‘Team Obama’ Names & Shames Eight Private Citizens For Donating to Romney Campaign

The Obama reelection team has publicly accused eight private citizens who donated to the Mitt Romney campaign of “betting against America” and of having “less-than-reputable” records.

Apparently, making an example out of two GOP members of Congress wasn’t enough for President Obama; he has moved on to bigger game.

“This past week, one of [the president's] campaign websites posted an item entitled ‘Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney’s donors,’” Kimberly A. Strassel writes in the Wall Street Journal.

President Obama’s reelection campaign “names and shames” eight private citizens and describes them as having “less-than-reputable records.” In fact, the site goes so far as to say that “quite a few” of the donors have been “on the wrong side of the law” and that they have profited at “the expense of so many Americans.”

“The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money,” Strassel reports.

We cannot stress enough that these donors are private citizens.

“These are people like Paul Schorr and Sam and Jeffrey Fox, investors who the site outed for the crime of having ‘outsourced’ jobs,” Strassel writes.

“T. Martin Fiorentino is scored for his work for a firm that forecloses on homes. Louis Bacon (a hedge-fund manager), Kent Burton (a ‘lobbyist’) and Thomas O’Malley (an energy CEO) stand accused of profiting from oil. Frank VanderSloot, the CEO of a home-products firm, is slimed as a ‘bitter foe of the gay rights movement,’” she adds.

Not on of the donors is an elected official and none of them have been charged with a crime. Therefore, it would seem that they are only “on the wrong side of the law” because a) they are wealthy and b) they donated to a Republican.

“We don’t tolerate presidents or people of high power to do these things,” says Theodore Olson, the former U.S. solicitor general.

“When you have the power of the presidency — the power of the IRS, the INS, the Justice Department, the DEA, the SEC — what you have effectively done is put these guys‘ names up on ’Wanted’ posters in government offices,” he adds.

But maybe the president and his election team have nothing to do with singling out these private citizens –

How does the White House plan on explaining this one?

“The White House has couched its attacks in the language of ‘disclosure’ and the argument that corporations should not have the same speech rights as individuals,” Strassel explains.

However, the president is “doing the same at the individual level, for anyone who opposes his policies,” says Rory Cooper of the Heritage Foundation.

And it’s probably only going to get worse from here. Why? Because, as Strasell points out, the money game is not going so well for “Team Obama.”

“Super PACs are helping the GOP to level the playing field against Democratic super-spenders. Prominent financial players are backing Mr. Romney,” Strassel writes. “The White House’s new strategy is thus to delegitimize Mr. Romney (by attacking his donors) as it seeks to frighten others out of giving.”

During the 2008 election cycle, many Americans voted for President Obama in the hopes that, if anything, he would take the U.S. back to the days of Bill Clinton.

But, as Strassel notes, with President Obama stepping up the pressure on his political opponents and their supporters, it seems more like he has taken us back to the days of Richard “Enemies List” Nixon.

      During his entire presidential term, and may it be the only one, Obama has always sought to strike back at anyone who he sees as wronging him or daring to challenge him – in short almost everyone. His insanity has become so great and he is so unstable that nothing is beyond his ability to do anymore; he needs to be impeached due to insanity as this makes him ineffective to govern and execute the duties of his office.

      Also there is a matter of the treason he commits daily.

      Yes – how dare they – while they get funds from Communists and Muslim/American terrorists, traitors, etc. Agree with those that say Romney campaign better understand and start playng hardball – not with the lies & unethical stunts like the Dems do but just use TRUTHS, FACTS, HIS OWN WORDS and nail them with all the horrible things you can prove – it’s a SLAM DUNK if you do this. But no……can’t “go there” — read where that is Romney’s plan – to just stick to “he’s a nice guy, but he’s over his head” rhetoric and staying away from the hard, cold, terrifying facts. It‘s not going to be enough for many uninformed people to just talk about the economy and act like it’s “politics as usual”. Reminds me of McCain — disgusting and why he had such a hard time…until Sarah Palin came along. She is the reason most of us voted for him. But you don’t hear that either.
      People need to see the clear choice alright — between becoming a Communist country or “free”.

      I‘m surprised that they didn’t give out the addresses (a la Spike Lee) and phone numbers as well. I disagree with the Republican Party “Insiders” who believe that the Romney campaign shouldn’t get down in the dirt with with the Democrats and present a bigger, better list of Obama supporters and their “questionable” affiliations”. George S. Bush chose to ignore EIGHT YEARS of unfounded attacks from the Dems, didn’t respond, and consequently lies became truth in the minds of the misinformed.
      We CANNOT allow this President to have a second term; he needs to be voted out of office in November, and playing nicely isn’t going to cut it.

      Paul supporters are the most loyal supporters of any candidate ever. We are consistent and we support the most consistent candidate running. If more people would wake up to what is really going on, we could start to fix this failing country. I do not worry though, Paul is doing very well in the primary, better than the media outlets like Fox want to admit. They will not report on Paul unless they have no choice.       Harding went to the convention with 39 delegates and ended up becoming the 29th POTUS after the 10th vote. Romney only has 599 delegates right now and quite a few of them are actually Paul supporters. Paul is just behind him as there are a lot of Paul supporters mixed in with the unbound delegate pool. He will have around the same or more as Romney going to the convention, watch and see.

      Myself , wife, 3 sons and 3 daughter in- laws all Democrats voted for Hope and Change. Don’t like the changes and have given up on Hope. Myself and wife gave $500 to D. Party in 08 but have also given the $500 to the NRA this year. If we can’t stop Obama we will hopefully stop the attacks on the 2ND Amendment.     This greatly angers me. But…It is a good thing. Obama, and his whole ludicrous administration, is going to destroy itself. This is not going to fly with the greater majority of Americans…right or left. Even hard-core liberals are going to take offense of tactics like this.

      I hope more and more people will understand the danger and evil Obama and his policies represent; may we be able to take back the country and expunge the progressives poison from the nation and restore her – I know the size of the work will take a generation easily, yet we can do it.
