Talk Show Host: Why Hasn’t Lightning Struck and Killed John Boehner?

Hours before debt talks collapsed Friday between President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, liberal radio talk show host Bill Press questioned why lightning hadn‘t struck Boehner over a statement he’d made about default.
Press played a clip of Boehner saying:
“If we’re going to avoid default and prevent a downgrade of our credit rating, if we’re going to create jobs and jumpstart the economy, I think he needs to step up and work with us on the spending cuts and reforms that the American people are demanding.”
In response, Press said: “It‘s a wonder lightning just doesn’t just strike people dead on the spot when they say stuff like that.”

I hope he goes to the WH today and tells Mr. Obama that until he submits his own “comprehensive proposal” to address the situation – that the Republicans are not able to consider any change in their position.
It is obvious that Obama is trying to do to Boehner – the same strategy they used on Bush #1 . . . “read my lips no new taxes” . . . got him to back off a little based on the promise of cuts in
spending (which never came until Gingrich arrived) and then shoved it up his political rectum.
Good job Mr. Speaker.

It’s obvious, since he never calls the left to task, that his words were meant only for conservatives. I didn’t vote for the bum so I played no part in it, but even so, I still didn’t think it was possible that one man (or 3/5, depending on where you stand) could screw things up this bad…but many warned me it would happen and they were right. It’s going to take several consecutive conservative presidential administrations to straighten this mess out. If this guy is elected again we are done for…and his supporters will deserve it. We cannot–must not–let that happen–no matter what it takes…and I do mean “NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES.”

He should LEAD she cried over and over. The American people expect him to LEAD!! Well someone please get me cleared up, who the hell was elected LEADER of this country. Who is determined to pass the buck and place blame on someone other than himself. Who is determined to raise taxes and knows full well that the Repubs will not go along with raising taxes. The issue is to stop raising the debt and to stop spending is it not???
Boehner is speaker of the house and is doing his dead level best to get something done. The other guy is the so called LEADER. He should LEAD and quit blaming others for his failures.

What we need is someone who will look at every department in the government and cut the waste! Lets start with the paychecks and benefits for Obama’s Czars. Then look at the waste in the departments. Get an outsider whose “reelection” doesn’t depend on protecting votes. In addition: cut the spending on lavish parties; limit the president and his family to one vacation per year on the taxpayer and when he is on business there is no need to take family along. While we are at it: put same limitations on Congress. Bet we could save a lot of money! What we really need is Term limits with no extended pensions/ healthcare benefits.
