Sparks Fly: Perry Accuses Romney of Hiring Illegal Immigrants

Perry Accuses Romney of Hiring Illegal Immigrants

In one of the most contentious exchanges of Tuesday night’s GOP debate, Texas Governor Rick Perry accused Mitt Romney of being a fraud on immigration issues, saying, “Mitt, you lose all of your standing, in my perspective, because you hired illegals in your home … The idea that you stand here before us … is on its face, the height of hypocrisy.”

Perry’s allegation is a reference to a Boston Globe story from 2007 that a contractor Romney hired for landscaping services had employed illegal immigrants. Romney asserts that, once he found out, he fired the contractor and employees in question.

Romney blasted back, I’ve never “hired an illegal in my life…”

“It’s been a tough couple of debates for Rick, and I understand that, and he’s gonna get testy.”

In most Texas schools we have special programs (Dual Language Programs) where it is comprised mostly of Illegals although any child can join. One day is in English and one in Spanish if you don‘t know Spanish you’re screwed until you learn it. they say it is because they want to immerse the kids in Spanish, really? Why don’t we teach them starting in Kinder a word a week by the time they reach 4th grade they will know most words. Anyway when they go to secondary school, in Garland, Texas for instance, all the dual Language Arts kids go to a specialized magnet school that offers the best of the best of arts, music, science this school gets all the special “stuff” while the regular kids (legal) who choose to opt out of dual language go to lesser schools unless they are gifted. Legal kids must be tested to go to a magnet school but the dual language kids automatically go…hummm! So if I were in Garland ISD my child would go to a regular school w/o all the bells and whistles that I PAY FOR while those who don’t pay taxes get all the great computers and guitar, and signing & dance lesson…on and on! We don’t go to Garland but I know people who do it just drives me crazy!

If you are interested here is the complete debate: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2011/oct/gop_debate_earlier.html

This is why these debates are so important, this is the vetting process for those that just don’t have the time to research everything. If something does make you question, read about it, don’t take the candidates word only about it. This is very important.

Notice on the debate last night when NV asked if nuclear waste was going to be dumped on them?

Perry and Romney saw it as a matter of PAYING NV ENOUGH MONEY and only Ron Paul said IT WAS A CONSTITUTIONAL STATES RIGHT ISSUE! To me, it showed how those 3 politicians’ minds work.

What do you think? Does MONEY solve everything, or does the CONSTITUTION?

Try as they might, our political potentials can no longer afford to ignore mass illegal immigration.

Wide-open borders and mass illegal immigration will be the death of us if we do not get it under control… Secure our borders, enforce all of our immigration laws, mandate E-Verify nationwide, close the “Anchor Baby” loophole, and end all tax-paid benefits to illegal aliens.

Why should close to 8 million jobs be held by illegal aliens? Unemployment would be cut in half at virtually no expense by just enacting E-Verify alone.

For all of the “dire economic” discussions and “lack of jobs” projections being reported on FOX News, these pundits mostly ignore the 10,000-pound elephant in the room – mass illegal immigration and its ever-escalating detrimental costs to the American people.

It’s time to end this open-border charade and get back to the Constitution and the rule of law. The rule of law should apply to all; not just a select few – the struggling middle class.

Yeah, California now calls it “English LEARNERS” instead of NON-ENGLISH-SPEAKING.
‘Scuse me, aren’t ALL children learning English?
What identifies them is, they CANNOT speak English.
Never mind the fact that speaking English is a REQUIREMENT for citizenship, but is ignored in their hocus-pocus – POOF! – You’re a citizen! conversions of millions of illegals during amnesties. Our representatives ONLY care about re-elections, which means they only care about VOTES, which means they are always looking to endear themselves to a voter base. This is NOT how our government was intended! TERM LIMITS, NO PACS, NO LOBBYISTS, and $100 LIMIT on campaign contributions – no corporations or unions or non-profits – only voters. Then, to top it all off a SEALED BORDER ! Heck, Go for a Herman-Cain Bug-Zapper fence! Such a fence will NOT be killing people! It is the THREAT of death that will keep people alive! It will SAVE lives by closing the farm-to-market road for drugs from mexico to the u.s., shutting down cartels overnight! This will mean TENS OF THOUSANDS of mexicans will not be killed by drug cartels. It will mean that they won’t die in our deserts sneaking across the border. Gov’t agencies have them in secure locations. You don’t hear of people getting killed all the time do you? Why? Because people will not even TRY IT ! The imminent threat of death is the great equalizer, just as carrying firearms always makes streets safer!

