Study: Cellphones Don’t Cause Brain Cancer in Adults, But What of Children?

In the largest study yet of its kind, published in the “British Medical Journal,” Danish researchers have found no correlation between use of cellphones and risk for brain tumors in adults.

Study Shows Cell Phones Dont Mean Higher Brain Cancer Risk, But Children Absorb More RadiationAccording to Science Daily, more than 358,400 cellphone users were monitored during an 18-year period. The researchers from Institute of Cancer Epidemiology in Copenhagen evaluated the entire Danish population 30 years or older, and classified them as cellphone users or non-cellphone users before 1995. The study period ranged from 1990 to 2007.

Although 10,729 central nervous system tumors were reported during the study period, researchers said that those using cellphones for the longest period of time, 13 or more years, had similar cancer rates to those who reported not using a cellphone.

According to Science Daily, the researchers do state that even though this study period is the longest evaluating such a group, cellphones correlating with cancer risk after 10 to 15 years could still be a possibility.

But this study focused on adults. Children younger and younger are beginning to use and even own their own cellphones now and a separate study, recently published in “Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine Journal,” reports finding that children absorb more cellphone radiation than adults.

The study authors from the Environmental Health Trust report that the existing model to measure radiation absorption is on a plastic head, Specific Anthropomorphic Mannequin (SAM). The specific absorption rate of this model not only underestimates the absorption rate of radiation for adults, but also that of children.

The report states that  the absorption rate for children is 153 percent higher than the model. The thickness of their skull and absorbency of their bone marrow are stated as reasons for potentially absorbing more radiation. The study advocates for a new certification process that takes into account head size and tissue composition.

According to NIH, a study published earlier this year in the “Journal of the National Cancer Institute” that evaluated children diagnosed with brain cancer between ages 7 and 19 with children without cancer, found no relationship between cellphone use and brain cancer risk.

Earlier this year, the World Health Organization and the International Agency for Cancer Research deemed that the radiofrequency electromagnetic fields associated with cellphone use are “possibly carcinogenic to humans.” It estimates current cell phone use at 5 billion users worldwide.

Cell phones don’t cause physical cancer, but their calling plans definitely cause financial cancer and destroy budgets everywhere.

Ionizing radiation from cellphones DO cause cancer.

Don’t believe the hype. Scientists LIE like they did about global warming and like they continue to do about vaccines.

Remember, they want to kill you. Remember.

If cell phone radiation is bad for you, imagine sleeping under an electric blanket. If one third of the population gets cancer of all kinds eventually and 99 percent use cell phones, why didn’t 99% get cancer? Every time somebody proves that their electronic gizmo does not cause cancer, the goal post is moved by saying the test was flawed because it was on the wrong frequency or power level or some other technicality. For some reason solar cells and the inversion technology to get it useable at 60 cycles and 120 volts is as pure as the wind driven snow. Driving an electrical car is, so far, safe.

Using cell phones, even if proven to cause cancer, has become such an integral part of business and daily life. We can never give it up. You will get cancer. I will get cancer. Our kids will get cancer. Its inevitable. Just dont overdo the cell usage.

Okay, just because aa industry sponsored study says cell phones don’t cause cancer, I feel so much better. Cigarette anyone? Any type of radiation, microwave, hi frequency, low frequency, beta, alpha….is al harmful when exposed to over time. Cell phones have only been in high usage over the past 20 years. The frequency of brain Cancer is just now starting to spike.

Cell phones may not cause camcer in adults or kids but they do cause lazy brain fatigue. Maybe that’s why they should be used only for emergencies instead of amusement or gossip. They’re a poor substitute for person to person interaction.

I think cell phones kill spiritual brain cells because there is no other excuse for as many politically ignorant Americans as we have today!

I don’t see a down side to this. Those who spend enough time chatting on their stupid phones for their brains to start destroying themselves will generally be no great loss to our species.

This shows what kinds of morons are in charge,,,“electromagnetic radiation” is NOT nuclear radiation. It os radio waves and the only result thta radio waves has,,,is heating effect,,The so called brainiacs,,can’t wrap their tiny little brains around this,,,It’s like the global warming fiasco,,MR Wizard,of TV and now youtube fame,,proved that melting ice caps would not raise sea levels,,1 iota.

So… my choice is, possible brain damage, or…never using a cell phone for the rest of my life? Right now…I gotta go for brain damage.

Children don’t use cell phones. Even teenagers don’t – at least not as a phone. They text and email. They don’t CALL. That’s why no one is concerned that the iPhone cannot actually make phone calls well.

Even if we accept that children absorb more of the radiation, there is no indication that this is enough to cause any kind of cancer. And that ignores the fact that, again, young children don’t use cell phones and teenagers rarely make calls on them.

I’ve long thought children cause brain cancer in adults, high blood pressure too, that’s why I like dogs.
