Arlen Specter: ‘Romney Has Changed Positions More Often Than a Pornographic Movie Queen’

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter took a shot at GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney Wednesday by comparing him to an adult film star.

Appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” the Republican-turned-Democratic senator made the comment after being asked to weigh in on the future of the GOP.
“The Republican Party has moved so far to the right, you can’t recognize Mitt Romney. What Mitt Romney will appear in October? Mitt Romney has changed positions more often than a pornographic movie queen,” Specter said.
As the Huffington Post pointed out, Specter was paraphrasing a recent joke by HBO comedian Bill Maher, who said of Romney earlier this month: “Porn stars don’t change positions as much as this guy.”
Specter’s quip brought some awkward chuckles from the “Morning Joe” panel, and prompted co-host Joe Scarborough to cut to some footage of Specter’s recent stand-up comedy routines.