To Mil-Dot, who said: “Why shouldn’t Romney hire the Illegal aliens that Perry lets in?”

Perry has no power to prevent illegal aliens from coming across the border. That’s his whole point. The federal government interferes with all attempts by states to do anything about illegal immigration. Perry has stated he would secure the southern border if he is elected President.

      interesting post.
i still don’t understand why potential candidates are not directly questioned about such things. I believe they are of great significance.. if you manage a state and crap is happening..or has happened…they need to man up and tell us why.

Perry and Romney look like two little biotches bickering in a school yard brawl.. just stupid and derading

Mitt lost us completely last night…he’s a condescending rich boy..
His smirky little smile..putting his hand on Perry’s shoulder…pandering to the stupidity that he thinks makes him look like a president.
Mitt did well withe Olympics…only, only because the LDS church rallied volunteers, thousands of volunteers, to his cause . The church swept in and took over and it was a success, we all know that.

Perry never talks about the border and things that are going on in his state. He knows about the schools and obviously condones it… “dream act”??? hell, immigrants get treated better than citizens in Tx.
so who won…??? Obama ! I imagine he’s at home salivating over the field of republican candidates.. bickering like fools…soooo beatable at this point..

      http://www.moneynews.com/StreetTalk/Laffer-Cain-tax-plan/2011/10/19/id/414998?s=al&promo_code=D49D-1

Economist and former Reagan adviser Arthur Laffer says Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 tax plan is a good one.

“(The) plan was designed to be what economists call ‘static revenue neutral,’ which means that if people didn’t change what they do under his plan, total tax revenues would be the same as they are under our current tax code,” Laffer writes in The Wall Street Journal, adding that he believes that with the boost Cain’s plan would give to economic growth it would bring in even more revenue than expected.

“Once the dynamics take hold, many of those below the poverty line will find good jobs and thus will rise above the poverty line and start paying taxes,” says Laffer.

The country is quickly coming to the question that “who would be the best conservative candidate if Perry and Romney weren’t in the debates”.

The smartest person in the room seems to be Gingrich. Cain seems the most convinced, Bachmann seems to be the most sensitive and sincere, and Paul seems to have the most fiscal sense. All those whom I just mentioned should have a operational part of the new administration.

Romney is the white version of Obama, except this time the white electorate will be fooled.

      You’re right.

Romney’s arrogance is sickening. He acts as if the debates ARE ONLY ABOUT HIM, and
in Obama-like nastiness style, he scolds and personally attacks & demeans others,
insisting they SHUT UP and let HIM to talk.

THIS is what can be expected from Romney IF he becomes POTUS.

He’s arrogant, a bully and fast on his feet with scrambling a lie, flipping it, and making
it fit where he needs it to be believed as a truth.
Here again, in Obama-like fashion, Romney is good at ON DEMAND FLIP FLOPPING!

Newt stands out having solid experience and backbone.
People had better wise up and recognize we must have someone who WILL go
      “toe-to-toe” – eyeball-to-eyeball” – “facst-to-facts” with Obama.

Obama HAS NOTHING TO RUN ON EXCEPT ATTACKING OTHERS CHARACTER.
NEWT IS SMART & WILL HOLD HIS OWN on any attempt Obama WILL make about his past –
BUT – NEWT WOULD FORCE OBAMA TO STAND UP STRAIGHT AND TAKE THE
BUTT KICKING HE DESERVES AND HANG HIMSELF TRYING TO DEFEND HIS OWN

I suspect it’s because he does not say the expedient thing whilst holding his hand out behind him out of view collecting the croney donations. Newt is not populaf with the elites in Washington D.C. I have even made friends with parents of my kids friends from school and had a father do some work for me and then found out they are all here illegally. If this country would stop inviting them to come illegally we would not need to profile our friends and neighbors let alone gardeners. They come here for all the free stuff and I can’t blame them. STOP INVITING THEM! I bet Rick has hired an illegal but didn’t know it.

