Spielberg, Clooney, Hanks Give Maximum Contributions to Obama’s Reelection Bid

Steven Spielberg and George Clooney Donate to Barack Obama 2012 Campaign

While this may come as no surprise, dyed in the wool Hollywood liberals are throwing their financial backing behind President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign en-force. Among the names are Steven Spielberg, George Clooney and Tom Hanks.

According to data gathered on OpenSecrets.org, Clooney made a $2,500 contribution for the primary and another $2,500 donation for the presidential race while infamous filmmaker Spielberg gave $30,800 to the DNC on Apr. 26; $8,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on July 31; and two $2,500 donations to Barack Obama on Apr. 26.

CNSNews adds:

Spielberg also gave the maximum $2,500 to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Aug. 25; two $2,500 donations to Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) on June 21; another $2,500 to Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) on Mar. 31; and another $2,500 to Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.) on Sept. 19.

Some of Spielberg’s fellow filmmakers joined him in directing their contributions toward Democratic causes.  Director Ron Howard gave $1,000 to the Democratic CongressionalGeorge Clooney and Barack Obama attend National Press Club Campaign Committee, while Rob Reiner and Cameron Crowe donated $5,000 and $500, respectively, to the same committee.  Crowe also contributed the yearly maximum of $2,500 to President Obama (for both primary and general election, total: $5,000).

Singer-songwriter Neil Young gave the maximum: $30,800 to the DNC on Apr. 22, and two $2,500 donations to Obama on Apr. 12.

Neil’s wife, Pegi Young, also gave the maximum: $30,800 to the DNC and two $2,500 donations to Obama on Apr. 14, 2011.

While many of these Hollywood celebrities are indeed the “usual suspects” among Obama supporters, one Tinseltown campaign contribution Obama probably won’t receive this time around is from actor Matt Damon, who The Blaze reported as saying:

“I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician’…You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better.”

    We trusted in supporting these people and boy was I dumb in thinking our leisure time was not taken over as well. It’s a sad time knowing this has what it has come down to, International Elites vrs. the US citizens.       While I TOTALLY disagree with their politics, I have to admire the fact that they step up and financially support their “god” Obama. Of course we all know where their money (which they got from people who buy their entertainment) will wind up.

      I wonder what would happen if every American who claims to be a Christian determined to give 10% of their income to a local church or worthy missions projects?

      Hollyweird should be boycotted. This is part of whats wrong with the system. They donate to out of their home state politican to influence national elections the same way unions do, oh wait, they are union. Fill your time with a good book, God, Family and friends.Get more active in the conservative community.

      If we don’t stop supporting these morons in Hollywood they will never get the message. It is time to save the money spent on DVD’s, movies, etc. and put it somewhere it is appreciated – even if it is a $5.00 DVD. There are no protesters in Hollywood, or on the lawns of the rich and famous stars, and all of Hollywood is unionized to support Obama. Wake up and quit wasting your hard-earned dollars on people who will sell you down the river.

      I quite going to movies years ago, no longer have cable, use Netflix for conservative tv. Love Friday Night Lights because they aren’t afraid to pray, and teach kids to do the right thing. I’m sick of having gays pushed in my face and telling me to accept them. It all revolts me, and I see how Hollywood is destroying our children. The little girls dress like prostitues and look forward to finding a “rich” daddy.
      This country is being destroyed and Hollywood and their messages are helping it go over the clift.

O. taking credit for giving the people $40 for 2 months when Boener’s plan was for a year.       I am a cousin of Tom Hanks as well. I wish I could talk to him somehow but he does not interact with our part of the family anymore. I don’t think it would make a difference anyway. These guys are just covering their bets so they don‘t get targeted by the Dark Prince’s onslought if he does win the election. $10,000 is nothing to these celebs, its pocket money for them.

      Still, it is embarrassing to have a famous relative contributing to the corruption of America. It makes me sad, I was really hoping for a more conservative position from him this time around.

My line was “Congratz to all of yall who watch anything made by these guys or support anything with these guys hands in it, you just donated money to elect someone who hates you.” Dont the unions and any else with power know that they are first on the list to die when a dictatorship comes to power….     Thank You Speelberg for ET and Schindlers List….Won’t be supporting ANY of your movies ever again.And you are Jewish. Cannot understand how you support Obummer who is NOT a FRIEND to Israel.
    Thank You Tommy Hanks for BIG and Apollo 13. Can’t spend any money on your films. My daughter wants to go to college so all my movie $ goes towards her.
    Thank You George Klooney FOR NOT MARRYING. (we really don’t need any little klooneys running around) BUT your aunt Rosemary was a great singer.

    Proud to say the last movie I saw in a theater was ATLAS SHRUGGED.

    Hanks, Clooney or Spielberg , haven’t gotten any of my money for years. When one of the their movies or shows comes on TV, I find something else to watch. Stop giving these communists money and make them poor and then lets see how they feel about life.

      I‘m afraid it won’t be possible to make them poor. They’ve started focusing their efforts more on Europe and seem to be racking in the dough there. Must mean they are already feeling the cold, icy winds blow from the U.S. citizens.

      Here’s a great idea! Let them all move to Europe. One to Greece, one to Italy, one to Spain or Portugal. Let them use their millions to bolster the economies of those failed socialist countries. Wonder how long their fortunes would last over there.

      It’s a shame, I kind of wanted to see that one too. My grandfather was in those trenches in France. You’re right though, we do have to make a stand on this stuff. Missing anything Clooney or Hanks does is no skin off my nose though.

      “Hunt for Red October” was the last time I spent money at a theatre.
      Almost 22 years ago.
      Anything else was given me by the kids.
      Jon Voight acts rings around Clooney. Spielberg is a juvenile hack. Hanks claim to fame is the worried look and excessive mugging. Obamas acting career is almost over. Merry Christmas everybody.
