Kelly Chokes Up During Syria Report

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly had a very human moment on Wednesday when she became emotional and choked up during a report about the ongoing violence in Syria.

Kelly was describing new footage of a screaming young boy injured when government missiles struck a hospital in the rebel-held city of Aleppo.

“Look at that terrible picture,” Kelly said. “The boy screaming as doctors race to treat him under the threat of more attacks.”

She continued after the footage concluded: “It comes as the United Nations declared today that the Syrian regime…sorry, that was hard to watch,” she said, her voice breaking. “…is committing war crimes against humanity.”

      I‘m not saying what she’s upset about isn’t upsetting – I’m saying that Megyn Kelly is an inhuman monster incapable of feeling real human emotion. A reptile. A cold, calculating machine designed to lie. You can project your own humanity onto her all you want but you’re never going to make someone like that feel real empathy. She‘s acting and you’re being manipulated. Stop being willing participants in your own victimization.       Amen. We pray for all human life and don’t forget that our Lord is soooo great HE can do miracles. My nephew is in Egypt and is being raised a Muslim. His house is in Cairo right near Tarir square and I pray for him often, this child could be him. It could be any of us. Thank God we live in the US, but then again…ask anyone that is a 9/11 survivor…It can be any of us. Should we get involved…NO, but empathy and prayer…it is my duty and my honor. Thank you Judeo… And for the name calling and bashing that goes on on, shameful.

    It’s nice to see that even the institutional Right is pushing pro-insurgent sob stories. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely despise the left-wing socialist Assad regime. I support taking military action against them. But unbelievably, the general population of Syria are even more evil than his regime is.

    Syria is comprised of mostly sunni muslims. Shi’ite muslims – who Assad represents – are a tiny minority of the population. And there’s also a sizable minority of Christians in Syria (who the Assad regime largely leaves alone and even protects from the savage muslim hordes who hate them with a genocidal passion). The shi’ites too are absolutely despised by the majority sunni muslim population in Syria. And that’s what the heart of this conflict is REALLY all about.

    The sunni muslim majority in Syria simply can‘t stand be governed by the shi’ites who they view as apostates and infidels. And even though the Assad regime is a strong supporter of islamic jihadists – especially ones dedicated to destroying Jewish Israel – he’s still nowhere near fundamentalist and militant enough for the sunni muslim population in Syria. They want a strict sunni theocracy that adheres to sharia law. THAT‘S why they’re trying to overthrow him.

    Why the heck should we be cheering them on? Both sides are evil. The insurgents are still worse, though. Don’t fall for sob story propaganda. The islamic middle east are masters at it.

      Sure… it’s heart wrenching to view but why is it happening and is it any of our business. Wars are hell, period. I understand why she feels this way, who wouldn’t but that child is not worth a scratch on the knee of one of our American troops. If it is such a “crime” transpiring over there, let Israel, Turkey et. al. intervene with their blood & treasure.       Excellent post MARSH626. For the last 115 years or so, our politicians are constnatly wanting to align ourselves with the lesser of two evils instead of taking the true moral ground which is saying that when both sides are evil, we will not help. When both parties are evil, the victor only becomes the new oppressor. War is **it and if people will actually learn this rather than simply lie and say that they do, we will come to the realization that not helping either party can at times be a valid option. Please don’t read into this post and say “what about the jews in world war II” if you read my post, I say that my thought process is for when both beligerants are inherently evil. The Jews were not evil and thus my logic still stands.

Evil and the best outcome for humanity is if this war drags on for 10yrs and Syria splits into several little countries with only 1/10th of the population surviving. The obvious parts should be “The U.N. declairs war I choked up the same watching Obama’s drone strikes wound, kill, and cripple Afgan children by the dozens. Is he up for war crimes too? Maybe the U.N. could do us a solid by charging him as well? Any declairation the U.N. makes is sure to be full to the brim with B.S. So, one kid is hurt and they are using that as a reason to step in and take over the area. These criminally insain people think they own the whole world.       Though I have no support for the Syrian government, there are probably many more pictures and videos of the many many children that have been wounded and killed due to bombings done by the U.S. in various middle east countries than there are of what the syrian government has done. Those people dressed in black, riding motorcycle in the night terrorizing innocent people. Released prisoner paid to terrorize people when the sun was gone. When CNN was live I watch Anderson Cooper interview an Egyption telling of capturing one of these motorcyclist and they had prison I.D’s. The Egyption’s made the motorcyclist talk. Many important things were caught by my eye’s when Cooper was live. It‘s hard to cover the truth when it’s live. That‘s why we don’t see live interview’s on the ground.       The enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our friend. Should we send troops, air cover, aid to the rebels? They’d end up hating us after we provided the assistance to get them in to power. This Shia / Sunni thing has been going on longer than the US has been a nation. It is heart wrenching to see the innocent children get hurt in war. War is horrible for a reason. Until men can live amongst each other in brotherhood and say no to the sin in the world there will always be war. Let them duke out themselves.       Didn’t look like a ratings performance to me. I think Kelly was genuinely emotional. I found it hard to watch too.

