Take Our Poll: Should the White House Release Pictures of Osama bin Laden’s Body?

I think I saw the first link to a picture purporting to be the dead body of Osama bin Laden within an hour or two of the President’s speech last night.
That‘s pretty common at moment’s like this. A flurry of links are sent around and it becomes a race to see which doctored photo starts to get traction.
But there are pictures of Osama bin Laden’s dead body. The question now — should they be released?
Jake Tapper at ABC News writes:
The Obama administration has photographs of Osama bin Laden’s dead body and officials are debating what to do with them and whether they should be released to the public, officials tell ABC News.
“There’s no doubt it’s him,” says a US official who has seen the pictures and also reminds us that OBL was 6’4”.
The argument for releasing them: to ensure that the public knows and can appreciate that he’s dead. There is of course skepticism throughout the world that the US government claim that it killed bin Laden is true.
The argument against releasing the pictures: they’re gruesome. He has a massive head wound above his left eye where he took bullet, with brains and blood visible.
Fox News is asking the same question, and reporting on the initial process of identifying OBL:
Bill Hemmer just reported that a senior U.S. official confirms that a U.S. Navy Seal identified Usama bin Laden by sight before he was shot with a single bullet to the head. He was not ravaged, or starved, from his years in hiding and had “been living well”. On site, the Seals began a second step in the identification process which included “facial recognition pulls”, including taking his height and comparing his ears, nose and mouth to known photos of Usama bin Laden. Then, DNA testing began.
The official says the White House is deciding when, how and if to release the photo of bin Laden to avoid the growing narrative of conspiracy theories about his death.
So here is a simple poll (and of course you can post more detailed opinions in comments):
Sky News is asking “Can US offer final proof of Osama’s death“?
US personnel have so far said they identified him by facial recognition, but have declined to say whether they used DNA analysis.
Reports have also suggested that Saudi Arabia was asked to take bin Laden’s body – but refused to do so.
The fact his body was buried at sea has so far only added to the speculation, although as a Muslim, he had to be laid to rest as quickly as possible.
Under Islamic law, people can only be buried at sea if they died there, or if there is a risk their body will be exhumed or dug up if buried in the ground.
The release of a photograph purporting to show bin Laden’s corpse – which was later confirmed to be a fake – added to the confusion.
Journalists have not yet had the opportunity to ask more than a few questions of the Obama administration about details of bin Laden’s death.
A former British ambassador to the US, Sir Christopher Meyer, told Sky News: “I imagine we will see proof.
“I can’t concede the US president would go out to make a statement to the world that bin Laden is dead without being able to produce evidence that he is dead.

Personally, living in Texas, I’m used to seeing dead things on the roadside, on walls, etc. They should have chopped off his head and mounted it to the wall in the Oval Office.

This is great news for both our country and for Obama.. It needs to realized that these type of operations are carried out all the time but have always either been aborted due to safety concerns for troops or have been unsuccessful up until this point, Bush tried to accomplish this for years and was never able to do so with his administration, under the leadership of Obama and his administration, and im not saying that he was solely responsible for this feat, obviously our honorable military and brave men and women in service who took part in this operation made this a reality, he was able to accomplish this under his watch.. This will be a major re-election booster for Obama and will definetly move us towards the right direction as a country..
The left is already using this to push Obama’s re-election. We can not take our eye off the ball.

Exactly one week ago, anyone who was being openly critical and/or openly questioning, the legitimacy of this current sitting President was being openly called and openly deemed a, “Racists” and now going forward, I truly believe anyone of us who continues to be openly critical and/or openly questioned, the legitimacy of this current sitting President is going
to be openly called and openly deemed to be a, “Conspiracy Theorist, Anti-American or a non-supporter of the Troops” which will play directly into the hands of the entire Obama Administration and all of it’s current Corporate, as well as Government, sponsors and supporters.
Now, to those of us American Citizens, who are now going to continue to be discredited and attacked, simply because of our completely justified distrust, and very healthy skepticism, of our entire Government these days with the two Bible verses below:

I would be watching the other hand right now. 1) How many of the team who “killed” OBL have accidents before (AND THERE WILL BE) congressional hearings on WHY his body was thrown away at sea and not verified further. 2) How many people come forward and say this is a farce and re-election stunt and 3) What kind of legislation BHO tries to ram through Congress in the next few days and months, all but assuring the Dems will not vote against their “hero” that will strip more individual and State level freedoms and rights away like Obamacare? EVEN if OBL is dead that’s no reason to celebrate. Does this make us more secure or less secure. Should OBL be killed? YES! Should it be political? NO! Should BHO try to take credit for it. What should be done and what are done have NO bearing in DC or with the “progressives.” Prepare for all out Chaos in the next few years because of the retaliatory strikes…Sounds like a good time for POTUS to “Top down, Bottom Up and Inside out crack down on the US and just do away with the Constitution…Never let a good crisis go to waste…even if you have to invent one…”

Report Post »I wanted to let everyone know about two months ago I was doing a google search for bin laden to find out if he was dead or alive. I came across pictures of a badly wounded man reported to be bin laden with a gun shot wound in the forehead above the left eye. I remember the left eye appeared to be “gone,” I only mention this because I happened to do a google search today and that same picture I saw two months ago was being touted as the picture taken yesterday of him. I am not a conspiracy theorist but this is very disturbing and suspicious to me, especially since I saw this photo two months ago, any thoughts?*********************************
