Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

Tim Tebow’s favorite bible verse is John 3:16. He had that verse inscribed in his eye-black during the NCAA National championship game in 2009.

Lynne Sladky / AP
Last year, when Florida unveiled a statue of Tim Tebow, that same bible verse is on his eyes.

In December, during a post game interview, Tebow reiterated to a young lady that his favorite bible verse is, indeed, John 3:16.
With all of this in mind, is it really surprising to learn that, against the very tough Steelers defense, Tim Tebow threw for 316 yards and averaged 31.6 yards per pass? If you are skeptical, check the math here.
Coincidence?
For those not familiar with John 3:16 -
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 8:05amTebow is not really an exceptional Quarterback. But he most definitely is a decent Christian who believes in his faith in God. He sends a great message that our belief in God must be above everrything else. Christians have been persecuted and mocked many times but our numbers grow and more people accept Jesus as their personal Savior. Always has been this way, always will be. Atheists and Socialists belong in the same pot of filth. Sick, demented wretches who hate the world and love to spread their filthy message. In the end of course just like the devil they will be pushed aside by the wayside by those who truly believe. God will protect, he will be there and one thing for sure these cockroach atheists and socialists must know. HE is watching….

You’re the one who views the “Afterlife” better then “this life.”
You can’t wait for the end times which means massive death because “hey, Jesus is coming!”

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 11:29am@NHABE64: Please take a look inside of yourself. I don’t know what possesses you to call people filth, but I know Jesus came here through His desire that none should perish.
He hates that which is already condemned, Satan and those who fell with Him.
He showed, and we as Christians should be showing, His compassion for those who are lost before they die and cannot be redeemed.
Ask Him to help you to look at the lost in the way He did. He went to the homes of sinners and loved them to God.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 1:24pm@NHABE64 and to add to the point……it is not our place as christians to judge. I have many atheists as friends and they are just as good of people as anyone else. So they think along different lines, that’s for them to do. Our first and one of our greatest gifts is that of free agency. When we condemn others for them using their free agency we only hurt ourselves. Says we can’t even live by our own principles. Have an open heart my friend.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 4:17pm@ NHABE64 – Please remember that as Christians we are to love ALL people (agape love), regardless of their convictions. By calling atheists and socialists ‘….sick, demented wretches’ is not following what God wants us Christians to do and only adds to the negative image that many Christians cause have caused us to have by not being tolerant and forgiving to our fellow man. It is not for us to judge what is in another man’s heart, for that is God’s job. It is for us to pray for our fellow man that they believe in and follow God’s will.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 8:01amI am not saying that God cares about football. I am also not saying he doesn’t.
Report Post »I am proud of anyone who stands up and proclaims for all to see and hear that they believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord. That the God of the Bible is the ONE and ONLY TRUE GOD. Tebow gives God the Glory while not glorifying himself. How many “professional” athletes do you see doing this? I for one am sick of seeing every player that does their job celebrate like they just won the Super Bowl after every play.
I watched the 1st quarter of that game and then went to evening church, when I got home I turned the game back on to catch the last 9 minutes. I was shocked to see that the Broncos were actually winning.
And that ending? I looked at my wife and said, “ It sure makes you wonder”.
Then I find out that his stats are 316.
It sure makes you wonder.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 11:59amAnd why wouldn’t God work through a football player who truly adores Him? What does the world focus on this time of year? Football. When it comes to this game, what is the focus of the story? Tim Tebow’s faith and the end result; highlighted by the correlation between scripture and Tebow’s statistics. I say amazing…and may Tim Tebow’s entire life be a shining light for Christ and an example of how rich and full a life can be for those who believe in Him. Carry on Tim…millions upon millions are loving every minute of it.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 7:49amOk, so how does this work?
Yahweh gets the credit when Tebow has a good game (and even throws in some passing yardage numerology to boot) but is absolutely blameless when he throws four interceptions and stinks the place up?
Of course, that’s not how it works in real life, so it’s obvious that religion is sillier than football.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 8:09amI’m sorry, I don’t hear Tebow criticizing or making fun of you, so just put a sock in it. If it’s not the way you live your life day-to-day, so be it, but for those of us who believe in something greater than ourselves (yes, and even our daily failures), this is refreshing. I hope my grandchildren grow up to be like Tebow – with character, work ethic, faith, honesty and integrity. Those are characteristics we should all strive for and hope our children/grandchildren do too.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 8:03pmI’m not a football fan at all but I did watch the finale of the game this Sunday and that was great. It would’ve been great even if Pittsburgh had won – and I doubt not that God would have been glorified one bit less. Perhaps you’ve not noticed from the subject of these posts that the emphasis has been totally on Jesus – not on Tim or on winning – just on Jesus! No coincidence there for sure. Please think about the message here – not the man or the game! Go John 3:16!!!!!!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
People take these scriptures and apply a singular selfish understanding to them with no consideration of other scriptures to understand the one they take a liking to.
Report Post »Jesus said, “If you believe in me then you will do as I have done.” That means to conquer the earth as Jesus has done, but not necessarily to do the act of getting crucified.
Therefore people should be advised that even Lucifer believes in Jesus, but Lucifer doesn’t do as Jesus has done, and Lucifer despises Jesus, but yet “Believes” in Jesus.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 7:27amWhat person who truly loves their child would give up their child for another person to live? Multiply that love by a billion and then maybe you will just begin to to touch on the love the Father had for his son. So those who disappoint the lord after that great giving surely then must understand the anger of the Lord if they disappoint the Lord after that great giving.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 7:34amAnd what effort do people even still not put into seeing the division of the light? Hardly any. Everyone reflects the light to varying degrees, and it’s called “How the light is divided.” And yet, even after these thousands of years, people still think the planet was created in 6 days. No, the “Light” was divided in 6 days.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 7:47amYou see, that’s what you were to have supposed to learn from God giving up his only begotten son “If you understand the love of your own children” then you will understand how mad the Lord is going to be if you let down the Lord.
