Report: Taxpayer Funds for La Raza ‘Skyrocket’ After Leader Secures White House Job

The progressive politically-connected National Council of La Raza has been a staple (illegal) immigration advocacy group on the left and has long benefited from the generous support of government financial grants. But according to an investigation by Judicial Watch, federal funding of the group “skyrocketed” shortly after one of its top officials got a job in the Obama White House.
Cecilia Munoz, La Raza’s senior vice president and lobbyist, joined the Obama administration as director of intergovernmental affairs in 2009. Since then, Judicial Watch reports, federal funding being poured into the organization has more than doubled:
At the pro illegal immigration NCLR, Muñoz supervised all legislative and advocacy activities on the state and local levels and she was heavily involved in the congressional immigration battles that took place in the George W. Bush Administration.
She also brought in a steady flow of government cash that’s allowed the Washington D.C.-based group to expand nationwide and promote its leftist, open-borders agenda via a network of community organizations dedicated to serving Latinos.Among them are a variety of local groups that provide social services, housing counseling and farm worker assistance as well as publicly-funded charter schools that promote radical Chicano curriculums. Judicial Watch published a special report on this a few years ago.
This week a JW probe has uncovered details of the alarming increase in federal funding that these NCLR groups have received since Muñoz joined the Obama Administration. In fact, the government cash more than doubled the year Muñoz joined the White House, from $4.1 million to $11 million.
Not surprisingly, a big chunk of the money (60%) came from the Department of Labor, which is headed by a former California congresswoman (Hilda Solis) with close ties to the La Raza movement. Since Obama named her Labor Secretary, Solis has launched a nationwide campaign to protect illegal immigrant workers in the U.S. Just this week Solis penned declarations with Guatemala and Nicaragua to preserve the rights of their migrants.
The NCLR also received additional taxpayer dollars from other federal agencies in 2010, the JW probe found. The Department of Housing and Urban Development doled out $2.5 million for housing counseling, the Department of Education contributed nearly $800,000 and the Centers for Disease Control a quarter of a million.
Additionally, NCLR affiliates nationwide raked in tens of millions of government grant and recovery dollars last year thanks to the Muñoz factor. An offshoot called Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) saw its federal funding nearly double to $18.3 million following Muñoz’ appointment.
A social service and legal assistance organization (Ayuda Inc.) that didn’t receive any federal funding between 2005 and 2008 got $600,000 in 2009 and $548,000 in 2010 from the Department of Justice. The group provides immigration law services and guarantees confidentiality to assure illegal aliens that they won’t be reported to authorities.

I told the Police the white people that sell smokes on the corner are more scared of the police then any illegal in town. Its way to late to do anything except watch the country fall. What the he11 did u all think was going to happen when 30 years ago only brownies got fee education all while the crackers were paying for them… Sometimes i think most crackers are simply stupid for allowing this happen… Soon all u crackers will need more then wine to forget your worries, thank God for pot, cause u will all need it soon….

Posted on June 18, 2011 at 10:38pm“La Raza” is an organization dedicated to re-securing “La Republic Del Norte”, “The Northern Republic” which includes Arizona, new Maxico, Nevada, Southern California, (no big loss), Texas and southern Colorado. There are State legislators in New Mexico trying to secceed from the United States under the banner of “La Raza”. If Obama is funding these usurpers, I wonder what the hell else it will take for Boehner to start impeachment hearings against this, the most dangerous and anti-American President we have ever known. Waiting until 2012 ain’t gonna git er done, we will be totally sunk by then. Badger your congressional member’s office daily with DEMANDS to impeach starting Monday. And if they blow you off, then we need a steady protest outside the Capitol Building calling for impeachment and removal of this entire administration. This is getting SO BAD, folks. We HAVE to act now or we are fighting uphill.

If this presidential election is not won by a truely patriotic, America first, clean out the White House type of individual,,,,this nation is literally lost. I took the oath twice and gave 24 years of service to this country,,,but if it doesn’t get the attention it truely deserves in 2012,,,I’m selling the farm and leaving the country. I’ll watch it implode from the outside. I doubt there will be anyplace left on the earth to hide for long, however.

Is it because both positions are anti US?
When are we going to get people in control who imply don’t care about “optics” and just defund and disband all these type of expenditures and let the loons scream and holler?

WHY is the federal government funding any groups anyways? I don’t care if they are the “God bless America” group, the federal government should not be in the business of promoting any group’s agenda. The PEOPLE have the RIGHT to FREE SPEECH, and, therefore, THE RESPONSIBILITY of free speech. To fund these groups transfers that responsibility to the government, and therefore, the RIGHT is transferred to the government, as the government then decides whose speech is heard and whose is not heard, by enabling one group to be heard more loudly or more widely than another.

All the while screaming ‘equality’ and ‘level playing field’?
