‘Stick It to Walker’: Protesters Target ‘Pro’-Wisconsin Gov Companies With Stickers at Stores

Fox News reports:
The massive protests against Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s controversial budget that paralyzed the state capital for weeks are now headed for the grocery stores.
But instead of marching outside stores with picket signs, protesters are planning more subversive action: placing anti-Walker stickers on products made by businesses they believe support the law that severely limits the collective bargaining power of most state workers.
The law is currently on hold pending a legal challenge.
The Wisconsin Grocery Association is warning its members to be on the lookout for opponents of Walker defacing some products in grocery stores on Sunday.
Walker opponents have urged consumers to boycott companies that have donated to the governor’s campaign.
There’s an effort under way to expand the boycott nationally by placing stickers on products in grocery stores.
Among the targeted products are Johnsonville brats (“these brats bust unions”), Coors beer (“labor rights flow away like a mountain stream”) and Angel Soft toilet paper.
This effort is being pushed by the same pro-union people who boycotted banks and stores whose management gave to Walker’s campaign.

Posted on April 29, 2011 at 9:43amThey were not wasting their time or their money. Remember these are probably the public empoyees that are funded by our tax dollars. It wasn’t their time when they were using paid sick days to protest common sense changes. You hired them to go to work and teach your children, not to drag them to protest the very system that provides them with employment. If your children were enrolled in a private school how long would you pay for this type of behavior, before you asked for your money back and/or put your children somwhere else. This can all be fixed in Nov. 2012.

Posted on April 28, 2011 at 10:27pmNot sure that placing stickers on store product is “defacing” those products, but whatever.
But polls show that if Walker up for election today he’d lose. He didn’t run on stripping union rights. And all the “good guys,” the police, the firefighters, teachers and so on now oppose him, especially after they conceded on every single financial concession Walker wanted.
Yeah, fine, Walker is wonderful. But, after seeing what he’s doing – that, again, he didn’t run on – the pendulum is going to swing back the other way. The unfortunate fact for Republicans is that most people who vote work for a living like you and me. People vote are working people with an average income. And they see what’s going on: Walker is cutting taxes for his rich benefactors and telling his constituency that they need to pay for his generous patronage of those who supported his election.
Sorry, the average person isn’t stupid.

If you see someone put a sticker on a product walk up to them and right in front of them pick up the product and thank them for point out how to support Gov Walker by supporting those companies that support him. I would and will, I will also make sure the management knows who put the sticker on the product and then they can call the police and have an eye witness to the defacing. Lets not take this lieing down and standing back and watching. Lets react in a positive way and foil their plots and plans. Let us let these people know that we the people are standing up for good sound goverement and will support those that are putting thier necks out on the line doing what we have been wanting done for decades. Go ahead a chat with your FEW firefighter friends. You are REALLY out of your league on this one buddy. Trust me. Seriously.
Go on, talk with them, and then you come back and let us know what they had to say.

Got any links for those polls ole buddy?
Not calling you a liar or anything, but I’d really like to see them.
Just wondering who took the polls, who did they poll, how were the questions phrased, and what were the statistical results?
I mean, we all know you never post bogus info or anything like that, but I would still like to see all the details.
You saying “Polls show” realy does not tell the whole story now, does it?

Report Post »Yeah, Im not completely up to speed on the whole “website” etiquette, sorry you had so much trouble reading it. Maybe if I had done a better job, you would have known that I am not retired, that there is one post from a friend, that is retired. But thank you for your input. Since you asked, I am not against unionization as long as it is what the people of that work place want. I am however, against, and stand starkly in opposition to what our Unions are standing for and especially who they are standing with. I do not believe the ends justify the means. I believe how we conduct ourselves in the present, the example we set for our children, is more important than the security of my pension, the security of the home I worked long and hard to secure. In short I think that it is more important to do what is right, to secure freedom for all, before personally securing my financial future.

The “…polls show if the election were held today…” line is such a crock, the pointless childish ‘argument’ of someone who has no leg to stand on. And for one big reason: the election isn’t being held today.

Yea, I know that, and you know that, and I know that you know that I know that.
But I just love playing with my little pet troll. It’s soooooooooo much fun.
Right now he’s scouring the internet trying to find some pertinent polls he can post.
And if he finds a few, that’s ok too, because we know they will be bogus polls, and we can rip them to shreds.
But most likely we will not hear from him again an this thread. That is his modus operandi.
Have a good one my friend.

I agree. It’s a scary thought that I can even entertain the idea that the left would do something like that to achieve their ends, but I honestly think they are capable of doing something like that. After all, it would create a crisis thus giving them another opportunity to grab more power.

I’m not a union member and I work for a non-union company (I’m in management besides). I am sure there are good unions and some unethical ones. But the anti-union sentiment I’m hearing is that in order to pay for increasingly larger tax breaks for the wealthiest, firefighters, teachers, cops and the common working man need to take pay cuts. I’m hearing that firefighter are paid to much, teachers are paid too much and that, in general the common working man has no say whatsoever in his pay or working condition. I just don’t agree with that.

Gee thanks for the link there buddy. Took you a while, but better late than never.
Somehow I just knew you were a huffpo kind of person.
1. The poll is more than 2 MONTHS OLD. (Kinda negates your “If election was held TODAY theory)
2. 768 total people polled:
414 were women
354 were men
3. It was a robo-phone poll.
Thanks, but from the reactions I’m seeing here, and all over the country, I’ll wait for the ONLY poll that means anything. NOVEMBER 2012
Is Johnsonville a publicly traded company? (Looks like their profits might me on the rise)

Posted on April 30, 2011 at 8:19amI say let them do it…Progressives always tout themselves as being so much “smarter” than the rest of us; however, the “sticky note” campaign was started here in Georgia way before they came up with the idea….at least their idea will allow me to decide which “union busting” companies I’ll buy from.