    My #1 Issue, Illegal Immigration.
Perry lives in glass house and threw stones.
    Not very smart..
Fence on southern border not for keeping people out.
DOUBLE FENCE, as Bachmann says, is a symbol.
Open Border Advocated such as La Raza says that being in America illegally is not a Felony.
But, having to climb TWO fences and crossing a no man’s land is a sure sign that you have just did an illegal action. There is NO excuse. Walking across the border is a simple thing.
Perry and his Texas version of the DREAM Act is breaking Federal Immigration Law. It specifically state that you CANNOT give Illegals anything NOT offered to ALL AMERICANS!
12 States have passed this AGAINST Federal Immigration Law.
Yet Obama Admin sues AZ and AL, yet does not sue these 12 states.
    WHY?
    I think we know why.
    And the Socialists win, again.
However, other than two questions that were preambled with a Liberal ideology, Cooper did a decent job.
This does NOT mean I forgive him for that “Tea ******” comment, but he did pit each Candidate against each other. THIS is what is needed, and as bad as I hate to say it Cooper did a good job.

Rick Perry has successfully managed the 13th largest economy in the world, TEXAS, and it’s booming. of course it still has high unemployment, even while hiring in the tens of thousands per month – everybody is coming here! he may not debate well but he sticks by his positions and is a far more reliable conservative than Romney who has been vocal in support of healthcare mandates, anti-gun laws, cap and trade among other very liberal progressive positions. Herman Cain tried to un-say what he said just hours before about swapping terrorist combatants for hostages – at least Romney waits a while before opposing his own positions (like the amount of time between the hardback and papaerback editions of his book)!

While I don’t believe Bauchman could win, I have to give her kudos for consistenly taking a stand against Obama, the one they are trying to defeat, and not each other. This bickering against each other has to stop. It totally turns me off. Santorem not letting Romney speak, taking up his time, and then telling him his time was up was unbelievable. I wish they would only focus on what they will do to bring this country back to what it once was, and be respectful to the other candidates.

Remember that we are spending 338,3 billion a year on illegals in the form of medicade(free healthcare) welfare, elementary and jr high education, imprisonment etc. Perry is billing the tax payer for imprisoning them..and his jobs growth predated his governorship…plus he wants to send them to college..make us pay for it at a discount and make our kids pay their own jacked up rates. He’s done wonders in keeping Katrina victims, and didn‘t someone post that he’s forcing muslim trash down school children’s throats.. good presidential material…kind of like the one we already have.

    @theblaze.com
You should be ashamed… You moderated and stopped nearly all of my posts during the live showing of the debate. You skewed the posts and created a bias in the posts. People were calling Ron Paul an isolationist, and were mad because he wants to cut ALL FOREIGN AID because it is unconstitutional. I was unable to defend him, yet you let many people smear him. I am disappointed in the bias of the supposed site of “truth”.

Ron Paul is a non-interventionist like our founders (look it up), not an isolationist, which is the opposite. He said he wanted to cut foreign aid to all countries, including Israel, because it makes them dependent on us instead of funding their own military. We are BROKE. I am so disappointed with the bias of these moderators and with the mentality that if you don’t agree 100% with Glenn Beck, then you are some kind of outsider.

I‘m not sure in today’s world we can be separatists, totally out of other countries, but I’ll agree that we need to cut way back. If we brought home just half the deployed troops, stationing them AT HOME, possibly as border patrol, think of all the money that would be spent at home instead of military bases and foreign economies. Some of those troops deployed overseas are accompanied. Bring home enough to leave just a small contingent in places that are dangerous. Remember things changed when they could launch a nuclear warhead from their country and hit us.

