Tables Turned: Newt Gingrich Grills Chris Matthews About His ‘Racist Thinking’

Newt Gingrich Asks Chris Matthews About His Racist Thinking Regarding Food StampsAfter shouting down Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus Monday morning, an emboldened Chris Matthews thought it would be a good idea to go toe-to-toe with former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich on the topic of the GOP’s supposed use of racial “dog whistles.”

“What’s a ‘food stamp president’?” Matthews asked, referring to a term he has deemed racist.

“A ‘food stamp president’ is the guy whose policies are so destructive, that he creates the longest unemployment since the Great Depression and he puts more people on food stamps — most of them white — than anybody else,” the former speaker responded.

“Why do you assume food stamp refers to blacks?” Gingrich added, turning the tables on the MSNBC host. “What kind of racist thinking do you have? You‘re being a racist because you assume they’re black!”

“Let me tell you why. Because from the beginning,” Matthews responded, “paying attention to politics, Ronald Reagan would talk about the ‘Welfare Queen,’ who’s African-America. He’d talk about the ‘young buck’ — ”

“He didn’t say that,” Gingrich said in reference to Matthews’ assertion that Reagan said the “Welfare Queen” was an African-American.

“Yes he did. He talked about the ‘Welfare Queen’ out in Chicago,” Mathews responded.

“Who was African-American?”

“Yeah.”

“I don’t believe [Ronald Reagan] ever used the term [African-American].”

“He didn’t have to.”

For anyone who’s ever seen Gingrich engage in a heated debate, you can probably guess how this one ends.

As soon as the curtain opens on any booth, I am running in, I am going to cut inline, push and shove until I get to cast my vote. Forgive me if I push you aside, it is not personal, but if I don’t get to vote soon I think my head will explode.

      I have been reading the blaze since its inception and have yet to post. I felt compelled to reply to your post, not because I agree with it, which I do, but because of how well written you prosed your speech.

      Newt used to be my congressman, and I have met him several times…mostly in High School. I donated money to him during his failed presidential attempt. He has many shortcomings. Yet, debating was never one of them.

      Gingrich was my pick, after Herman Cain dropped out. Gingrich needs a place in Romney’s inner-circle. He knows Washington politics and how to deal with them.
      He was taught to make speeches by Reagan and can make a 90 minute speech from four sentences written on a napkin.
      He is very intelligent and can debate anyone and come out on top. It’s up to Romney, but I hope he knows to surround himself with intelligent people.

      Hmm, I was selected as a delegate in my hometown, and what I saw was an overwhelming vote for Romney by the public who voted in the primary; however almost all the people left after casting a ballot, so almost no-one saw that the people who stayed behind were Paulistinians who ignored the will of the people who voted and elected each other to the delegate slots at the national level. Strange, but that’s exactly what happened when Obama was elected, on top of all the fraud.
      The problem with Ron Paul is 10% his policies, and 90% dishonesty by his supporters, who seem to subscribe to the lefty mantra that the end justifies the means- so screw the public and the rule of law.

      Romney was not my first choice by a long shot, but that is our nominee, and damned if I will put my foolish pride ahead of the Republic. We have this one shot to salvage what is left of our Constitution and our great Republic, and I refuse to let a bunch of scorned spoilsports convince me that ONE MAN (Ron Paul) is worth throwing it all away.

      I will be voting for the Republican nominee in November, because I love Liberty. And I will not be coerced into allowing 4 more years of tyranny from the Oval Office out of some sort of perverse victim complex.

      The longer this garbage continues, the less I like Ron Paul.

      And, for the record, The Tea Party is a REAL grass roots movement, and neither Dick Armey nor Ron Paul have ANY claim to it. It is about restoring honor and principles to all branches and all levels of our decadent government. It is NOT about cheating the delegate process and subverting the will of the people.

I am trying to get the word out on this and the dire consequences that could come the way of Romney’s campaign in the general election. Why don’t you spread this message with me and get all Republicans to call into their Republican Headquarters from the numbers found in the Freedom Works link above. You will see that Freedom Works has been behind Romney and are glad to see Ryan as his running mate, but I can see Romney losing even more support than the Paulbots if they continue. It is not our job to follow the RNC blindly in everything they do, but to make our voices heard if they are doing anything that goes against small government and freedom.       Although very true, what your statement neglects to mention is that when that person ‘verbal lyncher’ spouts his venom to that ‘mentally ill’ person it feeds to the latter’s hatred which was cultivated by the smearer years earlier who has continued sowing those seeds through the MSM for years.

      We should be demanding en masse that MSNBC et al cleanse the airways of the vermin that they have allowed to nest.

      All I know about MATTHEWS is this: HE CHEATS. During the Kerry/Bush debates he touted this
      Poll he would be taking “right after the debate”…two seconds after the debate he showed the amazing number that flooded in for Kerry. 1) impossible 2) the “memo” from the DNC which got out to us had the list the TIMES (and time zones) of all of the Polls that would be taken right after the debate (Newspapers; Radio; TV and of course Matthews) complete with telephone numbers; Email addresses (new thing then) etc. So they had DEMS all over the country watching the clock and handing in their “votes” when they probably didn’t even see the debates..but aside from that…It was all a set up. Later when KERRY got his clock cleaned, Matthews shrunk back into the shadows.

      He does it firmly with fact, never gives in or allows them to misinterpret reality.

      Gingrich is like the teacher, who calls you out & reprimands you
      to do a better job because, in the end, the fool will be no one but yourself.

      I hope people have figured out the difference between good and evil. Matthews appears to be working for the evil side. You can not carry on a civil conversation with evil.       Chrissie Tingles seems to have adopted a policy of “when a guest gets the better of you in an interview..just keep shouting over them and don’t let them answer”.
      Chrissie is visibly angry both in this and the Preibus interview. He‘s angry because he wants the GOP spokesman he’s interviewing to play along and take the bait he‘s putting out but Obama’s record keeps coming up…watch both interviews..each time Obama’s record comes up..his voice gets louder and he tries to yell down the interviewee.       BTW.. Isn‘t that the Birthcertificate that Proves he doesn’t really have a Birthcertificate.. Which by default he’s not even an US citizen.. and not even one with a legal SS#.. or Selective Service card.. since all those are forgeries too… Is there not an illegal immigant running for President??       I agree entirely. What has always puzzled me about President Obama from day one is that while his father is black, his mother is Caucasian (as far as I know), so that makes him just as “white” as he is “black”. So should Matthews accuse conservatives of using half a race card against Obama??
