‘Target-Specific’: Pakistani Mother Gunned Down in NJ While Pushing Child in Stroller

A 26-year-old mother was killed when gunmen opened fire in a small northern New Jersey town as she was walking with her husband and her 3-year-old son late Tuesday night, authorities said.

Bullets also wounded her husband, but the child remained safe.

Nazish Noorani and her husband Kashif Parvaiz, also 26, were on their way to a relative’s house with one of their children around 11 p.m. when gunmen opened fire. The couple had recently moved from Brooklyn to Boston so that Parvaiz could attend graduate school at Harvard University. Their other child, 5, was with a relative when the shooting occurred, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.

Investigators are now saying the attack wasn’t random, according to a report from the New York Daily News, meaning it doesn’t seem the couple just get caught in crossfire.

Muslim Woman Nazish Noorani Shot and Killed in New Jersey

The shooting “appears to be target-specific,” Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi said Wednesday. Bianchi offered little else, but investigators are still looking into whether this was a biased attack.

Local officials, however, are unsure at this time if bias was for sure a factor. “We’ve had Muslims in the community for over 50 years and very few problems with hate crimes,” Boonton Police Chief Michael Beltran said.

The family is Muslim, and Noorani was wearing distinctively Pakistani clothing at the time of the shooting. The couple was heading to Boonton, NJ, a small town with a large Pakistani-American community.

The couple had an arranged marriage about six years ago. Noorani was from Karachi, Pakistan and her husband was born in Brooklyn.

Muslim Woman Nazish Noorani Shot and Killed in New Jersey

Boonton residents are shocked. One man who lives close to where the incident happened said he heard six gunshots. That’s very unusual for the small town, others said.

“Nothing really happens here,” said Abbey Hettrich, a Boonton native. “It’s such an innocent town. I don’t think there has been a (violent) death here in a very long time.”

Relatives said the hardest thing now is explaining the tragedy to the two children. The younger child, who was in the stroller at the time of the shooting, is having trouble understanding what happened, they said.

Paraviz, the husband, remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds, but is in a stable condition. Relatives said Pervaiz graduated with honors from Columbia University and was studying for his doctoral degree in architecture and engineering at Harvard.

That is awful. There is no excuse for it. I went to Boonton High School and my dad lives in the next town over. You never hear anything like this from there. Guess it takes one nut case. We need to stop stereotyping. There are bad ones in every race.

This could actually be another muslim only killing the woman, not injuring the child in the stroller, and injurying the man. Sure sounds like his aim was for her. The husband must have money to afford graduate school at Harvard and in this day and age still having an arranged marriage. A lot of big questions

My guess is, the shooter was a Muslim man “outraged” because the woman wasn’t wearing a burka and was showing her face in public. That would be typical of the “religion of peace”. But you watch the mainstream media turn this into an example of “Tea Party violence”, even though nobody KNOWS who did the shooting.

I don’t think this has really anything to do with where she is from, though the media may spin it that way… racist radical tea partiers. But has to do with the violence that is happening in America, not just America but the world.

It’s a totally sick world we live in–with a great many advocates of the “religion of peace” ready and willing to do violence in the name of Allah. Yes, it IS sad and sick, but that is the world we live in today. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be gunned down by Jihadists, if the Jihadists can possibly manage it. You see what happened to Golda Meier and Anwar Sadat, whose only sin was attempting to bring peace to the Middle East.. But to the Jihadists, peace was a capital crime, punishable by death. Sick and sad, indeed, and I don‘t think it’s “racist” to say we don’t want or need these advocates of the “religion of peace” in our country. I’m not talking about the Pakistani woman who was killed, but the Muslim “nut cases” who keep doing these terrible things to everybody who does not agree with them.

There is no way to tell, but I‘d be willing to be it’s something like this. The bias today is unbelievable. When hundreds of black youth at a state fair can go on a rampage and single out anyone non black to beat them but the authorities say it is random and no evidence of a hate crime because there was no evidence anyone said anything specifically racial but anytime a “Muslim” get into some sort of trouble it is automatically labeled or investigated as a “hate” crime so that when they put out hate crime statistics they can artificially boost the numbers in the report and show the “increase” in Muslim persecution in the country which in turn will be the foundation to give Muslims more rights and protections and funding to do whatever they want in this country. Soon we will be like Europe where even the mention of disagreement about Islam gets you thrown in jail. This nonsense has gone on long enough. We have to close the door of immigration to this country, foreigners are the poison in the veins of our society and are destroying our country!

But I do agree that we need to slam the door on these Muslim nut cases. I do not think it is “intolerant” to refuse to accommodate people who have made no secret of wanting to overrun your country and kill anybody who will not convert to the “religion of peace” or who does not agree with them. It seems only common sense to me, to look long and hard at ANY Muslim wanting to immigrate to this country. P.S. It is only a “hate crime” if it is committed by a white person against another race. Just like black people cannot be racist. That is a liberal law, yaknow, and one of their big articles of faith.

Yes, I’m a little skeptical myself. The story said the shooting was “target specific”. I think most people will think it was a hate crime. But I have a problem with that. Most people outside the muslim ideology understand that women are seen as victims of this belief system, causing most to be sympathetic to them. If a person was going to commit a “hate crime” seems to me they’re anger would have been solely targeted at him, thus making sure he was the one killed. And yet he’s in stable condition with gun shot “wounds” and his wife is dead. Along with the fact the story said “there have been Muslims in the community for over 50 years and very few problems with hate crimes,” This all sounds very suspect to me…………..MSSMUG

They were an easy and predictable target as is is not uncommon for Muslim families to eat their evening meal rather late dusin Ramadan which ends July 18th (this year ) if I am not mistaken. For a Westerner living in a Muslim country it is quite an adjustment in the workplace as employees do not eat during the hours of daylight and are quite ineffective by mid-afternoon.
