‘Tear Down the Empire’: Socialists Respond to Wikileaks by Calling for U.S. Demise

While most of the nation fears the fall out from the latest release of secret documents by Wikileaks, some groups are seeing it as an opportunity. Take the socialists, who have called on democratic socialists to use the leaks as motivation to “tear down the empire,” otherwise known as the United States.

Trevor Loudon sets it up:

Andrea Pason and Billy Wharton are co-chairs of the Socialist Party USA. They just published this statement in LINKS, an international marxist journal run by the Australian Socialist Alliance.

Now the statement (emphasis added by Loudon):

The latest Wikileaks revelations should be a call to action for all Americans. It is time to tear down the empire that has been created in their name. Two tasks are first and foremost. We need to create a vibrant movement to end the wars being waged in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan. No more occupations, no more military surges and no more drone attacks. Simultaneously, we must demand that the prison facility at Guantanamo Bay be closed immediately. Achieving such demands will open a political space to more directly challenge the centre of the military industrial complex by calling for an immediate reduction of the military budget by 50% and the closing of all US military bases abroad.

As democratic socialists, we imagine another society, where the great wealth this world produces is put to use to meet human needs. Such a world would not need the secret cloak that covers the operations of the US empire. It would, instead, be based on notions that seem very distant from our current reality – democracy, free association and self-determination. We think that democratic socialism holds the potential to live up to these lofty ideals. Let the Wikileaks disclosures provide the motivation for you to join in this struggle.

    It’s sad, if people such as those who put out this drivel, actually believe in what they say. It’s inherently evil as well as destructive, particularly if they know quite well what the results of turning societies into their ‘dreamland’ of socialist utopias would be.
    The world has, to its great misfortune, repeatedly had to re-learn the mistakes of the past by having such societies come about, with the self-interested governments that it takes to accomplish these ‘lofty’ goals, and the millions in death that are also necessitated in order to accomplish this uprising and installation of such a system.
    Unfortunately for most of the world, those lessons are usually cloaked in denial and purged from the minds of everyone by non-reporting or outright obliteration from textbooks, etc., in order that the inherent fallacies of such utopias are never brought to light. Take, for example, the millions of deaths caused by such ‘benevolent’ societies as those under the command of the likes of Stalin (ask an older Ukranian), or Mao Tse Tung (ask an older chinese person), or Fidel Castor with the help of friends such as Che Guevarra (not sure if I spelled his name correctly, sorry). These murderers did not stand for freedom, or individual liberty and personal responsibility, democracy, self-determination, or any other worthwhile goal. They, empowered by the systems that are supposedly intended to help the poor and dis-enfranchised, continue to seek more power and control over the citizenry, with barely a concern for their true welfare.
    If people such as this individual and the organizations with whom they affect a certain bond continue to believe, and encourage in others, that the destruction of the U.S. ‘empire’ would benefit all of humanity, then they are liars and charlatans, and cheat people around the world out of the best hope of true freedom, individual and otherwise, to live out their lives for the benefit of themselves as well as others. The question is whether they really believe what they say, or know for a fact that they wear masks of deceit, belying their true intentions.
    I defer to the latter when hearing statements that insist on the need to cut our military budget by 50% and close all bases overseas. What is the logical basis for even attempting such action. What true benefit would there be. Or is it there belief that simply removing ourselves from all over the world would pacify those groups that desire to do us harm, because of what we and our nation stand for? The ignorance is astounding! To release ourselves from such obligations and to thereby relieve those despots and evil-doers in the world of the pressure of our presence and, perhaps, threats, does not encourage the changes that you purport to desire. It only provides them with the opportunity to expand and explore the opportunities to wrought death and destruction in their names, in support of their stated purposes… our eventual destruction and eradication.
    I, for one, would prefer to stay here for a while, preferably without the threat or eradication from some dewey-eyed socialist/marxist/communist/anarchist. Whether or not they actually believe that is the result of their belief systems, it turns out to be the usual result!!!

    This is actually good, because it’s waking up Americans and other freedom-loving people in the world. We fell asleep, and for decades these people have been working underground, quietly, and out of sight. Now they see their chance and are coming out of the woodwork. Time and the accountant’s ledger are not with them, however. Socialism/collectivism is going bankrupt, and is collapsing globally.

    Communists and socialists became a sort of joke while we slept, and we failed to see how their cancer was eating away our substance.

    The more we have the discussion about what’s happening and why, the better it is for us.
    This is all part of the Apocalypse, which is a Greek word that means “a parting of the veil”.

    You’re closer to the truth than you know JRCESS. WikiLeaks is funded by OSI which is SOROS funded, actually it’s one of SOROS flagship tools for attacking non-socialist governments. But let’s be realistic. When the socialists are calling for their minions to take up arms they are really getting desperate. They know that the jig is up and that most GOOD Americans know that the socialistic left is an always will be weak and ineffective. Sure they can win some elections by lying and tricking people but “We the people” will not stand for a takeover.

    ask these same people how many of their dollars are sent off to help those less fortunate. I would bet it all that these same people who despise this great country are the same who enjoy all of the wonderful perks freedom allots. Tearing down the military by removing all the troops stationed abroad is simply nonsense due to not only our interests but the country we are welcomed in. Freedom requires sacrifice and difficult decisions because of the evil these people ignore exists. I have said it all to often, why not move to a country which shares your ideological beliefs like North Korea? Oh that’s right, you like your freedom!

