WASHINGTON (The Blaze/AP) — The Supreme Court won’t hear an appeal from ACORN, the activist group driven to ruin by scandal and financial woes, over being banned from getting federal funds.
The high court on Monday refused to review a federal court‘s decision to uphold Congress’s ban on federal funds for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
Congress cut off ACORN’s federal funding last year in response to allegations the group engaged in voter registration fraud and embezzlement and violated the tax-exempt status of some of its affiliates by engaging in partisan political activities.
ACORN sued, but the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City upheld the action. The high court refused to hear its appeal.
The case is ACORN v. United States, 10-1068.
News of the rejection comes as the Government Accountability Office just a issued a report showing the some federal agencies have been slow to implement ACORN funding restrictions.

This garbage group split off into 10 different non-profit orgs, with 10 different names. The liberal assult on America is akin to cancer replication conquest. This political corruption method, to Liberals, was what the Blitzkrieg was for the Nazis — multi-pronged and highly invasive manuvers to break down its opponent through collusion, division, and discection.
America now has cancer. The cancer is: Progressivism. Its very existance is now in question.

So you’re saying Congress (who voted to quit funding ACORN) and the Supreme Court (who declined to hear ACORN’s case) as well as several federal judges- not to mention Obama & his administration (all of whom have commented on ACORN) are ignorant enough to acknowledge the existance of & take actions regarding an organization that hasn’t existed for years??
Report Post »TomFerrari
Posted on June 20, 2011 at 11:50amacorn DOES stilll exist – MOST of their branches have changed names, not all.
payments have continued to acorn by many branches of govt in spite of congress’ ban on payments – when caught, these govt branches reply with the equivalent of “oops”.
acorn’s new names ARE receiving govt funds, and will require similar action to stop them.
this will continue until we correct our election laws. citizens need to actively seek out their own voting registration – bringing it to them is an excuse to influence their vote, regardless of who does it.
Report Post »the early voting stuff needs to be stopped also.
states need laws requiring state-issued photo-id when voting.
we need to eliminate PAC’s – all of them – representatives need to represent INDIVIDUALS, not just those who are well-funded enough to bribe them with campaign donations.
donations – limit donations to INDIVIDUALS – no corporations, no charities, no schools, no international donations, etc.
donations – limit donations to $100.00 per individual – the rich will have no more say or influence than the poor.
donations – independent govt agency should be clearinghouse for all donations – donations should be limited to 1 donation per political office per campaign cycle – this new agency would track the donor, and the amout, and would forward the gross money to the candidate – but NOT THE NAME of the individual donor, nor the individual AMOUNTS, only the gross collected amout for the week/month/etc.
Lastly, TERM LIMITS!

By March 2010, 15 of ACORN’s 30 state chapters had closed and at least two others had severed ties with ACORN.[9] On March 22, 2010, ACORN announced it was closing its remaining affiliated state chapters and disbanding due to falling revenue. On November 2, 2010, ACORN filed for Chapter 7 liquidation, effectively closing the organization.[15]

2) I’m sorry you feel polite discussion and questions are “chitty chat nonsense”.
3) I never “demanded” a response from you or anyone – again, I simply asked questions about or clarification of your opinons.
4) If I mistakenly assumed your post stating when ACORN shut down was ridiculing the “stop federal funding” legislation, those who were involved in passing it, those who did or did not hear the arguments in court or commented in relation to the issue – I apologize. If you had made that clear in your earlier comments, I could have apologized much sooner.
5) If your purpose in saying that ACORN shut down years ago was not in relation to the thread article, it was another off-topic post.
5) Thank you for wishing me Good Luck in all I do.
