Spooky: Lightning Strikes Caylee Anthony Memorial Site Hours After Mother’s Sentencing

This one’s a bit spooky. Just hours after Casey Anthony was sentenced (she’ll be released on July 17), lightning struck a tree in Orange County, Florida. While this may seem benign on the surface, the tree that was hit is actually a makeshift memorial for the woman’s deceased daughter — Caylee Anthony. CNN has more:
No one saw lightning strike the pine tree on Suburban Drive in Orange County, Florida, where teddy bears and flowers mark the spot where 2-year-old Caylee’s remains were found on December 11, 2008.
But long, diagonal strips of exposed wood scarred the tall pine tree, WESH reported, and bits of bark lay scattered across the road.
“It could be a sign from the angels that they aren‘t happy with what’s happened,” a visitor to the site told the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. “The rain, the lightning, the storm – it‘s the heavens indicating they aren’t happy.”
Watch below for more on this bizarre occurrence from WFMZ-TV:

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 4:52pmYep, she has put her punishment off for a later date, which isn’t really a wise thing to do. I’d rather pay now than later!

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 4:22pmWho knows, might be God saying he is proud of Casey for opening up about her father and saying justice is done and Caylee is relieved for her mom. We have no idea what really happened, but I believe George holds more guilt in this than Casey and think Casey was doing what George told her to do, lie about it. He claims he heard the nanny mentioned in Feb. 2008, what a liar and leech he is.

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 5:08pmMy Gosh… You have to be kidding with your comment????? IF it was George – would NOT Casey be hysterical when finding her dead child in his arms? During the trial Casey had NO problem throwing all of her family members under the bus to save herself, right? Why then did she not do it in 2008 and save herself 3 years in jail? Why, because she did it and just came up with that ridiculous defense in 2011. Justice was not served BUT it’s coming…

Posted on July 9, 2011 at 11:52amYou can believe what u want but there is no evidence for George being guilty of anything to do with this. Jose Baez saying it isn’t evidence. Are you really that dopey or are you just trying to stir things up?

Posted on July 10, 2011 at 4:11amFirst of all- before the child was even reported missing she had already decomposed to nothing but bones! The Defense did not know what their argument could be until the body was found and the coroner could not provide how the child died, only that it was homicide. Is it not strange that this story about the accidental drowning did not come out until after the body was found? Imagine they told this story before the body was found, and by some chance the coroner could definitively say that the child did not die as a result of drowning. I do not care who you are, how liberal your brain must be that you could even think that this child’s death was anything other than murder. Just explain the duck tape. I read one report that it was applied pre-mortem. Unless you can provide one helluva reason why there was duct tape on the body you can not logically defend this as an accident. AND- who was the tape linked too? Oh, from the family garage. The garage that Casey had access too. Just these two pieces of evidence alone should have been enough to convict her of negligent homicide.

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 3:12pmGotta watch out for that Florida lightening. Happens to most of us as we get closer to middle age … my hair’s been struck by lightening virtually every year since 1998 :(

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 3:11pmI believe with all of my heart that Casey Anthony is responsible for the death of this precious little girl. Unfortunately, the prosecution did not include negligent homicide or involuntary manslaughter as possible convictions. Perhaps this jury could have lived with one of these as a verdict choice. While Casey is totally irresponsible and a pathological liar, I don’t believe she acted with malice, nor do I believe she had the intention of killing Caylee. I am saddened that she is walking away stark free…God has definitely spoken through this one in a bizillion chance of Caylee’s memorial tree being struck by lightning!

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 12:52pmOur legal system is so screwed up that jurors cannot make a common sense decision about guilt or innocence. Maybe God is sending a clear message. Lawyers, stop rejoicing over an acquittal when you know your client is guilty. If I were Miss Anthony, I would be very careful how I lived my life now.

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 12:47pmHmm I don’t know. In Genesis it says anyone that takes the life of another must have their life taken by man. Obviously our obscurred judicial system won’t do it, so I dont know.

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 2:53pmAs you know, Genesis and the other books of the Old Testament were part of “the Law”. Christ was sent to die on the cross because God knew, in His infinite wisdom that man could never live by the law. Although I don’t agree with the verdict, I have to believe that God was not surprised. He’s not scratching His head in amazement. You can be sure that she will be punished. Even the jurors aren’t welcome in their own hometowns. Can you imagine what her life will be like. She’ll have to hide and disguise herself for many years to avoid scorn by the American people. Perhaps this is more just punishment than a prison cell.