      Yeah, I stopped watching Fox around the first of the year. I did like Kelly, and some of her clips here are still good. Fox is turning out to be just like the rest of them anymore. Of course, I’ve been a quite upset with GB some of the time too. He‘s still better than most other sources I’ve found, but I used to enjoy everything he did when he was still at Fox. I can‘t even explain what it is that’s different.

    I watched this report live and I nearly cried as well. Kelly did an amazing job staying professional. Our hearts and prays go out to all the victims of these horrible attacks. I also pray that the Syrian regime sees no mercy when justice is given for these victims.

      I can respect what she went through as well. I’m sure she saw the rest of the video that did not air. I’ve had to step away from some terrible traffic accidents that I have been working to briefly regain my composure. God bless you Megyn.

    Death is painful (not for the dead, but for who they leave behind) whether you know the person dying or not… Your mind races through ideas of what they will no longer be able to experience… So its a natural human reaction to feel pain when watching others suffer (unless your a Sadist).

    As someone who has taken a life in the act of self-defense, I know that I had feelings about my actions, however I value my life more than the life of ANYONE who attacks me…. Sure the heat of the moment can make you override that emotion, but you will feel it none the less…. And when you can only sit by and watch (like in this case) it becomes even harder when you realize the limits of your own personal power…

    That stuff is hard to watch. Kelly does a great job and is very professional. I’m sure seeing that child made her think of many things but specifically her child she gave birth to last year. Very sad.

      I love kids and don’t like to see them hurt. BUT……. Syria is none of our business as Libya was none of our business. The criminal politicians are just looking for another war to send our guys and gals into so that they cannot be here to defend US. when the SHTF. They want as many American warriors to die as they can possibly cause. These goons hate our military.

    It would also be difficult to watch our troops getting killed in yet another **** hole country trying to save them from savages only to have them turn on us and kill our troops for trying to help them, We could give them billions of dollars and they would still attack us,I say let them fight it out because we shed enough blood in that middle east hell hole already.

      Well since Korea we stopped fighting wars to win. War is not supposed to be polite. Eradicate the enemy and be done with it. Enough of this crap of “policing” or “training” – eliminate the enemy, reduce the civilian sympathizers and supporters to begging us to stop – Leave no quarter – Harsh? Yes – Effective? Absolutely Take more than 10 yrs? Not at all – accomplished in a few months.

      Why is it we do not speak German or Japanese in the US?…. I rest my case

      How come it took all of you so long to realize this? 10 years and 5,000 dead Americans, countless others wounded. Tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis or tortured or killed. NOW you don’t like it? What happened to “We’ll put a boot in your a$$. It’s the American way.”

    That whole thing is a mess. You got bad people fighting bad people. In the end, nobody wins. If I had to root for a side, I’d say Assad. At least if they win, there is less likelihood of Caliphate and jihadist violence spreading. He and his regime are awful human beings for sure, though.

    However, I’m guessing this ends like Libya or Egypt or Tunisia. Syria will fall too. Lebanon will be next. Jordan will go eventually. It will leave Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Iran in very unstable positions…particularly the Saudi’s. It will provide a few years of peace while the Brotherhood strengthens their hand and whips the mosques into a frenzy. By 5 years the attack on Israel will happen.

    Both sides are causing atrocities. The rebels are just as bad or worse. The news media is really pushing for a war in Syria because they want more to report on. Remember when the Iraqis invaded Kuwait in the ‘90’s’? Remember the reports of Iraqi troops taking Kuwaiti babies out of incubators and putting them on the floor so they could take the incubators back to Baghdad.?! Remember how mad people were about it. Well…we found out much later it did not happen. I am not taking up for Iraqis at all because they were bad enough….but,….this story was a lie and it was told to inflame the American people to war… Same with this poor kid screaming.

      If alquada is helping the rebels topple this horrific police state regime-then it is our narrative about alquada that needs to change.And yes alquada has supported the toppling of all mid east dictators-including the saudi regime-which was why they were thrown out of arabia.And they helped throw out the soviets in afghanistan. And they even wanted to topple saddam before we did. They see us as propping up these regimes -hence their attack on us was political-not religious.That you could call yourselves american and support this brutal holocaust by a stalinist like police state -makes YOU UN american!

    The Middle East is in meltdown. Washington (Obama) has shown very little leadership. America has never been weaker on the world stage. Just the way the self proclaimed know it all wants it. Obama and a 2ND term? God help us

      The world didn’t force it on them. Their parents did. We use to hold citizens accountable for what their countries did. When we discovered concentration camps in Germany we rounded up German citizens, women and children and the elderly, and forced them to aid the living and clean up the dead. Be tough not nice. Nice is feeding a starving man. Tough is making that man go fish for himself.
