We’ve seen incredible videos of bystanders lifting cars to free victims in the past, and this one is just as stunning. WFMY-TV reports:
One person was killed and several others hurt when a pickup truck rolled over on Interstate 10 east of Desert Center, California Sunday.
One of the surviving victims was freed from the vehicle by passers-by who together managed to lift the overturned vehicle enough to pullĀ a woman from the cab of the truck.
From cell-phone video taken of the rescue, it appeared that another person was still inside after the woman was freed. It is not known whether that person also survived.
And here’s the video:

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 5:10pmStunning? When are you going to start using words that actually describe the event? This might be slightly interestesting to someone but it is not “stunning.” They barely rolled the pickup back a few inches. Whooopeeeee! What they did was the right thing but it was not “stunning.”
Webster: Stunning -
1: causing astonishment or disbelief
2: strikingly impressive especially in beauty or excellence
Uhhhhhhhh, nope ‘fraid not.

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 2:51pmThe people who stopped and helped were great human beings. The lines of people on both sides of the highway who decided it was OK to just take their vehicles off-road and drive anywhere they want on the fragile desert soil to bypass the traffic-jam instead of merging with the other drivers into the unblocked traffic lanes and waiting their turn… not so great.

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 3:23pmYeah, I hate it when people have the nerve to leave their tire tracks in the dirt. Please tell me you aren’t worried about smashed weeds that grow on the side of the road?
Did it ever occur that their could be debris they are trying to avoid or to give as much right-of-way to the crash site so as not to possibly strike by-standers or people helping?
Just a thought.

Report Post »Are you kidding me? The desert and the environment in general are way bigger and more resilient than a little stretch of sand that was driven on for a couple of hours.
Wow, even us evil Californians stopped and helped. Maybe we’re not so bad after all.

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 1:36pmI have been awaiting a “Gathering of Angels”. It will happen when all Christians and Jews realize that we need to all stand together under our God and Father. When I read of a group of people getting together for the good of another, as in this story, I think, “Here we go Father.” Your Angels are beginning to gather………. We are in the Advent Season. a time of preparation for the Christ Child.
Report Post »Angels are with us to help us prepare for the one, child and God who would save us and ultimately guide us to our reward in Heaven. As I watch Glenn Beck and the people he has surrounded himself with, I see another “Gathering of Angels.”

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 1:25pmDo these accident victims know how lucky they were to crash in a spot where the only 6 capitalists in California where at the time. Those helping had to be capitalists because liberals would have waited around until the government came to help.

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 1:25pmI have seen robberies and purse snatchers and beatings happen on TV and passersby just ignore the situation. Thank God there were some passersby in this case that risked their lives to save this person and I pray they survived. These people should be recognized someway or somehow by the local authorities for risking their lives.

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 12:38pmAny time now the EPA or some other Nanny State FEDERAL government agency will make a ruling that passerby cannot help victims and Congress which by Constitution law is supposed to make law – not EPA or other unelected bureaucracies – will do nothing to stop the law. Congress has abdicated it power to declare war to the president, to coin money to a private bank The Federal Reserve and the powers of passing legislation over to a bunch of unelected EPA type of agencies.
The “do not help passerby” law will claim it is to look out for “the folk’s safety“ ”and Bill O’Reilly will cheer that and so will the people who believe in 4 amendment violation TSA pat downs in airports and now along our highways and the Patriot Act anti-Constitution warrant-less searches on Americans. . Apparently, Bill Orielly and the others have never read Ben Franklen. Those who give up freedom for security deserve neither.
Unions will be happy because government police and firemen are union members – more work for them dragging bodies out of cars and if ObamaCare achieves its ultimate goal of a public option and all hospital workers becoming government employees and therefore public union employees, think how busy those unionized nurses and doctors will be taking care of car accident victims made worse tangled up in a car so long because bystanders had to stay away but hey, even if they die, hospital morgue workers would fall under ObamaCare too.

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 11:48amI didn’t see any lifting of a vehicle…….
Report Post »CCRYDER
Posted on November 28, 2011 at 12:48pmAbout 10 sec or so, there were three men pushing up the vehicle behind the guy in the red shirt and he appears to be pulling the door open more as they pull the woman from the truck. Not actually “lifting up” more like pushing it upwards to make room to take hold of the woman.
Doesn’t surprise me that so many people were helping – we are essentially a good people and country but it is being stolen from us and we better get going, get active, and on our representatives big time if we are going to save the country (and maybe the world) from the socialist communist enemy operating within our country and around the globe.

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 11:29amNot sure what credit to give these folks other than there willingness to assist. If you notice in the Video a CHP officer is coordinating the event. That means that person was under that vehicle for quite a while until the officer got there and got people to help move the truck. Still in a sue happy country it was nice that they assisted the officer. Hope those who survived are doing well.

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 11:01amGood work everyone…
I had a similar thing happen one day on my way to a customer site.. I was going down the interstate when a Van rolled from the on-comming lane, rolled through the median, and landed (I kid you not) about 8 to 10 inches from my front bumper.. Me and one other driver got out to help them (while everyone else sat and watched) we got 4 kids, 2 teenagers and their mother (who’s dumbass was talking on a cell phone when she lost control of the van) freed from the wreckage within about 5 minutes… Me and the other “Kind-Gentleman” rocked the vehicle to get the van off of the woman’s foot (which had been pinned under part of the car) and her and everyone else may have been cut up from the glass, but seemed to be fine regardless.
Felt good to help them (and berate the woman for nearly killing her family just to text on her cell phone), but you should have seen it.. When I arrived at the customer facility (about an hour late) I was covered in blood from helping remove people from the van, and the look on the receptionist’s face was priceless…. She looked at me and said, “Ohh my god, are you okay??” and feeling kinda silly, I just looked at her, and didn’t offer ANY explination, I just looked at her and said, “Ohh don’t worry, its not MY blood….”
You could tell my lack of elaboration kinda freaked her out, as you could tell she was wondering Whose it was….”
Ahh… good times..
