5 Stunning Photographs From the Super-Concentrated Storm Over NYC

Some have compared the storm that occurred yesterday over New York City and in other areas of the northeast as that of Biblical proportions.

The Weather Channel reports that the extremely hot and humid day within the city came to a violent and abrupt end as the storm erupted in the late afternoon. The New York Post reports the temperature recorded at LaGuardia airport before the storm hit was a record-breaking 101 degrees. After the storm, it had dropped to 74 degrees and is expected to continue today in the 80s.

A formal warning by AccuWeather, according to the Daily Mail, came just after 3:30 p.m. and had city officials using a mobile phone emergency warning system to issue information to 8 million people within the five boroughs. It was the first time the program had been used since launching in May 2011.

Characterized by hail, heavy winds and torrential rain, the storm in New York has produced stunning photographs, which led Gizmodo to jokingly wonder if the Lost Ark of the covenant was opened in New York City or if the Ghostbusters were back in town.

Here the photos tell the story.

Jim Cantore, a Weather Channel meteorologist, said the storms across the northeast Wednesday were relatively normal given the conditions.

“Lots of heat equals lots of storms at this time of year,” Cantore said according to the Weather Channel.

The New York Post reports 1.7 inches were recorded inside Central Park and an inch of hail stones littered the ground in some areas of the city. One woman in Queens was struck by lightening and was treated at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Here are some videos posted to YouTube recording some of the weather events yesterday.

“before the storm hit was a record-breaking 101 degrees. After the storm, it had dropped to 74 degrees and is expected to continue today in the 80s.”

This, boys and girls, illustrates perfectly why the warmists prediction of a “runaway greenhouse” that will broil us alive is nonsensical.
Have you ever wondered why the air is cooler after a thunderstorm, or the ocean is cooler after a hurricane? It‘s because thunderstorms and hurricanes are heat engines that transfer heat from the earth’s surface to the upper atmosphere where it radiates into space. This makes a runaway greenhouse impossible and is why the the warmists chicken little panic so amusing.
If the warmists who say study the science would actually, you know, study the science, they would soon realize what fools they’re making of themselves.

Why no global warming? Carbon! 7 billion peoples body stores carbon, eat carbon, raise carbon hoofed food that eat carbon based grains that all poop carbon based poop that goes back into the earth.
No carbon based fuels, no carbon based food that breathes carbon based air that turns into carbon based solids plants that feed carbon based animals that feed carbon based peoples that all poop carbon based poop.
And that leads to more and better carbon based plants! It’s the circle of life! :-)
Warmer is better than colder anyhow.

When I was a child in Michigan and New Jersey, we often went over the 100 degree mark in summer. June, even, and had to go to unairconditioned schools. That was 45+ years ago. It’s the same now. This global warming bs is stupid.

It was origianlly all a world wide tax scheme involving carbon tax and the exchange of tax credits between companies (that may or may not even exist) and even between countries (spread the wealth around… poor countries with no industry could sell their “carbon credits” to countries and businesses that were exceeding their “arbitrary” limits… wealth redistribution pure and simple… a con/scam.

But no one could find the actual data… and then NASA reported temps were rising on other planets (well man is not there polluting/causing global warming on other planets… it all started to come unravelled… “man-made” slipped away (because volcanoes deposit way more carbon and such into the atmosphere daily than man has yet to do and that pesky sun appears more active now than previously… “global warming” had not real data to back it up (especially after the universities involved revealed in emails that they were cherry picking the data… so now the “weather” is called climate change… as the original con men try to reformulate/rebrand their tax/redistribution of wealth scam.

Most recently they reported the US had a higher average temperature this summer than before 1895. Firstly, in 1895 each state had far fewer weather stations to average together (more stations in hotter states than cooler states will skew the data. Secondly, since 1895, the US added hot states like arizona, new mexico, utah, hawaii, a plains state and a hand full of weather stations i

I live in Upstate NY and we all live the way NYC expects us to. WE have little say in State Taxes because of the huge tax base in NYC , all of us suffer. I would say that about 75% of NYS is conservative but the 25% of Liberals run the whole shooting match. I actually live 70 miles north of Manhattan and we have to pay a Tax to support the MTA even though we have no actual public transportation. Years ago they needed more area codes so they stole ours and gave it to Westchester County but four other counties needed to change. NYC should secede from the state and become it’s own state.

July 1, 1986 on I-95 near Cocoa, Florida. I was riding my motorcycle to a college class. I was slowing to exit at Fiske Blvd, and happened to be lucky enough to come out from under the overpass just as the bolt struck. It knocked me off my motorcycle, stopped my heart and breathing, and–well, I was dead. A local cardiac nurse stopped, along with a CPR-trained elementary teacher and an Emergency Room doctor. The radio technician for our public safety radios (also a trained paramedic) stopped and called for Rescue on the radio (remember, no cell phones in 1986). Many will disagree with me and call it a stroke of luck or coincidence, but I regard that experience a Miracle.

Excuse me? God hates New York? Your opinion speaks volumes about your character. I happen to live in the Southern Tier/Western part of New York and I’m Christian. I am so sick and tired of everyone outside of New York lumping our entire state into one stinking city! There are beautiful parts of New York. I live in farm country which includes wonderful grape vineyards stretching for miles and miles. In the fall the smell of ripe grapes permeates the air and it’s a sweet savor that I know reaches the nostrils of God. I was in New York City one time in my life and swore I’d never return. I haven’t returned. As far as I‘m concerned New York City should be made it’s own state. They can keep the name New York. We’ll take Old York. At least the rest of us New Yorkers who don’t live in the rotten apple might have a chance at building our own reputation with the rest of this country!
Please folks…when you‘re dissing New York City don’t include our entire state! We don’t deserve it.
