Stimulus Funds Helped ‘Climate Change’ Research…in Maldives, India and Australia?

The U.S. Department of Energy released a statement last week revealing it used $60 million of the $1.2 billion given to the agency in economic stimulus funds for purchasing “advanced-technology research instruments” to study climate change. While some might consider the expenditure frivolous, especially given the nation’s financial woes, it should be noted that some of the equipment was not even intended for use in the U.S. but rather was deployed to facilities in the Maldives, India and Australia.
CNSNews reports:
The DOE’s Atmospheric Radiation Measurement, or ARM program, was launched more than two decades ago as a way to improve scientific models for climate research and weather prediction. In a statement released on Aug. 18 on the Recovery.gov Web site – the site tracking the $821-billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 – ARM is described by the Obama administration as a program focused on climate change.
“A Department of Energy program that studies global climate change has nearly finished deploying 143 advanced-technology research instruments bought with $60 million in Recovery funding,” the announcement states. “The instruments–some new, others newly upgraded–will provide more precise measurements for researchers to use in developing computer models that simulate the earth’s climate.”
“The models are used to study climate changes,” the announcement states.
ARM is reportedly part of the DOE’s Office of Science and includes facilities worldwide.
The statement alleges the “advanced radar equipment” will “more closely study the interaction of major components of climate systems.”
Details about the equipment and where it was placed were also part of DOE’s announcement:
- North Slope of Alaska – Precipitation and cloud radar systems.
- Northern Oklahoma – Precipitation and cloud radar systems, and lasers that determine precise altitude of clouds.
- ARM Mobile Facility 1 (now in India) – Cloud radar systems and equipment that measures air moisture.
- ARM Mobile Facility 2 (now in Maldives) – Equipment to detect the amount of water vapor in the air and lasers to measure cloud altitudes.
- ARM Aerial Facility (Richland, Washington) – New data storage/communication systems and equipment to measure airborne particulate matter, like soot or dust, which both reflect and absorb incoming sunlight and also initiate the formation of clouds. (Clouds generally do not form by themselves—a bit of particulate matter is required as a surface for a water drop to form on.)
- Australia – Cloud radar systems and lasers to measure cloud altitudes.
CNS also points out that Recovery.gov website does not reveal whether jobs have in fact been created as a result of the $60 million expenditure.

Then they bring it to their lap dog media who sell the phony data to the public. Then they enact draconian laws to stop coal plants, hydroelectric damns, and just about anything else that we need to cook, heat, cool off or see. They will simply raise taxes on everyone make all energy bills skyrocket ( I am quoting the dear leader) which in turn along with the Fed monetizing the nation’s debt drive inflation strait up and cause food shortages and black outs. Sounds like a fun winter for regular folks I am sure that Washington DC will be well heated and fed and not suffer any shortages. It also means that those of us who still have a job might very well lose it , my employer uses a lot of electricity and natural gas I bet the EPA will want to choke us off as well. Oh Dear Leader you have done it again!

I am just waiting for the next moniker “Climate Confusion”. It is where the climate cannot decide if it wants to be cooler or warmer and, of course, it will take higher taxes to come to a scientific consensus.

Tourism was only introduced to Maldives in 1972 with the opening of the plush Kurumba Village Resort on the North Malé Atoll. Now there are 87 beach resorts scattered primarily on three islands: the North and South Malé Atolls and the Ari Atoll. Tourism has become the largest industry in the Maldives and the primary construction material used to build the expansive resorts is locally mined coral. Digging up the local coral to build plush hotels and large conference centers is as stupid sucking the air out of your inflatable lifeboat to breathe. The mining has severely compromised the atolls, creating the impression that the islands are sinking, when in fact they’re being dug up. The problem the Maldives faces is engineering lunacy — not a rising sea.
And what are all these pacific island states demanding through the UN and it’s “climate change” instrument the IPCC (International Panel for Climate Change)? MONEY! These kleptocracies are demanding we pay them for the supposed harm caused to them and they’ll somehow reverse the oceans.
Obama appointed Joe Biden to oversee this debacle. Both should bear the contempt of the entire country for this insult.

I heard this morning he added about 165 new agencies in Obamacare. We won’t be able to get anything done with the time it will take to undo what
he has done. I am guessing it will have to go thru both houses and signed by the President.
Does anyone know how many Agencies Obama has created? Of course we want the ones before he came in voided also. Like Department of Energy, Education, ATF,FDA, All other alphabets.

When you conduct an experiment, you formulate a hypothesis. Then, you test, test, and test your hypothesis to try to prove it wrong. Essentially, you do you everything you can to prove it wrong. If you can’t prove it wrong, you have a case.
If you’re doing what the global warmists are doing, you’re trying to prove your hypothesis to be true, so you’re not actually testing your hypothesis.
That’s only part of the reason I have issues with the “science” behind global warming.

Im sorry where?? I thought this going green thing will create thousands for the US and reign in a new economy for the us! How does sending equip over seas help us here? Wouldnt it make more sense to keep the equip on US soil to create jobs and since we are such evil capitalists polluting the atmosphere here?
If jobs werent created out of the $60million then what did it buy exactly? Id like to see what in green technology costs $60mil!
