Lockdown Over After Man Walks Into Southern Calif. Hospital Claiming to Have a Bomb

A two-hour bomb scare ended late Thursday morning at a Southern California hospital after no explosives were found on a man who walked into the emergency room claiming to have a bomb.
Emergency room staff at Loma Linda University Medical Center could see exposed wires on the man, so they used a portable x-ray machine to scan the device and determined it looked like a bomb, the Riverside, Calif. Press-Enterprise reported. It was not clear where on the man’s body the device was located.
The local bomb squad took the man and the device to a hospital parking garage to conduct their own examination, the newspaper reported. When no explosives were found, sheriff’s deputies lifted the blockade around the emergency room.
The man, described as a Hispanic adult in his 50s, was taken for a psychiatric evaluation.
Loma Linda is approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

Posted on May 3, 2012 at 2:09pmI feel if your mentally unstable and decide to try and take innocents with you ie: suicide bomb, mass killings…a round to the head is the only judge and jury needed…that should be the ONLY exception to our Judicial system…our society is becoming too soft in dealing with these types of individuals. Too many excuses and ‘feel good’ laws and ‘rights’ afforded to these deranged people. Sad to say, but I feel thats how it should be…If you want to call it ‘suicide by cop’, than so be it. Too many innocent victims nowadays.
