Stunning Time-Lapse Video of Australian Night Sky

An amateur astronomer put together an awesome time-lapse video of the Australian night sky over the ocean. The clip includes 30 hours of exposure (don’t worry, it’s condensed down into two minutes and 41 seconds), which took over one year to compile.

The video montage includes clouds gliding across the heavens, sparking stars, moving waters and plenty more. Below, watch Alex Cherney’s award-winning video:

    When you see something like this you know there is a higher power, energy or force in the universe. You also realize we don’t have a clue what it is and are unable to comprehend it or describe it. The world’s religions fall so far short it is a wonder that any of them have survived til now.

    Too many lights and pollution to see anything like this where I live. I haven’t seen the Milky Way since I was 9 or 10.

      Cool. If you live where there is too much light pollution, get out of the city and see the night sky for yourself. It will make you realize just how small you really are.

You also realize we have no clue what it is and probably completely incapable of comprehending it. The religions of the world fall so far short of explaining such wonders that it is amazing any of them have survived.

      Yes, God makes it clear in the Bible that if man won’t speak about His wonders, the very stones or the heavens will cry out and declare His wonders to mankind! Our churches have FAILED, including ALL religious denominations. Read the Bible, not listen to sermons delivered to itching ears. The Bible declares His wonders. It is too bad that so many preachers will be held accountable for what they have NOT done to proclaim Him and His Righteousness and His wonders. Read Romans 10:9-13

      I wholeheartedly agree, jrook. The Bible, however, (which is not to be confused with mainline religion) at Isaiah 40:26 says this: . . .“Raise YOUR eyes high up and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, he also being vigorous in power, not one [of them] is missing.
      Sounds like E=MC2, doesn’t it?

      I had an opportunity once to stand on a beach in Somoa, the island of Savaii. The sky seemed to be 20 feet above your head and there were more stars than I every could have imagined.
