Swanky Deluxe: Get a Load of Some of These Homes Where President Obama Has Held Fundraisers

Now nobody should begrudge these homeowners for their wealth or lifestyles. Most, if not all, have earned the right to live in such spacious and beautiful homes.

Swanky Deluxe: Get a Load of Some of These Homes Where President Obama Has Held FundraisersAt the home of Harvey Weinstein, the president raised $1.7M

The whole thing just seems a little odd considering the fact that the president and his re-election team are trying their best to position him as a “warrior for the middle class.” Now we don’t know about you, but when we think “middle class” (i.e. our childhoods), we don’t remember having eight bathrooms or hurricane-proof wine cellars.

But, again, that’s fine; no one begrudges Don and Katrina Peebles for their $7.49 million home. It’s their right.Swanky Deluxe: Get a Load of Some of These Homes Where President Obama Has Held FundraisersThe president has traveled the country giving speech after speech about how “millionaires and billionaires” don’t pay their fair share and that they don’t play by the rules.

Swanky Deluxe: Get a Load of Some of These Homes Where President Obama Has Held FundraisersAt the home of Costco co-founder Jeff Brotman, the president raised $1.16M

Isn’t that speech just the slightest bit uncomfortable when delivered in, say, Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s $15 million home?

Watch Bloomberg’s Hans Nichols report on some of the president’s fundraiser’s ultra-swanky homes (via Bloomberg):

“This year, Obama has attended a series of fundraisers at high-profile donors’ homes, including NBA all-star Vince Carter and director Tyler Perry,” the Washington Free Beacon reports.

You guys don’t get it. Take the really filthy rich that Barry is sucking up to. Say someone with 50 million in assets, and maybe a million in income vs. a middle class person with maybe half-a-million in assets (includes house and everything) and maybe 100K in income. Now do the math:
Confiscate 90% of the assets and tax all of the income at 50%. Mr. Gotbux still has $5million in assets and $500k in income while Mr. Middleclass has $10K in assets and $50k in income. Mr. Middleclass is wiped out while Mr. Gotbux is still riding high.

It’s about pushing the upwardly mobile people middle class that can now afford to do whatever they want back down into poverty. For the filthy rich, after they can afford anything they want, the extra money doesn’t mean that much. Then its more important for them to prevent anyone else from joing their club. If they lost 90% of everything and we lost 90% of everything, we’re in poverty and their relative wealth is even greater.

Of course, that won’t stop the filthy rich from buying all the taxbreaks they can get through congress, but that‘s why they don’t seem to care about higher taxes. It hurts us far more than it hurts them.

Exactly, they are trying to prevent challenges. Old wealth always tries to keep out new wealth. This is just another way to do it.

Simple questions. Why do the rich elite support Obama? What is their goal? Why would they support being taxed more with the buffet rule? How come they have the ability to pay more in taxes and yet, they legislate every tax loophole to get around paying those taxes? The big question is this. Why does’nt John Boehner point that out? Even bigger question. Suppose some lawmaker were to tax the rich elite 90%. Would it make a dent in the deficit? Is the deficit a real thing or just a media talking point? What about what’s going on in Europe? Go figure.

It’s not just about loopholes. They will invest their money in companies that suddenly get subsidized by or contracts from the government or they own the company that wins these contracts and subsidies. Or they create legislation that stifles competition. They also buy their way or their families way into posh bureaucratic positions.
What this country needs most is anti-corruption laws the likes of which have never been seen.
