Stunning Revelation by NYC Police Commissioner: Protesters Had a ‘Countdown’ & ‘Charged’ Cops

New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly made some stunning revelations on Thursday regarding videos that surfaced on YouTube Wednesday night showing police beating back Wall St. protesters. According to him, the protesters actually planned to antagonize police, even instituting a “countdown” before they “charged” officers.
“What they did is they counted. They actually had a countdown — 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 — they grouped together, they joined arms and they charged the police. They attacked the police. They wanted to get into Wall Street, they wanted to occupy Wall Street,” Kelly told reporters.
“These people wanted to have confrontation with the police for whatever reason. Somehow, I guess it works to their purposes,” he added. He also promised such protesters would be “met with force when they do that,“ which he called ”just common sense.”
You can watch him detail his version of events below:
According to Kelly, the protests have cost the city $2 million for officers assigned to the protests.
And if you’re wondering if the police can force the protesters to move, the answer is “no.” WCBS-TV explains:
The problem for the city and the police is even if they wanted to, they can’t evict “Occupy Wall Street” as long as they make Zuccotti Park their headquarters. It is private space that must be opened to the public
“The charter, it gives access to the park 24 hours a day, seven says a week,” Kelly said.
When asked by CBS 2′s Marcia Kramer if there was an end game, his response was carefully considered.
“You know, we’ll see. Right now they’re on private property and people who own that property don’t have the power to eject them,” he said.
But Brookfield Office Properties, which owns Zuccotti Park, seems to be slowly building a case against protesters, saying Thursday that the protestors are interfering with the use of the park by others and are creating sanitary problems.

Posted on October 7, 2011 at 1:15pmDon’t some of the police union dues eventually wind up supporting the unwashed.. I still think very large bounties on littering and other infractions to be paid for by the those convicted could cut back on the large cost to the occupied municipalities. If people got $1000 for video evidence leading to a littering arrest and conviction, then budding capitalists could make money off the parasites.

“The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled,

Use information from the BLAZE and take it to the streets. Print leaflets, Twitter it, put it on Facebook, speak the truth to your neighbors and especially YOUR CHILDREN. Perhaps the truth can diffuse this whole thing.

rather than diffusing the protest, this author suggests that it could be used to ‘kick the bums out’ and get rid of corruption in congress…
If I understand correctly, this is a common sentiment among tea partiers…although the 2 sides may disagree, justifiably, where the corruption stems from.

Yes they have a right to protest, but they don’t have a right to destroy public or private property. Time to launch the tear gas or better yet; gather about 50 skunks and get them agitated almost enough to spray then release them into the crowd. That should get them to leave.

Posted on October 7, 2011 at 1:08pmUnfortunately Jenny the Tea Party is being subjected to an overthrow. These protesters, their tactics aside, are spewing stuff that the Tea Party in a MORE lawful manner have been saying as well. For example “regulate the Fed” “investigate corruption on Wall Street” “investigate and prosecute those involved in the sub prime loan scandal”. I think this is the tactic that made the Republicans into the Racists rather than the Democrats who supported slavery and enacted the Jim Crowe laws. They also have subdued the knowledge that Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr were Republicnas!

Posted on October 7, 2011 at 4:37pm“investigate the corruption on Wall Street.”
OK. What are they accused of. They sold ‘mortgage back securities’ that were given an AAA rating by the likes of Standards and Poors. Why in the name of blazes would S&P lend their good name to such a ridiculous financial instrument, when it was apparent that the bubble would burst?
You‘re sitting down aren’t you? I don’t want you to hurt yourself when you finally understand the true culprit here.
Why would S&P give bubble inflated mortgages a AAA rating? Because the FEDERAL government had !!guaranteed!! the loans.
Think about that. What does it mean? Have you ever co-signed a loan for someone? Did you know what you were getting yourself into? The loan officer should have said something to the effect of, “If this person can’t pay the loan for any reason, YOU will be held responsible.” The ‘mortgage backed securities’ did not have a AAA rating. The US GOVERNMENT had an AAA rating that Barney Franks wrapped around them.
Now, who are you going to investigate, and what are you going to charge them with?

=================================
Get a clue before you comment:
“Companies pay S&P to rate their debt issues. As a result, some critics have contended that S&P is beholden to these issuers and that its ratings are not as objective as they ought to be and that, in fact, this “pay to play” model makes their ratings meaningless at best and perhaps would more accurately be compared to the role of the “shill” in a game of three card monte.”
If the federal government had indeed guaranteed all of those loans, then Lehman Brothers would still be in business today.
