Surprised? Famous Marine Drill Instructor is NOT a Fan of Obama

Retired Marine Corps drill instructor and actor R. Lee Ermey took an opportunity to rail against the Obama administration during a Dec. 10 appearance on Roe & Roeper’s Miracle on Indianapolis Blvd. Holiday Extravaganza live broadcast to benefit the USO.
The retired vet stressed that the Marines’ Toys 4 Tots program was working through the struggling economy to bring holiday cheer to young boys and girls, but also delivered a political punch to the Obama administration which he claimed was trying to destroy the country by imposing socialism:

Posted on December 29, 2010 at 5:44pmAlthough I respect your passion and the amount of time you have put into the research for your cause, I feel it is necessary to point out that the United States–along with 90% of the rest of the world–practices jus soli when it comes to determining naturalized citizens. Jus soli (meaning that citizenship is decided by birthplace, not bloodline) has been repeatedly defended by Supreme Courts both liberal and conservative since as far back as 1930.
Another event that supporters of the birther movement would do well to remember is that on July 27, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.Res. 593, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood, including the text, “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.” The vote passed 378-0, meaning that there was not a single objection from either side of the aisle.

So people get visas to vacation in the U.S. at say Disney World. They obtain the visa & time their visit so that the mother delivers during the vacation. Do that 10,000 times. allow family to join the the kids. You can have a lot of hostile people in your country.
First, Canada banned this practice in the last 2 decades. Many people from Hong Kong were using tourism & jus soli to get Canadian citizenship or green card when they otherwise could not.
Second you speak generically of the rest of the world. There are many countries people would not try to immigrate to legally or illegally. So jus soli is not a big problem there.
Third, there are 195 countries. Why don’t we look at countries by population size, state religion 7 income. That would be much more edifying.
Saying the rest of the world is quick & dirty way of saying I am handwaving.
Any countries are run by elites who don’t care about their citizens, They are playing a multicultural & demographics chess game. They have locked their citizens out of power. It is rotten down to the municipal level. In socialist Sweden a city council kicked a hundred y/o woman (103 actually) out of government housing to make room for immigrants. They get more money from the Swedish government that way. Don’t tell me socialists are kinder & gentler.

Posted on December 29, 2010 at 5:52pmObviously you have no idea what you are talking about. A professional soldier doesn’t talk about politics while he is on active duty. Considering how many General Officers have gone on to become President of the United States it is obvious to everyone except those who are weak of mind that once they retire they have the same right to discuss politics as anyone else. Even if it makes the cry baby jack wagons upset.

Posted on December 30, 2010 at 5:17amIs anyone familiar with the novel/movie “Starship Troopers”? The original novel was written by Robert A. Heinlein. It explores some deep political/societal issues and is well worth a read. In particular there‘s a passage where the story’s hero is listening to his teacher explain the role of violence in human history and explains why citizens must earn the right to vote or hold public office.
I keep thinking about the societal model in that story in which a person had to serve a tour in the military in order to earn the right to vote or hold public office. Having those who decide the law of the land put real life & death “skin in the game” isn’t such a bad idea. The more I think about it, the fewer objections I can find with it.
Report Post »GhostOfJefferson
Posted on December 30, 2010 at 8:28am@BlueStrat
Heinlein was demonstrating the framework of a Fascist American society guy. The “earn your vote” may or may not have been a good idea, but the entire rest of society was either in uniform, or subservient, in all contexts. Heinlein was a libertarian, he was trying to paint a picture of not only a superficial fight against bug-aliens, but also how human society had become something that, at the time he wrote it, looked like a horror show.

I’m quite confident in the OLD CORP! What concerns me is the NEW CORP. To whom will they be loyal? Most are young, and they’ve been a captive audience to progressive indoctrination, too, so can’t help but wonder… could they possibly turn on their own citizens if they are led to believe that WE are a threat to our leaders? Does anyone have a reliable source to get a true feel for their perception of this current administration? One that can be shared with the rest of us?

We are lucky that we live in America where we can b!tch and moan as much as we want. (Special thanks to theblaze.com) I have faith that a large majority of America is still center right and they don’t appreciate incompetence and being lied to by an ego maniac. Obama, who, in his first two years has spent more than 98% of his predecessors combined, will be a one term President and will take the crown of worst ever. Obama better be careful, even a hard glare from one of these guys can cause Washington DC to explode like it was hit by a 10 megaton nuke.

Posted on December 30, 2010 at 8:40amHey MOSS, Please explain the Military Socialism thing, I’d really like to know how you arrive at that conclusion. It is a great snipe like an old man who yells something at a town hall meeting, then quickly shuffles out the back door.
Servicemen are employed by the federal government to perform one of the only duties the federal government is tasked to do by the Constitution. They provide a service to the American citizens, who, in turn, compensate them for their work.
The federal government is not tasked to pay farmers not to farm. Farm subsidies perform no service to the American people, but uses working citizens money to manipulate commodities markets. That is socialism.
The federal government is not tasked to provide retirement income…that is socialism
The federal government is not tasked to provide health insurance…that is socialism.
The federal government is not tasked to provide education, cheap loans, unemployment benefits, housing subsidies, own car companies, bail out banks, and on and on and on….that is socialism.

