liberals use poor people and keep them dependant on the govt dime and
that is about how they treat them to have
    barely enough to get by
    unless you become deceptive and
lie to the govt which is evidently very easy to do,
because fraud in govt programs is rampant!
Once on the slippery slope their lives spirals downward.
Govt dole does not engender self respect but the opposite and
low self esteem on a ginormous scale!
These people are fearful to lose what little they have
because they do not feel they can do any better themselves
after being subjected to social workers for any length of time!
they would have a negative effect on anyone..believe me…
I saw what happened to my brother over time and
the crap he went through…and all the hoops he had to jump thru…sick!

I remember all the older people at the Tea Party rally that held up signs saying “Keep the Government’s hands off my Medicare” (which of course was hilarious)
I guess they voted in the party that will do just that.

My mom and her husband are birthers and Tea Party members. They worked for the Government, now live on the benefits and pensions and have medicare.
It will be interesting to see what they think of this.
Funny, they don’t want to discuss politics at this moment….

and there always will be.No matter how much central planning we have and this fool Wallis wants it won’t make any difference. If you keep people comfortable being poor they’ll stay that way.

Even satan can quote Scripture and appears as “an angel of light”.

“Do not be deceived. GOD is NOT MOCKED. For whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap.

…And let us not grow weary while doing good for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Wallis has always been a lying hypocritical douche masquerading as a Christian. His religion is socialism. He doesn’t understand biblical morality at all. The concept that able bodied men should not be on welfare is foreign to him. But St. Paul would understand it, because he taught it.

No. I disagree with him theologically. As I am a theologian that is my baileywick. I hate liberation theology because it misinterprets the nature of the Kingdom of God and the nature of man. Wallis’ socialist Gospel follows from his denial of Original Sin and Total Depravity. If he truly believed those things he would never put his trust in any worldly power to do the work of the Gospel.

The stupid Blaze deleted my comment. There are such jerks.

My point was that I do not recognize as a minister of God someone unless he manifests evidence that he is one. Merely having the title means nothing. Not does having a divinity degreee. Given what some seminaries teach divinity degrees don’t tell you anything about what the possessor might know. All manner of ministers, theologians, bishops and popes have been knaves and fools. Alexander VI, the Borgia Pope comes to mind as a great douchebag. I’m an ex-Episcopalian and I can tell you that the vast majority of priests and bishops in that church are douches, dupes or schumcks. the good active bishops I can count on my hands.

What church? You do know they are not all the same, don’t you? Try finding a better one. The only thing is don’t expect people in them to be perfect. If you’re honest you will recognize that you are far from prefect as well. But look for one that emphasizes the Gospel rather than politics. There you atre likelier to find decent spiritual guidance and fellowship. Faith is often lonely without faithful friends, especially when the crap hits the fan, as it soon will.

As God said in the beginning, “It is not good that man should be alone”. If you can’t find a church that will help you in your walk you are either not looking hard enough, or you need to move.

Xpat, according to the scriptures, the Church is the body of belivers, not a building. Those meeting in a building, are simply a microcosm of the society in which they reside, both good and bad. Pursue the Lord as an individual, but realize that when you stay away, your special gift is not being expressed to those who need it to grow.

There’s an old, very true, saying, “Poor people have poor ways.“ We should resurrect the concept of the ”deserving poor,” and help those who could not, for reasons over which they have absolutely no control, support themselves. But, if you’re honest, “being around poor people” will open your eyes to why they are poor. We certainly should not adopt their way of looking at the world, and organize our country around their point of view. That’s a sure way to make us all poor.

Two indian tribes Souix and Lumberton, the Souix were recognized by the Gov’t and given lavish handouts, billions. Go out there and see the reservation and you find abject poverty. Homes with no doors or windows, broken down, run down. The Lumbertons were never recognized by the gov’t, did not get a dime from them, and they live in million dollar mansions. Figure it out for yourself, and do verify it.

He pretended to criticize Democrats with soft swats so that he could justify punching the Republicans while calling himself neutral and above politics of the left and right. You are a False teacher, and empty cloud, seeking to deceive you teach for scripture the doctrines of man.
It is not yet time Jim Wallis for you to hear the word of the Lord, but there is such a time in your very near future.
Any mandate by a STATE by which wealth is transferred from one person to another person is NOT under GOD an act of caring for the poor in a righteous GOD ordained manner. And is of no effect, counts for nothing, as it is the individual that is held personally responsiable to do “unto thy brother”. By whatever name you choose to call it Wallis, a Government mandate of forced participation in a socialist “helps” program is……..theft.
You are a False teacher Wallis not worthy of the title you assume. Of all men in GODs creation I find it most difficult of all to “ be at peace” with and to “forgive” men like you. But I shall endeavor to do as my LORD and savior Jesus instructed me to and in living in peace and by forgiving men like you I turn you lose to judge yourself by your own words. Mind you my flesh says to act in a much different manner, but I war against my fleshly desire so I might please my GOD.

