WASHINGTON (AP) — The tea party’s latest darling, Delaware GOP Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell, aligned herself squarely with the Republican Party’s social conservative base Friday in criticizing Democrats and “ruling class elites” in her first national appearance since her upset primary victory.
“They’re trying to marginalize us and put us in a box,” O’Donnell said to cheers. “They‘re trying to say we’re trying to take over this party or that campaign. They don’t get it. We’re not trying to take over our country. We are our country. We have always been in charge.”
It wasn’t clear whether she was talking about the tea party or the conservative movement or both. But it didn’t seem to matter to the friendly crowd at the annual Values Voters Summit just days after she shocked the GOP with her upset of nine-term Rep. Mike Castle.
Since then, O‘Donnell has seemed to focus on trying to repair a reputation battered during the primary’s final days. She scheduled interviews on two Sunday morning news programs and made a last-minute appearance at Friday’s gathering, which serves as a testing ground for presidential candidates and up-and-coming Republicans.
After taking the stage to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” O’Donnell recalled when President Barack Obama took over the White House in 2009.
“The conservative movement was told to curl up in a fetal position and just stay there for the next eight years, thank you very much,” O’Donnell told her audience — and then added coyly: “Well, how things have changed.”
She repeatedly struck a populist, outsider tone, dismissing the “D.C. cocktail crowd,“ chiding the ”Beltway popular crowd“ and blistering ”the ruling class elites.”
“They call us wacky. They call us wing nuts. We call us ‘We the people,’” O’Donnell said, invoking conservative stalwart Newt Gingrich’s saying: “There are more of us than there are of them.”
She made scant — if any — references to the Republican Party or the tea party coalition.
And only in passing did she acknowledge divisions within the conservative movement, saying there is not always agreement on strategy, endorsements and campaigns but “we’re loud, we’re rowdy, we’re passionate.”
O’Donnell trails Democrat Chris Coons, the New Castle County executive, in a state where Democratic voters far outnumber Republicans. Republicans and Democrats alike say it will be difficult for a conservative like O’Donnell to win the seat Vice President Joe Biden had held for decades.
Nevertheless, in the days since O‘Donnell’s victory, establishment Republicans, some grudgingly, were starting to embrace O’Donnell as their GOP nominee, mindful not to alienate tea party activists who her shepherded to victory and who are injecting a huge dose of energy into the Republican Party ahead of the Nov. 2 elections.
Texas Sen. John Cornyn, the head of the National Senatorial Campaign Committee, was planning to meet with O’Donnell. She was doing her part, too, to bridge the divide between the tea party and GOP establishment by appearing at the meeting.
Sponsored by the conservative Family Research Council, it served as friendly audience for the candidate, who started her political career years ago as a conservative activist and cable TV commentator focused on opposition to cultural issues such as abortion, homosexuality and premarital sex.
Since her GOP nomination victory, opponents have unearthed unflattering age-old TV clips, including one in 1996 in which she equated masturbation with adultery. She said then: “The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery, so you can’t masturbate without lust.”
On Thursday, O’Donnell dismissed her previous comments and stressed that the Constitution — not her personal beliefs — will guide her votes on legislation.

Posted on September 17, 2010 at 11:44pmI have made several long trips recently. A recurring thought as I look at our beautiful, bountiful and bustling country, I ask the question. Can O’ Bama bring all this down to ruin? I don’t believe it can happen, but I remember living near I-70 when Carter was President. It would often be hours between trucks passing by. Now, they are almost head-to-tail both ways, day and night. Can that all come down to a trickle? I guess it could, if we let it happen. Will California grow fruit, nuts, vegetables, without water? Will trucks transport these without fuel? Or with long electric cords and/or battery packs that last out the week? If electricity fuels transportation, what will the cost of a single Nectarine be in Ohio? If the Government controls Fuel/Cost/Production they have the means to force us to submit to their will. By starvation if it comes to that. And our freedom to roam this great land will wither like the Fruit and Nut trees of California, when denied water. We will become the People O’Bama loves to envision. Peons. Useful Servants of the Government. No wonder they want our guns!

