Tea Party Rep. Allen West Named CPAC Keynote Speaker

Rep. Allen West (R-FL), a Tea Party favorite and former Army officer, will be the keynote speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this weekend in Washington, D.C. West made the announcement via his Twitter account on Wednesday:
“Giving West the spot is just one of the many bows to the relatively new Tea Party movement at CPAC, arguably the most important annual gathering of conservative lawmakers and activists,” The Hill reports. Fellow Tea Partier Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) will deliver the opening address.
It was reported recently that Sarah Palin, also a Tea Party favorite, declined an invitation to deliver the keynote speech citing a scheduling conflict. That created some controversy yesterday when former GOP Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum commented on her absence — comments some reported were a “knock” but may have been taken out of context.
“By choosing West, CPAC sends an interesting message,” The Hill says. “The Florida freshman hasn’t been afraid to clash with the GOP leadership in the House, and he enjoys a unique status as just one of two black Republicans elected in the House.”

There is Pent up demand in the United States for the leadership of a man. A man like we all aspired to be like when we were children. His response to the Islamist Threat, his lack of fear when it comes to the media, his preparation when it comes to defending controversial decisions…. I admit, there is nothing about him I dislike. I’d be proud to organize for him in my hometown if he ran. Not sure that he is going to, but if he does, he has my vote. He has the salemanship swagger and charisma needed of a Communicator-In-Chief of Conservative Values.

Having Lt. Col. Allen West is a Good Thing……….just like the Tea Party Movement…..he demands the US Constitution be honored – the Oath of office to be honored – and our individual freedoms and liberties – and calls out anyone who ignores their Oath of office.
Maybe he will speak on controlling, closing and enforcing our US borders – and not allow the usurping of our sovereignty – by tyrannts.

Posted on February 9, 2011 at 2:58pm“Republic” see West’s FB post below. There are other much more vital issues that abuse your rights than the Patriot Act.
My reasons for voting yes to Patriot Act extension
scrawled by Congressman Allen West on t‘ date o’ Windsday, Februarrry 9, 2011 roundabouts 12:41 in the evenin’
1- Several of the 911 terrorists used public computers to review their September 11th plane tickets- ( this happened in the very district I represent- so this is personal to me)
2- Without roving wiretap authority, investigators would be forced to seek a new court order each time they need to change the location, phone or computer that needs to be monitored. Terrorists and foreign spies use multiple communications devices to evade detection.
3- This provision would prevent terrorists who work on their own from escaping surveillance simply because they are not agents of a foreign power or avowed members of an international terrorist group: think Major Hasan- Fort Hood, and the Times Square Bomber
I care about this country and this all comes down to protecting us from a REAL enemy that has found a new battleground: The United States. Law abiding citizens liberties will be respected.

I’m white, conservative, and a veteran and I like him also, he is a good man. I’d vote for him in a minute over Obama or McCain or right now about anybody. He makes Obama look like Chavez.
Race has nothing to do with being a good person. Its truth and honesty, but mostly reliability. A man is only as good as his word, if his word is no good he is no good. That is fact, think about it. If a compulsive liar gives you his word how secure are you in the fact he will keep it? Now think about Obama’s word. Who do you like best?
See we both know it isn’t hard, now if we can make the progressives see the light we’ve saved the world.
