Taiwanese Animators Release ‘Serious Video’ About Nobel Peace Prize Winner

Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo is set to be awarded a 2010 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, but won’t be able to attend his own award ceremony. Instead of traveling to Oslo, Liu will spend another day in a Chinese jail where he is serving out an 11-year sentence for “inciting subversion of state power” for promoting democracy and human rights in China.

NMA, the Taiwanese animators best known for cartoons spoofs of Sarah Palin, Christine O’Donnell and Barack Obama, has released a “serious video” about Liu and his work in promoting democracy. Though the video lacks dialogue, Liu’s story speaks for itself:

According to news reports, more than a dozen Chinese-allied countries have turned down invitations to send delegates to the upcoming Dec. 10 award ceremony, including Russia, Pakistan, Cuba, Venezuela, Iraq and Afghanistan.

In addition, allies of Liu are reportedly being prevented from traveling from China to accept the award on his behalf.  By the end of last month, only one of about 140 invited Chinese activists had confirmed he would attend the ceremony in Oslo.  The Associated Press reported that others “have been stopped from leaving China or placed under tight surveillance amid a crackdown on dissenters following the prize announcement.”

Jsh1284: I think Bigbob is referring to “Republicanism” (not the party … but the form of government we KIND OF have now … often, and WRONGLY misconstrued with Democracy.) Bigbob is right in the fact that a Democracy just doesn’t work for the reasons he stated. It’s really just become about quibbling over semantics. Most people in this country have no idea we’re actually a Republic (crappy education system, I imagine) … but when they say “Democracy”, most of us realize they actually mean “Republic”.

Regardless the award, Liu Xiaobo has my prayers that he may cause a change in China that cannot be stopped. May Liu be strong and know that many support him.

As for the award, it is hard to take the Nobel Prize seriously as they have made some screwy nominations in the past, but I’m glad to see they can still bring attention where it belongs.

Here’s something to think about,China had over 100 million christians about 10 years ago. About 10,000 chinese become christians every day. The United States has been turning away from Jesus as the chinese are turning to to him. God does’t care what race you are. He only cares if you are a child of christ. America has been bless by God,but it seems like we have been loosing his blessings lately. Could it be that God is blessing China as it people turns to God? Could it be we are suffering a decline because we have turned away? As more and more chinese turn to Jesus, it will change China for the better. Remember,if Gods on your side who can be against you? Happy birthday Jesus and a merry new year.

EZ, here in America the Atheists and Evolution supporters complain that Christians are forcing our religion down their throats. I’ve heard the prayer in school argument SO many times. They say giving a moment of silence is forcing religion on people. Well, if that’s true, isn’t taking that moment of silence away forcing secularism/godlessness on people? Furthermore, by teaching evolution as a fact .. even though there is no real evidence to prove the theory .. it is also forcing that religious belief on Christians, Furthermore, it is by design making an attempt to disprove religious faith!

There is no real evidence for evolution. Cells/viruses don’t evolve. Dinosaurs bones and other fossil records don’t prove a thing, and there is no missing link. Teaching this as the undeniable truth in a setting where kids are supposed to be taught real-world FACT .. it is forcing Atheism down kids throats and diluting religious faith and spirituality. That is just a travesty and that is why more and more kids are becoming liberals and atheists these days .. and generally dragging America down. IF we instead taught ALL OPTIONS for creation instead of simply throwing out religion .. it would give children a fair shot at forming their own views instead of being taught that Christians/Muslims/etc are nuts and generally naive …

I don’t call it a democracy. I call it a Republic, which is what we are supposed to be. Having “skin in the game” makes it very difficult for a lot of these crazy laws, welfare, etc. and a totally out of control federal government, to occure. Letting peole vote that have no stake in the outcome, except to get more “free stuff” is a large part of our current problem.

Never fear we won’t end up like those people because we have tasted the flavor of freedom and we like it. We might not survive the battle for freedom, but people have to learn that freedom isn’t free. Whether it comes from an internal or external source. We will prevail, because we are united in our cause and it is just.

national socialism at its finest, liu we are praying for you.

