Surveillance Video: Steelers Star Hines Ward Cuffed at Gunpoint

On Thursday, The Blaze reported that Steelers star wide receiver-turned-‘Dancing With the Stars’ contestant Hines Ward was detained at gunpoint in Studio City, CA in a stolen car mix-up.

Now, we have surveillance video of how the incident went down.

TMZ, who broke the original story, reports:

The video clearly shows the female driver of a Honda Civic pulling into a gas station in Studio City, CA followed by a police car. The woman emerges from the vehicle and complies with the cops …laying face first on the ground as officers ordered Ward out of the car.

Ward — who was described as “cooperative” — kept his hands in the air during the incident and followed orders until cops placed him in handcuffs.

After Hines was taken into custody, two cops approached the passenger side of the car with their guns drawn and took a closer look inside the vehicle. But they both quickly holstered their weapons once they realized nobody else was inside.

According to police, the driver reported the vehicle stolen on April 19 after forgetting where she had parked it. She later found it but never canceled the report.

Did anyone notice that there were a few seconds missing near the end of the tape? She put her handbag on the rear of the car, and then after she is cuffed and then walked out of frame, and before he is walked back in frame with cuffs on, her handbag disappears.

I’m assuming TMZ edited the video to speed it up. I’m sure an officer got the purse, checked it for weapons and retrieved her ID from it before giving it back once the truth was found out.

Now of course you realize if it was a actual stolen car full of illegals wanted for murder. LAPD would have immediately released them all and let them keep the car.

Both acted with civility. It was good to see. If you have nothing to hide, you will act that way, it is the ones who know they are wrong and are caught that cause the problems with the police. Funny how TMZ seems to want to make an issue here,“ the cops approached the car with drawn pistols”, not completely knowing the situation and what is inside the car, isn’t this a cautious move on their part?

You would think the blaze would do a story about how Florida GOP just screwed 70+% of Floridians who support stronger anti illegal immigratin laws. How the GOP worked with the Unions and George Soros funded pro illegal immigration groups, especially Catholic churches.

Instead I see this crap about some overpaid ingrate with a scam sponsor advertisement below it. cmon blaze, get it together. Does freedomworks being pro amnesty and glenns partner have anything to do with why the blaze does not do a fair coverage of issue llke the one I am explaining. The Blaze is surpressing information at worst and not doing a fair and balanced job at best.

Maybe a story how those in the decision making positions in the Catholic Church are destroying Florida and likely America by ways of supporting illegal immigration, would be prudent Glenn….

Man, you are off the deep end. If men were angels, they could self govern. We all know that is not the case, so we need police/military to protect us, and enforce the laws. Are all laws good, most definately not. Liberals write laws to control you, so for those I do not recognize them. But laws of human decency I support – laws to punish crime, I support. You need to wake up. If we were truly a police state, they would have come for our guns by now, and I would have shared my ammo, before they killed me, cause that is the only way they take my guns. We are a society that abides by the rule of law, until the law becomes abusive, and at that time, our founding fathers told us it was our duty to replace that particular Gov’t by force if need be, but preferrably by the vote. I adhere strctly to that my friend.
