Syria: 32 Dead, Anti Assad Protesters Stage Largest March YetOn what is being dubbed “Friday of Freedom Prisoners,” Syrian security forces reportedly shot and killed 32 anti-government protesters in various Syrian cities. 23 were reportedly killed in Damascus alone as President Bashar Al-Assad’s regime forged ahead with its crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrations.

Since Syrian authorities have banned foreign media from entering the country, death tolls cannot be accurately tallied, however various human rights groups say that so far, more than 1,400 people have been killed by Syrian forces since protests began in mid-March.

I think I’ve heard this song before.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight
    Schemeel, schlemazel, Hasenfeff Inc
    We’re gonna do it!

Give us any chance – we’ll take it
Read us any rule – we’ll break it
We’re gonna make our dreams come true….
    Doin’ it our way

Nothin’s gonna turn us back now
Straight ahead and on the track now
We’re gonna make our dreams come true…
    Doin’ it our way

There is nothing we won’t try
    Never heard the word impossible
This time there’s no stopping us
    We’re gonna do it

On your mark, get set and go now
Got a dream and we just know now
We’re gonna make our dream come true
And we’ll do it our way – yes our way
Make all our dreams come true
And do it our way – yes our way
Make all our dreams come true
    For me and you

Indeed Syria is a mess now, with protests daily and growing larger and larger in size; nothing gets done by the administration when what appears to be a legitimate uprising for change in the area does occur (note, not necessarily a democratic one, just one to oust the Assad government).

I have kept track of this on newsights that are in the middle east, and the uprising is most likely being aided from the Royals of Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Assad is just a puppet regime for the Iranian government in the area, so this literally is a two sided proxy war going on for dominance in the region.

A few days ago when the ‘protesters’ damaged the US embassy in the area, Sec of State Clinton did make a threat of ‘regime change’ and then nothing else is heard on the subject. So, while we have a newly recognized government in Libya with forces and groups we have no clue as to who they are or sponsored by, the uprising is left on their own by the administration.

Anyone wish to make an educated guess why this is?

Maybe due to Google and the Muslum Brotherhood not yet having reached into the area?

And we go and invade Libya for far less (other then the fact that Kadafi’s in power, but the Assad fellow sounds as evil to me). We shouldn’t have gone into Libya, but now what will be do about Syria? Nothing. Personally, we shouldn’t do anything. In fact, we should pull all our troops from around the world and reduce our troop count by a third or half and have the remaining troops deligently guard our own borders as is their Constitutional duty. If anyone on this planet even sneezes badly our way, we will just create a glass bowl. Now you know why I will never be potus. :)

YOU ARE MISSING THE BIG PICTURE, THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT “THEY” want you thinking, we must go in and help the Syrian people. After all, we have an “OBLIGATION TO PROTECT”…….continue to spread ourselves so thin that the “SYSTEM COLLAPSES” and the clamp comes down HARD! Then it’s the “JEWS” and the “EVIL AMERICANS” fault.
On a another totally “UNRELATED” statement, did I hear the President call for “ARMAGEDDON” over the debt crisis?

i beleive that in the long run when historians look back at Obamas presidency,
they will concur that the way he squandered the opportunity and potential to bring about peace in the middle east in the midst of “the arab spring” will be his biggest shame,

      unbeleivable……..

Concealled9mm…….give them no ideas. They are most likely looking for an entrance to yet another war. Regardless of their gov., both sides want to kill Americans. Doesnt matter which , the dictaors or the protesters, they still hate America. Lotus.

I can’t see a difference between all those Arabs… the Lybian rebels, the Egyptians, the Syrians, the Yemenites… all of those young protesters who call for freedom, justice, love, death for Jews, stoning gay, beating women, democracy and equal right!
give me a break, Arabs are Arabs. just like in Egypt, if the Syrian Assad falls, worse will replace him.

This is what happens when a government decides to crack down on an unarmed poulace. While a armed citizenry would have a tough time against a trained military force, an unarmed citizenry are just targets. The 2nd Amendment was not written to protect duck hunters, it is the peoples last resort against tyranny. What would have happened in Germany if every Jew had been able to greet the SS at the door with a gun in their hand??…Just wonderin’

Well said……….but the best way as said by Samuel Adams…………….

“But neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote it’s virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man”
      ( or woman )

But the 2nd Amendment was to protect the people from anarchy on one hand, and tyranny on the other. They wanted a balance “People’s Law” where the government is kept under the control of the people and political power. The balance with enough government for security, justice and good order, but not enough to abuse the people.

You obviously don’t understand how enslaved people become free.

Your post is that of a candy-arse American who has never struggled or fought for his life.

I understand your flippancy but you should wake up to reality.

If Iran’s proxy in Syria falls…Israel may (or may not) become safer and more free.

      What are your true loyalties?
      Freedom
      or
      Bondage?