In one way you are right, the military is given everything they need, YET in the next you are an idiot, Every single military person has to work to get everything they EARN, I do not see a single person on welfare going out and putting their life on the line to fight for freedom, I do not see any welfare person on 24 hour call to go to war. I have never seen a person on welfare in a war zone with me, missing their family during any holiday. Every single military person is subjected to a pi$$ test when ever and can loose everything should they ever test positive yet welfare people can take their money and spend it on drugs and never worry about losing their money,
I did over 20 years and I am now a 100% disabled vet. In my personal opinon you can kiss my A$$ and you are an idiot.

Posted on December 30, 2010 at 9:14am@MOSSBRAIN “He’s only against socialism for civilians right? I mean I’m not against the military receiving their benefits at all, they deserve more than they are getting but let’s call a spade a spade, the military is pure socialism.”
Are you freaking kidding me, or are you trying to stir up angry responses to your post? Please explain to me how the military is “pure socialism” as you call it.
We in the military signed a blank check, up to and including our lives, for this country and took an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies both foreign AND domestic. That oath protects Jackwagons like you, and ensures your freedom of speech. Just because you have that right, doesn’t mean you should open your mouth.

Posted on December 30, 2010 at 9:50amThe reason Obama wanted to get rid of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is because that is the only way he can attract Liberals into the military to rot it from within. Don’t you know that it’s got to disturb Obama, though, when Our soldiers cheer after a Marine stands before thousands of military personnel and says we need to stop these Nazis? If Liberal punks ever do decide to start a civil war, we won’t have to worry about which side Our military will be on.

Posted on December 30, 2010 at 10:27amI don’t know what state he lives in, but I would love to see him, at the vry least, run for congress. In Nov. the nation put several more ex-military into service on the Hill – and these guys UNDERSTAND the true meaning of service!
We’d be in a MUCH better place today if military service were required to run for election on a federal level, seeing as how the Federal Government‘s job is to protect it’s citizens and stay the hell out of the way of every other part of our lives. Those men and women would be in DC protecting our freedoms, not taking them away daily.
God Bless our Veterans, past and present!

Posted on December 30, 2010 at 10:40amMOSSBRAIN:
That’s funny, what you said. It’s highly ironic: “they deserve more than what they’re getting.” If you take a look at what vets over the course of our history, alive or otherwise are getting from liberalism, it’s a travesty . . . It’s a crime. Those active now, they should be looking behind themselves to see who really has their back . . . If the politics of it all were not necessary, that liberals didn’t need to constantly deceive to maintain votes, they would be the military’s worst enemy . . . And in that, they are.
But the real significance in what you’re saying comes from the absolute undeveloped level of thinking you’re employing to shape the image of yourself; the liberal thought process that your statement, in its entirety, represents.
And that brings us to this so called “study” done in the UK; the one about a “scientific” discovery that conservatives have a brain disorder . . . a thinking disorder. Perhaps, MOSSBRAIN, you could be of help to these fine “scientists” by demonstrating more of your perspectives so that all may come to understand the core of liberalism as a manifestation of the brain.
To more understand that, the core of conservatism is exactly what they said: conservatism involves having the ability to recognize the emotive signals of fear, as in caution, due diligence and thought. Take the teachings of Buddha for example: Discovering who we are and our significance to the world around us includes understanding our insignificance as well. There is a proper alignment and balance with reality, as in fear is the mirror image of fearlessness where our mind strives to stands centered perfectly between them properly identifying what is the mirror image from reality . . . knowing there is a difference . . . that there is truth in all things.
And then, if we embrace Buddha, the exploited liberal icon as a quest for truth and knowledge, as we should and do, we come to understand how absolutely all of liberalism is tied to an undeveloped and mal-developed psyche. This is simply shown true as Buddha has been teaching for over 2500 years and still liberalism can only wear the lessons like a cloak one takes on and off. Yet, liberalism, it claims to be a most ardent supporter of the teachings. The contradiction is very deep.
In that, liberals never really seem to understand that all the fooling around that they do, that they would like to pass off as higher thought, is widely recognized for what it really is. Skepticism and fear of your folly opens our eyes; it does not shut them as liberalism requires where you do not know the truth about yourself because you are afraid to look. It’s irony . . . pure liberal irony; Buddha would love it . . . talking about the contradictions of modern liberalism.

Posted on December 30, 2010 at 12:38pmDuring the early 50‘s my sister and I dated a couple of marine DI’s from Camp Pendleton and what gentlemen they were. Of Course, our Mother made sure they understood how they were to treat us. During those times, and volunteering for the Hollywood USO, I met some of the finest young men in our Country. Without exception, they were all gentlemen. In contrast, I remember dating a guy from our school who tried to take liberties, so I wouldn’t date him again. Those were the days that girls still believed in modesty and didn’t allow boys to take liberties with them, and luckily we had a Mother who was strict and taught us properly. It appears today, anything goes. Poor girls miss out on all the fun life brings. Young love affairs brings broken hearts and lack of self respect and often babies or abortions that bring more sorrow into their lives, for a lifetime I’ve been told.

Posted on December 30, 2010 at 8:51pmMr. R. Lee Ermey is NOT a “retired Marine.” Yes, a Marine he is, but he did NOT retire. He left the service Honorably because of “medical conditions not related to service.” In other words, he became a civilian for health reasons, NOT because of service related disabilities. He does not even receive “Agent Orange” compensation, although he did serve in Viet Nam. His highest earned grade is E4. He is honorarily a “Gunny” because of his mouth and acting ability. Both are superlatively used in his talented hands. Let us not forget another “famous” mouthy Marine, the honorarily “inducted into the Corps” Gomer Pyle. Well, not even the USMC is perfect.