It all began in 358ad, when a Caesar gave a church his seat and power and great authority. We now know that Rome started out a republic but disintegrated into a socialistic state, and it was at its demise that this power shift was enacted. This socialist “church”, calling itself christian persecuted and murdered more people in its history than every other socialism in history, combined. Rough estimates of this so called “church’s” murderous rampage through history vary from 300 million to 30 billion lives, all for “heresy”, or believing as ones heart dictates instead of as this “church” dictates. Today this beast church is still with us, an 1600+ year run of rampant evil under the guise of “GOD”, it has changed “times” it has changed GODs “laws”, because it said it could. And today it rapes our children, will you take a buy off from her, or will you wake up America, SHE is behind this socialist takeover, more than likely She paid for Soros to go to College, arraigned his placement in a safe Nazi family, Her Jesuits teach socialism at 100′s of our Universities and colleges, She is like her father Lucifer, a lair. And She will never relent untill She controls us (this planet) all over again.

      Joseph

Communist China has never been an ally of the United States and in fact has been on a confrontational course with us since from the beginning. Granted they allow our companies to move their manufacturing equipment there and utalize their relatively cheap labor, but that only makes them stronger and us weaker. At any point they can nationalize all foreign manufacturing equipment but at the present there is no need, they collect taxes from our former companies…so in essence they are all now Chinese companies.

None of this trade nonsense will have any effect on the Communist Party in China other then strengthen their hold on China and thanks to their powerful lobby their hold on the US government…if it werent for the lobby im sure someone other then Donald Trump would propose the 20-30% tarriff on Chinese goods…too bad we have been sold down the river…if we had a tax on chinese crap our companies would come home and we could have some of our jobs back!

I get so tired of hearing how people are all for democracy. You can lose your rights through democracy as fast or faster than any other type of government. Mob rule does not work and always turns to a dictatorship. Democracy is no more than two pedophiles and a child voting on the age of consent. Or two wolves and a sheep voting for lambchops for dinner. It is a disgrace to hear so many champion for it.

BigBob, you may be large in stature however you lack the mind to equal your physical size … (then again you‘re probably 5’4, 135) .. but anyways … Can you tell me a better way to run a nation? Communism? Marxism? Socialism? Yeah .. every time one of those little experiments have been attempted, they have crashed, burned, and generally crapped out. Who pays when this happens? THE PEOPLE!

I hate to break it to you but America got to where it is today for a reason. We are still the foremost superpower in the world. Why? Because a Democratic Republic at its worst (and it can be bad) is still a better place to live in than a Communist nation at it’s finest. The reasons are obvious, if you want to look up real facts btw. The freedoms and liberty offered in a democracy are unrivaled and unparalleled. With that said, democracy is the ONLY fair and balanced way to run a city, state, province, region, nation .. or a group in general.

If you disagree with me, you should be locked away in a communist prison camp. Well, either that .. or you should be nominated to become a heartless, gutless, piece of crap leader of the People’s Republic of China …

I can understand if you are lobbying for individual liberty however that’s what America was intended to give you the right to DO in the first place. A man can live off the land and provide for his family .. yes .. but who is going to protect that land from his enemies? One man can do only so much. So, what does he do? Create an army to protect his region? Yeah, where does that lead? I guess that man might want to create some sort of SYSTEM .. in order to give everyone else a fair shake as well! Either that .. or he could use that army to lord over the others ….

You see where I’m going with this?

SFT: Yes, I know that we are a republic .. that’s obvious and I said so myself. HOWEVER ..

The folks that make the case that we are a REPUBLIC but not a DEMOCRACY .. are uninformed. America is a Democratic Republic. This isn’t about political differences and the reason people argue this case is because they think there is some connection with the DEMOCRATIC PARTY .. and there’s not! The democrats and republicans are just political parties. A republic and a democracy work together. They don’t contradict one-another. In America, our REPUBLIC is meant to tell us that the people are in control of this sovereign nation. DEMOCRACY means the people actually VOTE and DECIDE on whom actually takes control OF that nation .. and then the elected officals vote (at least in theory) in the best interest of the folks they represent! It is a form of upholding that republic and giving the everyday Joe a say in the matter.

The fact is a republic without democracy to uphold the people’s will .. is CHINA!

I don’t know why people are so confused on this matter … it isn’t complicated! You guys are making a political argument out of a simple concept due to the fact that you don’t like the “democratic PARTY!”