      @BETTERDAYS ~
Isn’t it sweet when we can recognize BS when we hear it?

When we have the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Federalist Papers and the like online and read them, we know where we stand. We know what the right direction is for the citizens of the United States.

When we hear BS like this guy, and those like JZS, AKMIIKEUS, et al, we recognize the fact that they want Socialism because they are too lazy to get off their butts and earn their own living, to save in order to provide a bit of financial security for themselves. They keep drooling over all the money the wealthy have
EARNED and believe that the government should just hack their checking and savings accounts.

Money is not the root of all evil; THE LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil. This regime in power LOVES MONEY and therefore is an evil regime. The Progressives are spending money they do not have, running up the debt with no conscience. The end game is to bankrupt America, to cause such chaos as to make people beg for peace and quiet, and thus overthrow the government (before Obama Soetoro is handcuffed and hauled off to jail).

Paul Ryan is no bully. Paul Ryan is a fiscal genious. He sees the train coming on the track and is trying desperately to prevent America from becoming victims of the proposed slaughter when the Progressives have so wrecked our freedoms, our way of life, and caused such discord that they literally shred the Constitution and replace it with their own (WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN!).

Bullies resort to scare tactics, name calling, and Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Progressives are the bullies. Progressives are putting into place little bits of legislation piece by piece, such as their next project — small arms control or REMOVAL of hand guns from the general public. Conservatives are standing strong and not backing down. We understand.

DON’T TREAD ON ME! May God bless America and keep us safely in His Hands. IN GOD WE TRUST.

There are some words in the English language that almost all citizens consider evil or bad. Some of these words are a racist, conspiracy, steal, fraud, thief, crook, rapist or terrorist. Rich, socialist, communist, fascist or charlatan have bad implications with many citizens. One tried and true propaganda tactic to discredit an adversary or agenda is to link the subject with one of these words. It is not necessary to prove that these words actually apply to the adversary, with propaganda you only make the accusation and repeat it until the public links the adversary with the evil word.

The wannabe tyrants have invested considerable time and money to make the word “RACIST” so dreaded, feared and terrible. They have been so successful that is only necessary to mention something in the same sentence with the word racist to demonize it.

The tyrant’s premises are false. So the only arguments that the tyrant can use are fear mongering, emotion, sarcasm, ridicule, attacking the messenger and misrepresentation of the facts (lying). Those who expect to reach huge profits from the misery caused by tyranny are experts at these tactics. These tactics are very effective when the tyrant controls most of the media. Do not be duped by repetition. The 10,000th repetition of the lie is no more valid than the initial statement.

Mr. Wallis. For nearly a century people like you have declared your war on poverty, and your political mandate to let no one suffer or hunger. Yet each time someone comes around to point out the fact that your method does’nt work, you begin reciting the plight of the same folks you’ve spent a century saving. So I guess my question to all the folks that think like you is, if your method is so effective how come you always have so many pitiful stories to tell? The answer my friend is in the very book you claim to teach. Proverbs 12:27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. The Bible also decribes your relationship with those whom you seek to save: Proverbs 18:9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster. I hope Mr. Wallis that your goal is to give to the poor that gift which shall make them as rich as Solomon himself: Salvation.

Betterdays has it exactly right. As Glenn has said, charity comes from a man’s heart….not through a forced government socialist/communist program. The Bible tells us many places to take care of the poor, but not for government to ‘TAKE’ our wealth and redistribute it as it see fit. Redistribution is not charity; it’s Communism! Many churches have been corrupted by the misinterpretation of caring for the poor….good intentions, but not socialism and communism.

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” Winston Churchill

Jim Wallis is living proof that Omamma is Muslim. Only a Muslim would put such an ignorant fool out into the public arena to destroy the Christian faith in such a deceptive way.

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”. James Madison

Please look not only at Jim Wallis, but all of the corrupt, incompetent, socialist, marxists that surround Omamma and also have been placed in high positions of our government by the marxist muslim. Time for action is now.

Over my lifetime working I have earned on average less than $10,000 per year. I know this because the statement I received from Socialism Security told me so. So guess that puts me on or below the poverty line. I’m poor? HA! I’m rich, rich in blessings, rich in love for my fellow man, rich in faith, rich because Jesus set me free! I have never lacked a roof over my head, of food for my stomach. I always seem to have plenty of everything I need and most of what I desire. How can this be? I give 10-20% back to GOD first, and then I help others in need, and then I pay my bills, and then I have everything I need. GOD gets the glory, for HIS word does not return unto him void.
I’m not working right now, but even at home I earn my keep. Being humble beats humiliation, and no task is below me.
Actually, I work for GOD, but hold no mans paper saying that I can, like I require that.lol.
I don’t take hand outs, but I will take a hand up.
And in 20 years when I might have received SSI, I won’t because most of it you would pay for compared to what I paid for. My fellow men, I love you too much to use you for my own gain.

