Poor Bill. How embarrassing for this idiot to stand in front of other supposedly educated people and make these kinds of pronouncements. Socialism has never worked and will never work. I guess the one class this nut case never passed was history. There is so much of it to look at for experience yet this idiot chooses to ignore it.

They were in a tizzy (teachers) here in my midwest city last fall over whether they were going to commit to the NEA or the AFT. That’s like choosing between Stalin or Mao to handle your affairs. If the teachers who oppose this crap (and claim they are forced into it) don’t start rebelling, the rest of us are left to become extremely “anti-school teacher” because we don’t have any way to tell who is who… only to gauge the overall effect of our supposed education (read indoctrination) system. It’s way beyond a “serious” problem… and yes, I have three kids in the system and I don’t see anything good coming out of it.

If he is representative of teachers in WI…we are in deep trouble. I‘m looking for comments on ’The Blaze’ from real teachers who are finally free of being “useful idiots”. You do not have to belong to a Union teachers…Again I will post the following:

Our nation’s founders, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, believed it was tyrannical to force individuals “to contribute even “three pence” for the “propagation of opinions which he disbelieves.” So they wrote in the Constitution and the Bill of rights, terms that would prohibit that kind of tyranny.

A union, however, can not, consistent with the Constitution, collect from dissenting employees any sums for the support of ideological causes not germane to its duties as collective-bargaining agent. The National Labor Relations Association rules are as follows:
Under the NLRA, you cannot be required to be a member of a union or pay it any monies as a condition of employment unless the collective bargaining agreement between your employer and your union contains a provision requiring all employees to either join the union or pay union fees.

Even if there is such a provision in the agreement, the most that can be required of you is to pay the union fees (generally called an “agency fee.”) Most employees are not told by their employer and union that full union membership cannot lawfully be required. In Pattern Makers v. NLRB, 473 U.S. 95 (1985), the United States Supreme Court held that union members have the right to resign their union membership at any time.

If you are not a member, you are still fully covered by the collective bargaining agreement that was negotiated between your employer and the union, and the union is obligated to represent you. Any benefits that are provided to you by your employer pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement (e.g., wages, seniority, vacations, pensions, health insurance) are not affected by your non-membership. (If the union offers some “members-only” benefits, you might be excluded from receiving those.)
If you are not a member, you may not be able to participate in union elections or meetings, vote in collective bargaining ratification elections, or participate in other “internal” union activities. However, you cannot be disciplined by the union for anything you do while not a member.

The Supreme Court, in Communication Workers v. Beck, 487 U.S. 735 (1988), a lawsuit that was supported by the Foundation, ruled that objecting nonmembers cannot be required to pay union dues. The most that nonmembers can be required to pay is an agency fee that equals their share of what the union can prove is its costs of collective bargaining, contract administration, and grievance adjustment with their employer.
Except in extraordinary cases, the union’s costs of collective bargaining, contract administration, and grievance adjustment do not equal the dues amount.

Beck makes clear that nonmembers required to pay union fees as a condition of employment have a right under the NLRA to object and obtain a reduction of their compulsory payments so that they do not include union expenses for purposes other than collective bargaining, contract administration, and grievance adjustment.

Lack of character is expecting other people to pay your way.

Lack of dignity is subjecting yourself to a public sector union.

This is making me sick! Here we have a governor that was legally elected by the people of Wis. They wanted a fiscal government. He is doing what they ask and has legally passed a law to limit collective bargining. He has done nothing illegal. Then we have these unions that are trying to disrupt the process of governoring. This should NEVER be allowed. They are trying to overtake the government process. Who runs Wis? The unions? or the taxpayers?? Who? Because unless the silent majority that elected Walker doesn’t soon speak out, or do something that state will be run by unions. I can’t bellieve that this is allowed to happen. They have every right to protest, but no right to interfere with the governing process. I have never in my life seen such behavior because certain people didn’t get their way. Wow!

Let me see if I have this corrrect. Millions of dollars are collected by unions from their ranks, to support democrat candidates, who in turn approve large pay raises and unsustainable pensions, far exceeding their private counter parts. This unethical mechanism has been so successful that some union bus drivers are now earning six figure salaries as per the URL below. (I guess the speaker forgot about these pesky facts.)

What do the teachers get paid in Russia, Cuba and Venezuela? Not what they make here. Pay them the socialist wages. Then, maybe they would have something to complain about. Also, if all of the protestors can miss work during the normal work week. Maybe they are not really needed. Get rid of them and save even more taxpayer money.