Here is a bit of information for you, type of information which makes people mad.
Coons presided over New Castle county and their county council. Over the past three years, Coons raised property taxes three times, once each year. Last year, Coons inflicted a 25% increase in property taxes upon residents of New Castle county. Coons inflicted a massive property tax increase right in the middle of our worst recession since the Great Depression.
You can imagine this harm done to families out of work and struggling to make ends meet.
Those massive tax hikes over three years did not provide new services nor better services. Those taxes were applied to debt, a result of left liberal out-of-control spending in his county. Coons’ solution to debt and government spending is massive tax increases.
No brainer to figure out what he will do as a senator, do to all Americans.
Then there is his Marxist beard problem. This is scary.

What passes for investigative journalism nowdays is lightyears away from what was intended in the first amendment to the Constitution. It‘s a sad state of affairs when a ’free press’ becomes the propaganda arm for the marxist agenda.
Shameful also is the treatment of O‘Donnell by the repugs simply because she was elected over the ’bearded marxist’ that was nothing but a liberal sockpuppet. RINO is too civil a description for this excrement in sheep’s clothing.

Do away with many of the regulatory boards. Phase out many of the social give away programs. Its not in the Constitution. Thats what churches are for and there would not be all the fraud. The churches would not allow it. Privatize whats left of social security for the ones closest to retirement and give them control. I‘ve never figured I’d get anything anyway. Each party has become corrupted by power and arrogance and has lost touch with “We, the people”. And, so many of us let it happen because we didn‘t or couldn’t pay extreme attention to what they were up to. Or we believed the media would hold them accountable. We can’t just throw our hands up and say, “All of them are corrupt, it’s no use”. We must make the effort to set things right. We are trying to get back on track. I am willing to lend my support to those whose values I share. I am impressed with those willing to step forward knowing they will be face relentless mockery by elitists in the media and in Washington. You have what the liberals claim to be the smartest president ever, Obama, who does not have a CLUE on how to creat a job. You have his “team” of educators, professors, with degrees from everywhere who are making a mess of the USA, it’s economy, it’s image to the world, and it’s image of power and strenghth. We have seen how the current government passes laws, they don’t bother to read anything, they just follow the party line, or whatever they can get for it, whatever pork or special deal they can extract. Nobody is in it for the country, or the people. They are in it for themselves, for their parties, for thier future benefit. The lid came off the pot when O’Donnel won, Castle, Rove, and their ilk are angry, because the “game” is OVER. O’Donnel, being new, and fresh, and yes, not having “all that background”, is going to be pragamatic, and look to see what the PEOPLE WANT! She may even blow the whistle on unethical things and everyone else looks away from for the purpose of getting along and getting invited. She is the emblem of what may END the FRAUD that is being committed on the USA, on the people. People like Palin and O’Donnell are not quacks or stupid or wingnuts, or all the things they are called. They are people who will NOT GO ALONG WITH THE FRAUD!!!! They scare the party elites. And it should be this way. Once and for all, the USA can show the world how you turn your country around, how you reign in on corruption, on special interests, on side deals, on conflicts of interests. This country is the richest country in the world, it should be floating in abundance, prosperity, strength, power, and have so much that it can overflow with gifts to the rest of the world, with little to NO unemployment or even poverty in our own borders. We are in the situation we are in because of the utter corruption and lack of ethics of those so-called “intelligent elites”, who used thier intelligence for their own sake. WE DON’T NEED THEM ANYMORE. Let’s put somebody who struggled, who understands what it is to make a payroll, who was a common individual to make the rules, to follow the will of the people.

