Tea Partier Who Challenged Obama Recalls Exchange to Limbaugh: ‘Somewhat Cordial’

The video of a Tea Partier standing up to Obama during a Town Hall in Iowa has gone viral. And now, the man seen challenging the president in the video is speaking out.
That man is Ryan Rhodes, a local Tea Party activist from Iowa. He called in to Rush Limbaugh’s radio program Tuesday and explained how the confrontation went down, and had some more criticism for the president, like pointing out the hypocrisy of the Tea Party being called “terrorists” after Obama has been linked to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.
Throughout, Rhodes was well-spoken and informative. In fact, Rush was so impressed with Rhodes and the interview that he gave him a new iPad and Macbook at the end.
You can listen to Rhodes explain the exchange to Rush, which Rhodes characterized as fairly cordial, and see why Rush was so blown away by the 29-year-old (via Daily Rushbo):
So why did Rhodes speak out? He said used to work at a car dealership but Obama’s policies forced it to close. Now, he’s traveling around as a grassroots conservative organizer.

A question was ask and he did not like the question, well we do not like what he has done to the U.S. for the last 3 years. This reminds me of the Joe the Plumber moment. We should have listened to Obama very carefully then and maybe we should listen to what he is saying now. He does not want the Tea Party or anyone else messing with his debt ceiling, budget, etc. He is above all of us and we do not understand what he is doing because we are so stupid. One of the Democrats on the ridiculous congressional budget supercommittee has let the cat out of the bag as to his real goal, in all its ugliness. Rep. James Clyburn, appointed by Nancy Pelosi, sees it as a vehicle for exacting racial spoils, further entrenching the federal government as a vehicle for looting the affluent to give to others who didn’t earn it.
From Investors Business Daily:
“The Congressional Black Caucus is trying to hijack the agenda of the super-committee appointed to tackle the deficit. The move confirms our fear that the panel will become an overly politicized joke.
A senior black caucus member, Democrat Rep. Jim Clyburn, announced he’s going to use his position on the 12-member supercommittee to close the growing “wealth gap” between blacks and whites. By that, he means working with the five other Democrats on the panel to raise taxes on the rich and redistribute money to poor minorities.”

The point is that both Limbaugh and O’Reilly are the same Bush = Obama establishment shills.
What both neo-cons and socialist-progressives could not comprehend is that bills like “Patriot Act” and “Obama Care” were written many years prior by special interest groups (CIA, Pentagon, Monopolies, Big Labor.) Word “liberal” used to mean Ron Paul type free-market capitalism and small government democracy until late 1920s when fascism became more popular than socialism. So socialists had stolen the word.
Good things about opponents – Tea Party started in Dec 2007 when Palin and Bachmann were obscure neo-cons. Bachmann started studying the constitution only last year when she invited Judge A. Napolitano to read them lectures (she still does not understand that Patriot Act violates the constitution.) With Jefferson of our time here (RP), how could we look at good haircut, good lipstick or good tele-promter? Posted on August 16, 2011 at 3:52pmHe can get into the event because he’s a GOP guy–not a tea party activist. It is a reason that I don‘t put my trust into TPP because they essentially appointed him to a position that he doesn’t have. There was never a “vote” or anything to put him there.

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 2:24pmRhodes should have cornered Obama and demanded why Obama put forward a budget that increased government spending by 3.7 trillion dollars earlier this year and wanted the debt ceiling raised with no questions asked. Missed opportunity and taking the eye off the ball. Obama keeps squirming out of these encounters..for now.

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 2:33pmI agree, what Joe Biden says or doesn’t say about conservatives is not a big issue to me. If I had a chance to ask Obama something I can think of more important things to ask. Then again, if I ever get within shouting distance of Obama, I’ll probably end up in cuffs.

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 3:52pmEXACTLY! Biden has said, is saying, and will say tons of stupid things – so much that nobody really cares what he says. I can think of 30 more important questions to ask the president given the chance, like,”Why, if controlling the debt is so important, was your budget proposal back in February 1.4 trillion dollars over-budget?” Or, “Every economist can see that before too much longer, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are going to run out of money – AND the revenue to the government gained by taxing the rich is measured in the billions (not trillions) – what is your plan to sustain these programs?” I could go on and on…

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 2:23pmSadly Limbaugh like O’Reilly are defenders of old neo-cons philosophies, part of which is aligned with socialist-progressives as well – endless wars, torture, spying, big government central planning of economy. Abortions and gay issues aside, neo-cons and progressives differ in degree of spending and their favorite pet projects.
Looking 30 years back Ron Paul was one of few politicians who defended Israel‘s bombing of Iraqi nuclear reactor in 80’s when USA government officially objected (because it was arming its new secret friends at the time – Saddam and bin Laden.) Ron Paul was right then, he is right now. It is a shame Limbaugh will support Rick Perry who used to work for Al Gore. But people will support Mr. Paul in the election.

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 2:34pmHow does this have anything to do with Ron Paul? The Ron Paulbots are worse than the Obama zombies. Your blind faith to a single individual is simply shocking. He has good ideas but he doesn’t walk on water. Could you do me a favor and tell me one positive thing about another candidate? Just one. The only thing I’ve seen from the Paulbots are smear campaigns against everyone else.
Rick Perry isn’t perfect but using the old “He was a democrat” is pointless. Reagan was a democrat and I’m sure a large chunk of the Tea Party were democrats. It was 22 years ago. If he was supporting Algore last week than you might have a point.

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 2:39pmLimbaugh and O’Reilly are not even close to the same animal. We tried Ron Paul’s “fortress America” foreign policy after World War I, it lead to WWII.

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 3:12pmrotcarpenter, if you like Bush=Obama policies of endless wars, secret prisons, torture, central planning of economy. money manipulation by the FED, then Rick Perry is your man. The point is that both Limbaugh and O’Reilly are the same Bush = Obama establishment shills.
What both neo-cons and socialist-progressives could not comprehend is that bills like “Patriot Act” and “Obama Care” were written many years prior by special interest groups (CIA, Pentagon, Monopolies, Big Labor.) They were waiting for right time to be introduced with usual scare tactic, stealth and deceit. Politicians and presidents do not even read bills when they get more than few hundred pages, not even in part.

Gonzo, I know for sure you have not read books of Ron Paul or those of Austrian School of Economics. I will wait until you familiarize with the issue beyond school textbooks and wikipedia.

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 3:20pmWhy are RP supporters such schmucks?? The prize is the Whitehouse, so tout your candidate, without demeaning other candidates. Throwing out statements about Rick Perry without giving the Whole Context, is like being a DEMOCRAT.. Ronaldus Magnus was a democrat, until switching and becoming the best President in modern times.

Posted on August 16, 2011 at 6:37pmGonzo, one needs money to do anything, even abroad. Today we have to borrow from communist China or print paper money (inflation) to pay for our troops. Looks like a bad economics, the Austrians would point out to both GOP and DEM supporters.