Back in 2009, Then Governor Doyle passed a bill that requires all teachers in the State of Wisconsin to teach Labor Unions and Collective Bargaining History. In the past 3 weeks, we have seen kids skip school to go and stand with their teachers up in Madison. Many of these kids do not understand what is really going on when they were asked. Instead of teaching true History, they are teaching this crap instead and only furthers the indoctrination process. Remember what Obama said in 2008, that they need to get kids “involved” because they will be our new generation of progressives.

These union leaders have to understand they have no revolution, nothing the people of America want or wish for – definitly not a socialist or communist nation either. If they feel so strongly about the way socialism or communism works, there are labor camps and reeducation camps within North Korea and Cuba where they would be welcomed with opened rifles and total disdain for the individual.

“The liberal progressive agenda is nothing more than a dishonest tyranny trying to reduce our citizens into subservient subjects of the bureaucratic nanny-state. The statist agenda is not about caring, it is about caretaking, and that is not in concert with our American principles. Therefore, as we go forward and we hear more about how Republicans hate women, how Republicans are not creating jobs, how Republicans are going to hurt Grandma….just see this for what it is, the diatribe of a losing philosophy which seeks enslavement, not empowerment- servitude and restraint, and not freedom and liberty.”

GAWD I love me some Lt. Col West!

      Semper Fi, Representative West!

First off, if that’s a member of the teachers union……our problems go far deeper than we know. The lack of basic grammar and pronunciation is astonishing….not to mention the “Teeachers…..” misspelling on the video. Man our kids in Wisconsin are in BIG trouble if this is even small measure of the union members :( Tell you what Bill, go get an education and then come back and try again.

The Blaze is back to their old tricks. Did you notice how there were subtitles for some of the words, but not all. Watch it again and see what was NOT given subtitles.

Second, part of the headline of this thread is this guy’s use of the word “revolution.” What is it? Glenn Beck has exclusive rights to that word? “The revolution is now… the revolution has begun…” Etc. Glenn is all about revolution, simply loves the word. And you object to this guy using that word?

Third, you got the guys meaning backwards. He says, “Anybody making 30K or 40K who think they can afford to be Republicans, is not living any kind of reality. Real Republicans don’t recognize the real “haves”, them, and these folks who think they can afford these principals. They can’t afford them. That’s not in their self-interest. That’s what we have to cure, that’s a pathology.”

He did not say being Republican was a pathology (irony alert: the common refrain here is that being liberal is a mental illness), the said that the lower classes are working against their own self-interest when they support, as the Republicans do, policies that make the rich richer, and the poor, poorer.

In Wisconsin the Governor first gave the rich businesses tax breaks, and then paid for it out of the pockets of the teachers. That‘s good politics if you’re a Republican because you can count on the rich, the few, to support your next election. But not so good for “We the People” when the wealth of this country is shifted toward making the rich ever richer, shrinking the middle class, and enlarging the class of poor people in this country.

Shame Blaze for your O’ Keefe style heavily edited video, selective use of subtitles, and your support for the rich instead of teachers and other working class folks in this country.

The video was not “edted” as you suggest. Yes, some of the words were given subtitles for emphasis. This is done all the time by journalists at all kinds of media outlets. Did you ever notice the words in italics in news stories?

And regarding the word “revolution”, it was “emphasized” in keeping with Beck’s claim/belief/assertation that REVOLUTION is exactly what the left is openly calling for, and the MSM is blatantly ignoring.

JZS….*sigh….and this is getting old explaining basic economics to you…
We are in a global economy, meaning, a corporation can base its operations where ever is most lucritive to that corporation. Let‘s say the US’s corporate tax rate is 35% and Irelands is 25%. Where do you think that corporation is gonna go? That corporation is going to be hiring Irish workers instead of Americans. America loses jobs.
You can’t force a company (i.e.corporation) to stay within our borders.
Now. Say a company stays and is taxed at say, 60% corporate tax. Whom do you think pays that? The corporation? No. They pass that tax along to the consumer in the form of retail price. And since EVERY competitor has to pay the same rate, then they will all pass that 60% on to the buyer, the consumer.
The ONLY way we will have more jobs here is to reduce the corporate tax rate to a level that makes it desirable for not only AMERICAN companies to stay….and CREATE jobs, but to make it lucrative for foreign companies to come in…AND HIRE AMERICANS.
This is information you have never heard, “I’m sure”, so take a minute to marinate on it.
      I eagerly await your response.