Common sense is not a degree you can earn in college. Common sense comes from upbringing and from living a hard working honest life. My grandma could not read nor write but she was about the smartest woman and the hardest working woman I have ever known; a doctorate in common sense.
I must confess something. We are stuck in left liberal loony California, for now. Although our girl’s first name is “Doctor” as well is mine, neither of us cotton to hanging around with other “Doctors” at our university nor in our professional lives. Those called “Doctor” out here in California ain’t got a lick of sense, not one bit, and most are about as smart as a bucket of rocks, just like Barack Obama.
We much prefer socializing with Salt of the Earth; hard working spirited ordinary people who enjoy common sense. Our girl and I will take a sweaty horse smelly cowboy over a Harvard professor any day. The two of us are fortunate, her daddy is a sweaty hard working cowboy who smells like a corral.
I would enjoy sitting, talking and swapping lies with Palin and O’Donnell. Both are just like us, hard working and fun loving average Americans. We can trust those two and other conservatives like them, and trust is sorely lacking over on Capitol Hill.

Leadership, Sarah Palin is most certainly a leader, as is Christine O’Donnell and many other Tea Party like leaders. Palin does not hesitate to grasp a bull by its horns then lead this bull to a young heifer, “Alright, bull, you know what to do. Get busy, America needs a productive milk cow.”
Integrity, Sarah says what she means, and she means what she says. Sarah walks the talk and she is walking right over corrupt career politicians over on Capitol Hill. Sarah is leading the way and she is kicking aside crooked politicians and mindless left liberals.
Strength, one look at Sarah Palin and you see gorgeous strength. No matter the contest, basketball to politics, Sarah is kicking Obama’s cigarette smoking sorry backside clean over the moon. Sarah is fearlessly handing out black eyes, right and left. Look at Mike Castle sitting over there in a corner whining and crying like a dirty diaper left liberal.
Sincerity, Palin and O’Donnell clearly and sincerely care about our home, America. Both girls are withstanding constant ridicule in their efforts to sincerely improve the lives of all Americans.
Common Sense, you betcha! Wink, wink. Common sense is the most critical quality a leader needs. Common sense leads to leadership, integrity, strength and sincerity. Common sense is what informs us our America is headed in the wrong direction, and common sense informs us we need honest and truthful leaders like Palin and O’Donnell to have our nation back on the right future track.

Yes, sir, we know about Texans! You know Texas is just Baja Oklahoma. My husband and I are retired now. Our girl just turned thirty, still single, still has not made us grandparents. This is OK. We are actively making plans to get ourselves the heck out of California. This has become a terrible place to live.
Farming, many of us dream of returning to the farm but this is not an easy life. Rather sad there are so few family farms here in America. Today, you need to be wealthy to afford a farming life.
My husband and I left Oklahoma decades back because we could no longer earn a decent living at farming. As you know, large scale commercial government subsidized agri-business has pushed aside family farmers. We fell victim to this and had no choice but to leave our farm.
On Texas, we have never met more friendly yet staunchly conservative people. We worked our way to California, lived in our old rust bucket Chevy pickup and motels. Took us a year to get to California. Crossing Texas, we lived in many small towns, we saddle trained horses, picked cotton and worked oil fields of West Texas. If not for Texans, we would still be stuck somewhere, don’t know where. A difference is Texans were willing to hire us and expected us to work hard. We did. We earned our keep. Upon proving our worth to Texans, those folks took us in as family members.
We owe a deep debt to Texans. We would not enjoy our comfortable lifestyle today if not for Texans, decades back, helping us make our way to the Land of Milk and Honey, California, which is now left liberal La La Land.
My long winded point is Texans represent our American Spirit. Texans will find work for you, will provide opportunity, but you are expected to earn your keep. This is why, today, the Great State of Texas is in the best financial shape of all states. Texans have an excellent work ethic.
Thank you for your gracious words or as us Okies say, “I declare, you done be a right nice boy!”

