Stupid: Clinton Spokesman Resigns After WikiLeaks Flap

WASHINGTON (AP) — State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley has resigned after causing a stir by describing the Army’s treatment of the suspected WikiLeaks leaker as “ridiculous” and “stupid.”

Crowley said in a statement Sunday that he took responsibility for the remarks, and that given their impact, he had submitted his resignation to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

President Barack Obama said Friday that the Pentagon has assured him the Army private believe responsible for the largest leak of classified American documents ever was being held under appropriate conditions.

Pfc. Bradley Manning is being held in solitary confinement for all but an hour every day at a Marine Corps brig in Quantico, Va. He is stripped naked each night, and given a suicide-proof smock to wear to bed.

    I will never be convinced that a single Private First Class (PFC) AKA (Manning) was solely responsible for all those leaks to Wikileaks. This case smells to hi heaven and the oder resinates thoughout the Bamsters Administration.

    Pfc Manning is in a marine brig. I was assigned as an escort for Treasure Island CA brig ; while awiating orders from the Navy. Manning treatment is normal. Of course that’s how it was during my enlistment 1965-1969. Political correctness is a disease that’s destroying America.

      You got it. They would either say not enough was done OR that he was murdered and his death called a suicide in order to cover it up.
      The little slimeball not only admitted to, but even bragged about, actions that are punishable by death. He deserves a humiliating death at the end of a rope, but as much as he’s whining about his current treatment, I’d be just as content to see him continue to live under those conditions for the next 50 to 60 years — alone and forgotten.

      I was thinking the same thing.

      I’m wondering if he took the job and dived right in, realized that the water was actually sewage, finally decided it stunk beyond his level of tolerance, and came out to shower.