A Fool speaking to Fools. As long as unions are involved with labor, there is no peace.
      —————————————————–
I disagree. Part of the law that was passed in Wisconsin allows Union members to say where their dues can be spent. This way, their Union dues don’t go to support politicians that people dis-like or disagree with. This is an important step for those that don’t agree with what the Unions are doing right now. And there are many more than you know that do NOT agree with what their Unions are doing. Thank God!

This must be from the teachers’ union that is “educating” all the candidates for police officers and firefighters in Dayton. This is so sad because it typlifies what the unions have been answering whenever their endeavours have not gone well. To paraphrase the NY governor candidate: “the test is too damn hard!” Students aren’t doing well in school, the curriculum’s too hard, so dumb it down. Then the O pontificates about the lack of success in the education system and suggests the political answer: throw more money at it. He cries out in the wilderness so more scientists, doctors, nurses, etc. which he‘ll never get IF the students can’t read or add 1+1 and get two. Maybe, the O should try another solution from Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. and give everyone in the ghetto an ipod and a laptop. Where, oh where, has common sense gone?

No, it will not be the Streisands of this world who will sacrifice. It will be the ever shrinking middle class that has always paid and will continue to pay so that useful idiots like you can advertise your incredible ignorance. When Speilberg went to Castro, on his knees, and rejoiced in the 8 most important hours of his life, I truly felt sad for his children (if he has any.) Go home and suckle at the nanny state teat, loser. Your slave mentality cannot comprehend liberty and does not deserve it. And once in control, your masters will not give it to you. @AKIRA GOMI

I hope you are wrong. Slaves were counted as 3/5 of a human being, during slavery, for the purpose of congressional representation. Today, federal, state, and local governments find ways to confiscate about 1/2 of the sweat of our labor, but this “teacher” doesn’t think that being half slave is enough, they want more! If I object, then, I am mentally deranged.

During slavery, many slaves tried to escape from their enslavement. We, as Americans, just sit here, year after year, taking it from both the Dems and GOP.

Come to think of it, he’s right. As Americans, … , we must be deranged to keep putting up with this garbage.

The real revolution is going to come when someone puts their foot up this teacher rectum so that he can finally understand that: WE’VE HAD IT WITH THIS BS!

Mr. Teacher, don’t think you are the only one who is angry. Conservative talk-show hosts say that it’s the unions and not the teachers who are the problem. As a former public school teacher for 18 years, I can tell you: “IT’S THE TEACHERS, DUMB-ASSES!” How do you separate the two?

As an Afro-american and complete liberal, I can tell you that the destruction of the black community would’ve been impossible without the help of people like this so-called Communist Pimp Agitator.

The televised revolution you’re going to see, Mr. “Teacher”, is when your head spins after someone sticks a boot up you rectum.

Would you like to hear of a policy that creates poverty?

Sign welfare reform in 1996, then open the borders and stop enforcement of immigration laws at the workplace, and presto, massive poverty. Also, allow the unions to unionize these border-brakers.

I don’t mind you calling yourself a liberal, but if you don’t use common sense, you make all of us liberals look bad. To counteract the top-down, bottom-up, inside-out mentality, we need a right-hook,
left-hook, upper-cut approach to dealing with government. Cut from the top, DRAMATICALLY!

Both of Dem Baggers have Mr. Obama leading them as he plays Presidential Golf and picks his NCAA team. Their leader is a Muslim, Non-Believer in God, Christian and can’t seem to follow the Biblical admonition to not let idle words proceed out of his mouth. It appears he can‘t figure out which idle word he shouldn’t use. Meanwhile, Bill Franks praises his Union for taking the protest to a mob riot and onward to the death threat revolution stage for their supreme leader, as the WI leadership ponders whether or not to Bill Franks for his revolutionary damages to public property.

As an old *****, I heard this speech in the 60′s. We believed it then, and it seems we are believing it again. It remains the same, those of us blacks that are either too lazy or stupid stay at the goverments door and wait for our hand out. Then the ones that move out and create are called “Toms” and are asked to give back. When in fact we didn’t take anything from our brothers. The oppurtunity is the same for anybody. The “ you got the breaks” or “you were lucky” mentality, keeps the ***** race back in the 1620′s. We complain about the education system, when libarys are free. ( see asian rant, funny) . It is not only the *****. There are a lot of “poor white trash” that can’t open any thing harder than People mag.
Check out some of the old videos of the 60′s riots. Unfortunatly, it will come down to a mob of poor people raining hell on the streets of every major urban area in the country; MOVE OUT NOW.