You should toot your horn. You have earned your bragging rights. Earning a college degree is difficult and requires a lot of hard work. Same is true for farmers, grocers, soldiers and ditch diggers along with many other successful people.
Being successful, college degree or not, is darn hard work. Along with being successful comes bragging rights, “I am successful.” We earn this right through years of hard work. This is not we brag nor rub our success in the faces of others, we simply politely acknowledge, “I worked hard to be successful.“ This ”bragging” is our right having worked so hard.
A community organizer who cheated his way into presidency, this boy has not earned his bragging rights. Quite the opposite, he has earned himself scorn and ridicule.

Posted on September 19, 2010 at 12:10amOkpulot Taha – The best way to toot your horn is by setting an example. Let others see your good works.
The Bible says:
Let another person praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips. (Prov 27:2 NKJV)
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.(Psa 75:6-7 KJV)
Pride generally goes before a fall. You do not have to toot your own horn, but you should persist in acting with both humility and a resolute focus on the mission. Don’t get discouraged by lack of recognition or early success. Build up the people around you and give them credit…

And stupid people buy into that crap. they forget that they campaign on fiscal responsibility and drive up record defecits. They forget all about being promised term limits. They forget about financial responsibility when it comes to funding unnecessary wars. And don’t give me any drivel about, oh that’s the republicans. the tea party will be different. Posted on September 18, 2010 at 7:31am@psychosis – education does not equal intelligence by any means. Most of the people I respect in my personal life never went to college, and one multi-millionaire dropped of of school in the 6th grade. I myself started out picking oranges and avocados in So. California (yes, along side illegal aliens), construction and finally as a welder before I decided to go to college. Since I had a wife and child, it was not an easy decision by any means.
What many Americans have lost sight of is that we cannot survive with a service and consumer-based economy. Buying ‘stuff,’ pushing paper and moving wealth around creates nothing…to survive, we must retore our manufacturing base; we must create wealth (as Mr. Beck says, “Make More Pies”) rather than dividing the wealth we have. To do this, we will need a diverse society with a variety of educational backgrounds and skill sets.
The big difference I see between conservatives and liberals when it comes to education is what they believe it provides:
Liberals tend to see education as its own end, giving them a feeling of superiority for being ‘smarter’ than ‘the masses’ with little real-world experience to back it up. That is probably why they gravitate to Academia…so they can collaborate with thier ‘elite” cronies to reshape society to reflect thier impractical ideals. Since they have never had to produce anything of value, they do not understand the value of production.
Conservatives, on the other hand, view education as a tool, the application of knowledge (gained through education and/or experience) is used to create products, create wealth and improve society in a practical way. Understanding the value of hard work, reinvestment and the production of goods, the creation of weath, is what defines them.
Sorry for rambling…maybe should have stuck with just saying “I agree.”

That said, in my opinion it falls under the Catholic Church stance on birth control, condoms and such. Some people are just gonna do what they think is right for them. At the end of the day her message is not a bad thing. Look what happen to younger school kids after Clinton was President. Nobody wants to be talking about how stupid the other side is when it comes to politicians. This only makes oneself look more stupid.
What is truly important is the direction that they want to go with our country. Do you want big government that only sucks the life out of the people, or do you want to downsize the government and have people be more self-reliant.
Another way to put it is, big government = creating a disabled society
Small government = empowering society
Big government CANNOT solve all of our little problems, they only create more problems with their large bureaucracies which breeds incompetance.

So unless you Glennbeckisademagogue are a undercover Governor of some state you have no resume to compete or comment on Palin…for if you do then you will be contradicting since Pres. Best of all, if she keeps her campaign promises, she will be able to also keep her oath of office, to protect and defend the Constitution. Over 90% of politicians currently serving in office had promised to break this oath of office dozens of times before they ever took the oath, and when they kept their campaign promises, they did break their oaths of office over and over again.
I believe she is sincere about her intent to defend and protect the Constitution, and that makes her more qualified to hold a public office than any candidate I have ever had the opportunity to vote for. She gives the 65% of people who NEVER VOTE a reason to finally come out and do so.
