‘Take the Bastards Down’: SEIU’s New Favorite Song Has Violent Ring to it

First violent signs, now violent songs.
The band Dropkick Murphys wants to do its part to stand with the Wisconsin protesters. What does that look like? Actually it sounds like a new song, released on union websites including the SEIU’s, that screams such phrases as “take the bastards down!“ and ”we got to smash them to the ground!”
“As part of the band’s efforts to support the workers, they are working with SEIU and other unions and labor federations to have the song available to be played at rallies across the country,” a post on SEIU’s website says.
These are apparently the sounds of solidarity:
In a statement yesterday, the band made it clear that they are avid supporters of the unrest in Wisconsin:
[We] would like to take a moment to acknowledge the struggles of the working people of Wisconsin and to pledge our support and solidarity by releasing the song ‘Take Em Down’ from our upcoming album. We think it’s appropriate at the moment and hope you like it… The Dropkick Murphys Stand With Wisconsin!!!!! [Emphasis theirs]
The band also released a limited edition t-shirt featuring the song’s title, “Take ‘Em Down.” Proceeds will go to the Workers’ Rights Emergency Response Fund:

Posted on February 23, 2011 at 10:50amWhat exactly are the “struggles of the working people” that the Dropkick Murphys wish to acknowledge? If I understand the situation correctly, the working people already pay more than what the public unions pay for the benefits. Doesn’t sound, to me, like they’re struggling like the working people. Instead, sounds more like they’re being greedy and trying to milk the taxpayer during a time of great economic hardship. So, Dropkicks, what exactly is so noble about their efforts that you must throw your considerable (sarcasm, yeah thats all me) weight behind them and assist them in their “struggles”?

Posted on February 23, 2011 at 10:52amIt’s violent rhetoric. Where is MSNBC? After Gabrielle Giffords was shot, the left jumped all over the right, calling for a halt to “violent rhetoric” (and there was none). Now we have proof of the left committing the exact same “atrocity” that they blamed on the right aaaannnnddd……..nothing. The Tea Parties were never violent, but that didn’t stop the left from claiming that they were. WI has not turned violent…yet, but the hate-filled signs are exactly what the left said (and Obama said) needed to be curbed. Some on the left apparently didn’t get the memo.

Posted on February 23, 2011 at 11:01am@DawgofGawd – Exactly WHAT about the Tea Parties were violent? Did we bomb a building (like Bill Ayres and Bernadine Dorn)? Did we beat up protesters? Did we threaten anyone? Did we leave garbage behind at the Mall in Washington, DC (like the left did after their 10/2 rally)? We have not and do not want to create violence. We have not nor do we intend or have called for the collapse of the economy. On the contrary, we would love it if jobs were moved back over here and we could become a “producing” nation again instead of the welfare state that the left is planning. Declare a state of emergency? God forbid. Suspend the Constitution? Don’t be stupid. We believe in the Constitution; we wish the left did as well. Declare Marshall Law? Oh yeah, that’s EXACTLY what we want…Obama and his hellish minions to have more power over our lives. Take the blinders off. It’s the LEFT that wants these things.

Posted on February 23, 2011 at 7:51pmAt least the band got it partially right. They are singing it and the union thugs are trying to take em down. Take down the US Flag, the Constitution, freedom, truth, honesty, and all things good. These people are the poorest excuse for humanity that anyone could ever come up with. (the band, the union thugs and all the other commies attacking our country from within it’s borders.
