Streaker Posing as Referee Leads to Massive College Football Brawl

With the clock winding down in the first half on Thursday night between Arizona and UCLA, a fan dressed as an official blew his whistle and appeared to have the real officials fooled before streaking across the field.
The man started taking off his clothes and had gotten down to his underwear when a security guard took him out with a crushing tackle.
That’s bad enough. But the distraction allowed players to erupt into a massive brawl that spread nearly 60 yards across the field.
Two players were eventually ejected. Arizona defensive back Shaquille Richardson and UCLA receiver Taylor Embree were both sent to early showers for their roles in the melee.
Several players had to be restrained by coaches before officials got everyone back to their respective sidelines:
Arizona eventually won 48-12.
UPDATE:
We now have video that specifically focuses on the “streaker.” Don’t worry, he doesn’t get completely naked (mild content warning for language):

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 10:11amWonder if those players would ever throw a punch at one another if the laws that apply to every other person in the US applied to them on the field? Seriously, if they had to face assault charges for acts that would be considered assault on any street corner in America, they wouldn’t act like apes.
Also, this shows a parallel to shariah law, does it not? These players are being held to different laws while they are on the field. Granted, this is a game and it necessarily involves physical hits and alot of them, but throwing punches and knocking people around after the play is over is assault plain and simple.

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 10:10amNo Miami Hurricane players in that fight so it really never happened. Its just a funny video no reason to have anyone suspended or for Sports Illustrated to run articles or call for the death penalty.

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 10:10amHere is how to fix the fan on field situation. 1) You show them running on the field. 2) You give security or cops to pummel or tazer the crap out of them, on TV. 3) You let the security/cops drag the degenerate by his hair off the field, on camera 4) You prosecute the assclown with 6 months in jail 5) you immediately expel them from whatever school they are attending 6) you publicly put the idiot’s name on EPSN saying he is imprisoned for 6 months, expelled from his school, and what fines the idiot must pay. 7) Lastly, place the name of their parents so their mom and dad will whip their ass when they get home!

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 10:20amOr how about the players or fans take care of this? What a mentality to look towards “security” or pigs for help to deal with every little problem. No wonder we are in the toilet.

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 2:40pmDTOM, a few years ago James Harrison of the Steelers (one of the most feared hitters in the NFL) body slammed a streaker during a run on the field. Harrison was fined and the streaker arrested. Harrison who was fined last year for several big hits, has said fines will never stop him from big hits on the field. Two results of that “play,” the streaker has never streaked again and no fan has since streaked when the Pittsburgh defense was on the field. Harrison is the only reason this Patriot fan can find to admire the Steelers.

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 10:04amWas this taken from ESPN i thought people were not going to watch ESPN any more? UCLA at one time was a fine school now they just look to fight when ever they play. U of A is becoming the same way for the players who got kicked out i think they cant’t play in the next two games as well?

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 9:17amThis is a typical “The Blaze” pile of doo doo by the way. With your typical big lead-in and then a sorry video that doesn’t show what people want to see. Where is the video of the streaker getting taken out in a “crushing tackle.” That was not a brawl by the way. That was a couple of guys fighting and everyone else chasing them around.

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 8:57amSo were is the video of the ref impostor getting nailed? And what are the players fighting about? Both teams need a 2 game suspension and the streaker needs some time in jail. If he had waited till the quarter was over, we could laugh and move on.
Report Post »vnachi77
Posted on October 21, 2011 at 9:23amHigh, sports broadcasts have a policy of not following a streaker and showing what he does, so as not to “encourage” that behavior. So unless a fan posts a video, you usually don’t get a video of it. As for two game suspensions, it will never happen. With the creation of “super conferences” and the increasing irrelevancy of the NCAA, the schools will take no action and dare the NCAA to punish them. A minor slap on the wrist will be given and college football will forget this happened. If the NCAA had any teeth, a one game team suspension and the loss of five scholarships for two years would be handed down within minutes of this happening. But like in many other aspects of American life, there will be action with no consequence.

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 8:17amThe real question is this………does anyone have the guts to stand up and say it’s wrong? We can complain all day that it’s stupid and immoral, but unless consequences start getting enforced the behavior will only continue. Unfortunately, without a miracle from God, we’re too little too late already.