However, he will NEVER be a viable candidate as long as he has such MoonBats as supporters.
      Simple as that.
And next Election, he will be TOO OLD.
Thanks to his rabid supporters, he was NEVER a Contender.

So i am just asking do you not want to stand with Israel? Or just not give them money? Cause i know our founders were also men of God and if so then do we not stand with the Nation God calls his people? I don’t want to add words to your statement that is why i am asking. I know you didn’t say not stand with them just to cut ad. But if so then what is your idea of standing with them? I am all for cutting but i am not for leaving Gods Nation out by themselves when they are surrounded by people trying to destroy them. Maybe you are but i know i don’t want a president who is going to turn there back on in my eye a very special Nation and the Jews. I believe that the more we stand with them the more blessed this Nation will be.

I supported Glenn when he stood for Israel, both morally and financially. However, I feel like there are a growing number of Glenn Beck supporters, who blindly agree rather blindly. I get the feeling when I listen to his show now that he cares more about Israel than our own United States. I will stand with Israel, but how can we support them financially if we cannot even support ourselves? They may be a country of God, but they are still a socialist country, and thus do not carry the God-given rights we do. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Also, although they may be God’s country, I am a Christian, and they are a Jewish State. They choose to be Jewish and not follow Jesus, so I am not as on board about calling their God, my God. I am not a religious zealot, but I just don’t see a reason to treat Israel better than anyone else… Currently our foreign aid HURTS Israel more because we supply their enemies with more money and weapons than we do Israel; much of it through corruption.

If we treat EVERYONE equally, no unfair market deals, no favoritism, we can be friends with all. Although many of you hate Islam, know that there are many wonderful Muslims in the world, and they do see us as bullies and occupiers when we go into their country and stay there for many years. I know many will now compare me to the left, but please spare the left/right politics, I am for Liberty, not some political game.

I hope Romney and Perry bicker themselves right out of the race.
I just listened to the last of the debate and Gingrich just scolded Cooper for the way they set up the debate so that most of the time was spent on Romney and Perry bickering between themselves. He was right. And Bachmann jumped in and wouldn’t let Cooper keep her silent too.
    It was a bogus debate……….

If the candidate is going to level a charge, let the person respond without interrupting their response to your question. I personally think it is dam scary that Perry could potentially be the president of the U.S.. The guy received a D in economics in college and he majored in Animal Science where he also received C‘s and D’s. Perry does not belong on that stage. Perry is the personification of crony capitalism.

Perry signed into law a Bill to support instate tuition for illegal aliens, rejected a proposed bill resembling that of Arizona‘s SB1070 and hasn’t done much to stop the growing number and size of sanctuary Cities in his State. Many of the jobs created in Texas are federally funded jobs and Government positions. Very much resembling Maryland’s (my State) rapid development around the DC area due to massive federal jobs and funds comming into the State. One of the reasons why buisnesses are moving to Texas is because there is abundant cheap labour without the hassle of adding benefits or a long term contract for their employees, thanks to illegal aliens. His dealings with companies and their interests concerns me, see his support for the Trans-Texas Corridor (a massive private-land grab and intended for a NAU) and his executive order for an HPV Vaccine. His State’s debt has doubled during his Governorship. Texas has ranked, during his two terms, as one of the lowest perfoming States in Public Education. About 60,000 anchor babies are born in the State annually. He had originally avoided or ignored a proposed bill restricting the TSA.

Cain is a front runner for the office of the President of the U.S.. Cain has a bold controversial plan so he needs to be able to defend his plan. I find many flaws in the plan and my assessment was similar to Bachman’s review of the plan. Cain needs to defend the plan better than telling people to go to his website. I have read many negative reviews and analysis of the plan and at this point I agree with many that it is dangerous to add a national sales tax in addition to an income tax. I do think Anderson should have controlled the chaos better, but the questions had to be asked.

I don‘t and my neighbors don’t. Do you know how much it costs to do a backgorund check? It cost me $500 to do a background check on my babysitter.
