Southern Discomfort: Paula Deen Fires Back After Being Accused of Liking ‘Evil Corporations’

Celebrity chef Paula Deen is as sweet as a tall glass of tea. But she showed a spicy side Friday when she responded to criticism from fellow chef Anthony Bourdain.
Bourdain recently blasted Deen to TV Guide, saying Deen “revels in unholy connections with evil corporations and she’s proud of the fact that her food is ******* bad for you … plus, her food sucks.” He also called her the “worst, most dangerous person in America.”
Deen responded to Bourdain’s charges on Fox Friday morning, saying she was “shocked,“ and wondered if it was a ”publicity thing“ or if maybe ”“somebody had just peed in his bowl of cereal that morning.”
She also thought it was ridiculous to blast “evil corporations,” saying that those connections have allowed her to do a plethora of charity work. Deen echoed those sentiments to the New York Post.
“You don’t have to like my food, or Rachael’s, Sandra‘s and Guy’s. But it’s another thing to attack our character,” she told The Post. “I wake up every morning happy for where I am in life. It’s not all about the cooking, but the fact that I can contribute by using my influence to help people all over the country. In the last two years, my partners and I have fed more than 10 million hungry people by bringing meat to food banks.”
Her advice to Bourdain the next time he’s asked a provocative question? “Some things are just best left unsaid,” she advised.

Speaking strictly for myself, I dare say that Paula Deen being from the south triggers an innate, conditioned prejudice within Bourdain. “She’s southern, therefore she’s to be held in contempt”. Emeril cooked very fatty foods on the Food Network. Ina Garten does likewise..Adam Richman has an entire show based on how much food you can gorge yourself on, on Bourdain’s travel channel…but they‘re liberals or they’re not from the south so Bourdain doesn’t have the ingrained disgust for them. Certainly I’m using conjecture…but from observing Bourdain I‘d say I’m very close to the mark.

A deluge of “chef ” competition shows that all of a sudden seem to have a lot of lesbians and homosexual men competing. Every second “chef” is tatted up and pierced. The judges on these shows carry the same elitist air Bourdain does. I don‘t believe it’s a coincidence.

Worked her way up from destitute. But given a choice of TV shows I’d pick Bourdain. To hear him whinging through a show, getting drunker and more beligerent by the minute, spouting off his absurd philosophical drivel, now that’s entertainment. My favorite: He goes caving in Jamaica, ankle deep in bat guano and giant hissing cockroaches, incredible heat and humidity, and his guides tell him to avoid sitting down because of the “anus-seeking parasites.” You can’t get more fun than that.

The jerk is rude and doesn’t care what he says about people. He was in another country with locals eating their food and kept making fun of it, saying how awful it was, etc.

This guy is just jealous that no one is watching his show and Paula is likable and people like her food instead of the God awful garbage this guy puts in his mouth from a plethra of third world “exotic” nations. Give me a break. When they can’t beat someone they just trip them and try to bring them DOWN to their level.