Camp Gitmo is the Socialist dream, where the government covers all of your expenses, housing, food, medical care, prayer rugs and a copy of the Koran all paid for by people that actually contribute to society.     I BELIEVE this scenario is outlined well in ‘the Coming Insurrection’, Cloward and Pivens documents, Van Jones and company, and the multiple ‘isms’ in history. They are bolder by the day—-even by the hour—words, actions, deeds. Crunch time is coming—-ARE WE READY? They want our souls after they have consumed our material being. Are we going to let them? Visions of ‘1984’ and ‘Atlas Shrugged’ are dancing in my head. No more procrastination, wishful thinking, or hoping they will self-destruct will work. Senator Menendez speaks of us being ‘terrorists’, McCaskell speaks of taking up the pitchforks because we are the whiney and pouty bunch. What are they thinking!? I am tired of sending my hard earned money and listening to such garbage. Do they think this is their OWN pocketbook we are robbing? I hate being melodramatic, but the table is being set and WE are the main entree. :-/

    Bill Clinton and Hillary as well as the rest of the Obama administration all want to destroy the United States as we know it. It would not surprise me if they planned the release of the wikileaks documents. This destroys the country and destroys the will of the people. No other nation can trust the US. This was intentional. Hillary Clinton is the one responsible and should be tried for treason along with the other state department officials involved.

      But, what I can’t for the life of me figure out, is WHY? What’s in it for them in and what is the end game? When you bring a mass of people down to your level, or a level you perceive them to be at, don’t you, in fact, destroy that which currently has been good?       BURTHILLS, you are a excellent example of how the time for plain and simple talk about what’s happening has come, and what will have to be done.

      Lock and load America, because the time for talking it almost over. Socialists/Marxists/Communist/traitors will have a much more difficult time spewing their traitorous hatred when they have to say it to the faces of thousands of angry patriots. Arm yourselves, prepare and think about joining a “Constitutional Militia”….these are the groups that our founding fathers provided for, in the event that our government endangered this country, and soon they will be sorely needed. I never thought the day would come that I would actually recommend what I just said, but all other other options are quickly evaporating and if we want to preserve this Republic, we will soon have to fight for it.

      Seek out experienced senior citizens, veterans and any trustworthy people with law enforcement experience, because you will find they are a fountain of useful knowledge for the near future. Many of our older generation have seen the tough economic times before and have the remembered skills to survive, while veterans have the training to save this country, when the forces of evil come to your doorstep. Knowledge is power, so like Glenn recommends, get your hands on any useful books and read. Get to know your neighbors, network with like minded people at your churches or anywhere else you can find, and remember, “united we stand, divided we fall”.

      And finally, prepare, prepare, prepare…..God may bless America, but we will will be expected do our part to protect it as well.

      I don’t agree with their end game but they should have every right to petition for redress but to say we should unleash our special operation soldiers to assassinate them for disagreeing with current policies and wanting change?       Does this meet the legal definition of Sedition? Seeking to foment rebellion and strife within the lands of the USA? If this is just free speech, fine, they have the right, for now. If it is criminal, then they do need to be stopped.

      It is the Progressive extremists like these dingbats who we need to watch out for. Only once incident will be needed by them for a ‘crackdown on extremists and hate groups’ which will mostly include each and everyone of the right, conservative and libertarians especially.

      I do not understand the fascination with socialism–anywhere in the world. If the underlying idea that the masses will be taken care of by the few who have worked hard to succeed, then do the few have the right to ask the many to make behavorial concessions? Can they ask everyone to stop doing things that are detrimental to their health, mandate only one or two children because of the cost of raising them, mandate volunteerism in return for that support, on and on. The idea of a few people working to support a lot of people who don’t is nuts.

      @JOHN SEVEN EIGHTEEN We do have combat operations and drone attacks within Pakistan border. Could you call this war with Pakistan? Yes and no. Have we declared war on Pakistan? Of course not. Have we declared war on Afghanistan? no. Yet we still have combat operations in that country. War is such a loose term these days.

      I want this empire that was once a great nation to be dismantled as well. Should you charge me with sedition? If you really want to charge me, find me and report me to my chain of command, give me your email address. I’ll send you my full name and unit. Let them chapter me out for my political beliefs. It’ll serve me better in the long run.

      Though I don‘t agree with where they’d like to take this empire once it’s dismantled I do agree that it SHOULD be dismantled. Socialism has no place in a truly free society. Socialism can work on a small scale community similar to how the Amish live. It cannot work in a diverse nation. Freedom, which gives you the freedom to develop small socialist communities, is what we need. Big Government would have to be forced to leave those small communities alone.

      Americans are standing, and these feeble little Nimrods are absolutely terrified. This is simply the progression of a failed thought process. Your arguments stand no chance in the American/Constitutional arena, so then you lie, distort and call the opposition names. And still we stand. Your argument has failed, and the fact that we stand composed and unafraid behind God drives you nuts. At this point you’re left with only 2 options; Admitting you’re wrong, or violence in an effort to destroy those that disagree.

      The last thing I ever want to see as veteran is another American civil war. But be forewarned that if you start this fight you will personally experience the full wrath of the American.

      The American will proudly in amazing displays of selflessness lay down his life for God, freedom, the constitution and his fellow Americans. So, you now have to ask what you would die for? What will you lay down your life for? Money? Housing? The environment? Global warming? Health care? World Government? A dictator?       If you will note, after the question of this being legally defined as sedition, I still mentioned that they have a right to fair speech being protected until the administration finally takes it away. Just as each of the posts made here still have the same freedoms.

      The question is WHAT is the line between freely protected speech and actual sedition for the forment of armed rebellion and the overthrowing of the government? Where is the line so WE the People know what to watch for in the radical groups of all areas pushing towards that line.