Let’s get some context. Here is more of what he is thinking:

Two-thirds of the long term budget cuts that Ryan proposed are directed at modest and low-income people, as well as the poorest of the poor at home and abroad. At the same time, he proposed tax cuts up to 30 percent for some of our country’s wealthiest corporations. Let me say that again: Two-thirds of the cuts come at the expense of already struggling people and families, while corporations posting record profits get tax breaks. In short, the most vulnerable members of society are being attacked by Ryan and his supporters. This makes them bullies.

In dramatic contrast, Ryan has chosen to help the people who need help the least. Wealthy individuals and companies reap a windfall of benefits in Ryan’s plan — with tax cuts and breaks, continued subsidies and loopholes for every powerful special interest, and increased corporate welfare payments from the government. Congressman Ryan and his supporters have carefully and faithfully rewarded the rich people who make their campaign contributions, and, in most cases, have also rewarded themselves as rich people.

You may think that my language sounds too strong: “bullies”, “corrupt”, “hypocrites.” But listen to the prophet Isaiah:
“Doom to you who legislate evil, who make laws that make victims — laws that make misery for the poor, that rob my destitute people of dignity, exploiting defenseless widows, taking advantage of homeless children. What will you have to say on Judgment Day, when Doomsday arrives out of the blue? Who will you get to help you? What good will your money do you?” (Isaiah 10:1-3, The Message)

The president succeeded yesterday by making this important statement: “In the last decade, the average income of the bottom 90 percent of all working Americans actually declined. Meanwhile, the top 1 percent saw their income rise by an average of more than a quarter of a million dollars each. That’s who needs to pay less taxes?

I‘m imagining the conversation you’ll all have with St. Peter. “Yeah, I believe all that stuff Christ said about helping the poor. That’s why I give to my church. But didn’t Christ also say that our government should distribute the wealth upward to the 400 families who own 40% of the country? Didn’t Christ want me to vote for politicians who give tax breaks to the richest and at the expense of the middle class and the poor? Where in the Bible does is say that a “country” should support the poorest among us St. Peter? I thought it was the will of Christ that the rich should become richer and the poor and middle class should become poorer.”

Good luck with that argument when you have it. Feel free to practice your stance here, “Well, Gee, God, all the people I listened to were talking about what I should be against, it never occurred to me to think about the people I should be supporting.”

You, quoting the prophet Isaiah. That’s rich.
“Doom to you who legislate evil, who make laws that make victims” Do you really want to go there? Really? I know what you SHOULD be thinking right now.

I would tell you that you are full of s**t, but you are so full of yourself, there is no room for s**t.

Billy, sorry I didn’t make it clear that I was quoting from a blog Wallis wrote. I forgot the quotation marks. The first sentence and last two paragraphs I wrote, the rest are Wallis’ words.

      Nice catch.

Ok, so on that point, Wallis is the hippocite instead of you.

This person is the type I speak of in all my warnings of our Country will be destroyed by fake bleeding harts that think our tax money grows on trees and he always looking in the wallet of the rich. The rich, if you will, should not be made to take care of programs the rev. are talking about. No one should go hungry, or without shelter. However our tax money should not pay for irresponsibly people that will not protect themselves from unwanted pregnancy, that goes for the male and female. You make that mistake, you should pay the price. If you are poor, it is not our place to make you live like those that tax money you suck up.Many of these so called poor live like people making $60,000 a year. It is time to put a stop to this nonsense. Food, clothing, and shelter. It is not the rich’s fault they made the wrong choices.

Hey people, i propose you just read all the comments in this thread again. And again. And then you ask yourself: How can people that say they are christian, and more so than many others, that say they hold the christian believes high and stand by the lord speak put that vile?

Do you really think you are acting right in the eyes of God? Spouting hate, making vile remarks, judging left and right? I dont care if he is a man of god or a communist whatever, most of the comments here a NOT christian. If anything they may be inspired by Satan or something like that.

Did Jesus teach you to hate? To judge? To cast the first stone?

If thats what hardcore christianity looks like in reallity, maybe we would be better of with islam? at least they dont pretent to be forgiving, loving and wathnot…

Oh, and i nearly forgot what Jesus told us!

Only turn the other cheek if you dont think holy America is in danger!
Cast the first stone if its directed at a satanist communist!
Take up your sword and give the filthy muslims hell!
Give god what is gods, but give Obama friggin hell!
Just read the scripture, its all in there! America is Gods own country, Israel is merely an outpost…

Its good to see that Jesus words are so well known here and everybody just wants to follow him. Just like he came down from the heavens and purged to world of romans. He did, didnt he?

If there is anything like a God and Satan everyone reading the comments here knows which of them rules over your minds. A hint: perhaps you should look more like, you know, down to earth while prying to your hellish saviour…

Wallis gets his talking points from the same place Obama does: the TOTUS.
