Ted Turner Wants The U.N. To Force Nuclear Disarmament… of Israel, America, and Everyone!

In a strange and (at times) creepy interview, Ted Turner wandered into his old stomping ground at CNN and was interviewed by Piers Morgan.

The lonely billionaire shared some intimate details about his life, including his four girlfriends and how “difficult” it is to maintain these relationships:

Turner also chatted with Piers about his dismissal from CNN, how “getting fired” hurt his feelings, and why CNN’s ratings keep sliding lower and lower.

Of course Turner and Morgan did spend time talking about less frivolous topics, like global politics.

When it comes to the current situation in the Middle East, Ted believes that the Iranian nuke problem can best be handled by forcing Israel to give up its nuclear weapons. Once that happens, he believes that Iran will stop pursuing their weaponized nuclear program.

Morgan asked what a “President Turner” would do with the Iranian situation:


 

Well, first of all, I believe in total nuclear disarmament. That‘s the only way we’re ever going to get there.  We all got to play by the same set of rules. We have 2,000 or several thousand nuclear weapons. Iran has none at the current time. It’s okay for Israel to have 100, but it’s not okay for Iran to have two.

The twisted Turner logic about nuclear weapons continued as he followed that statement with this one:

You have no strong position except force. Only by force can it be done. I think we’ve already voted at the U.N. and the Security Council to get rid of nuclear weapons. Let’s get rid of them. Let’s get rid of ours, and then Iran will stop, I believe, and everybody else will because if everybody doesn’t have them, then we’re safe – at least safe from a nuclear attack.

The Turner Doctrine, as it were, also uses the classic “mom” advice that says, If you want a friend, be a friend:

…if you treat people with dignity, respect, and friendliness like I did with the Russians and the Soviets before them with the Goodwill Games, if you try and make friends, you can make friends and you can do that even with former enemies. Japan bombed us at Pearl Harbor, and now we’re good friends with the Japanese. We fought China in the Cold War, but now we’re good friends with the Chinese, most of us are.

It seems forgot about WWII and how we ended the war with Japan.

And what about Ted’s good friends, the Russians? Just this week, Russia threatened a first-strike on NATO missile installations.

Did Ted also miss the tense situation between America and China that dominated the news on Thursday? Did CNN not have the sound turned up on the monitors in the green room?

By the way, Ted Turner gave up his role as Vice Chairman of CNN after the merger of Time-Warner and AOL did not go to his liking. When he left the company, Ted’s shares of stock in the company was estimated to be around 32 million, and worth over a billion dollars back then.

    Another great example of “lib logic….or illogic” that is. I highly recommend the book “Ameritopia” by Mark Levin..
    They refuse to grasp or accept the realities of human nature, etc. Don‘t like and can’t handle reality period. They are very dangerous, frightening to have in any “capacity” that has to do with running the country – in anything. They also don’t “get it” about Islam & “evil” – so many things that are important to be informed and realistic about. So here we are, with all the “sickies”/Communists running our country (or shall I say “ruining”) & those that aren‘t like that in elected offices aren’t doing anything about it except to hope and wish the elections in Nov. will solve it. I wish that would be the other subject matter Hannity and the rest would get on their “soapbox” about.

      No chance for a rational man utilizing logic in an irrational world. There is no case for continuation of nuclear weapons. They merely increase the probability of conventional war. They are not a deterrent with respect to anything. At this point they are big business and a negotiating chip for countries like N. Korea and Iran. They are a primary component of our failed foreign policy over the past 40 years.

      @teamarcheson Wow let‘s hope you didn’t work too hard on your statement. The US has 10,000 warheads, 5,000 plus active and 5,000 in reserve stockpiles. Any one of which capable of virtuallyl annihilating all but largest countries on earth. And of course if you had done any research you would know that the current figures are the result of treaties and agreements that predate the current President. As witnessed by the interest in countries like N. Korea and Iran, the presence of nuclear weapons continues to become an increasing threat to the world not a deterrent.

      Call me a “liberal” or whatever but I agree with him. Lets get rid of all of our nukes. They serve one purpose, and one purpose only. To destroy. They have no defensive purpose. All they do is create a looming threat. I firmly believe it is time that we sit down with China, and Russia and agree to get rid of all of our nukes. There is no need to have them, except for the slaughter of millions of innocents. There is next to no military use for them (meaning we can’t use them JUST to take out military targets, they will take out civilians as well) and they destroy the environment (not a green hippy or anything, but it is pretty obvious that nuclear fallout makes it kind of hard living somewhere…) I am not calling for all armies to put down their arms. But I am saying destroy the nukes. Lets use the uranium for power generation, and pure destruction.

      Duh, that should be ‘1812’! Must have Tchaikovsky on my mind. Oh yeah, before anybody tosses it me that he was a homosexual, I am well aware of that. Still like some of his music. Used to set my speakers in the window of my 2nd floor room in Wildflecken and play Enter The Valkyrie as 1/68th Armor used to run by during PT. They would change their cadence song as they neared our building just to cast insults. I just drowned them out.

      There is no way to verify that a nation has dismantled its nukes. We have to have them in order to protect our citizens–it is a constitutional requirement to protect the life, liberty and property of our citizens–read carefully Amendments 5 and 14.       Plus I also have trouble with it “working”. Sigh……….anyway – yes, of course we need to get them home but I‘m afraid that’s another area we have to work hard to change in the minds of the Repubs.as well. I’ve heard some say they want to but fear appearing “non-patriotic” and re-election. We have to change that perception by uniting & having enough of us saying this so they won’t feel that way.

    Everyone should have nukes so nobody can attack anyone, Nukes stop wars people that is why USSR and USA did not go to war. that is why Pakistan and India did not go to war. That is why after Israel obtained nukes no other country attacked them. Iran doesn’t want to be attacked so there going after nukes cause they feel threatened.       Turner is a war monger? Hahahahahaha. He is anything but a war monger, but just hypocritical enough to make millions running old war movies on his TV stations.
      We did continue to build nukes during the Cold War era mainly as a deterrent to the Soviet Union, but you are over simplifying the situation. How long has Israel had nukes? And, why have they not used them yet? Apparently, the surrounding Muslim nations who still threaten to destroy them have not seen them as a deterrent yet. Israel has not nuked Iran for the heck of it either, nor have they nuked Iran for their proposed threats yet either. As for the Soviets being worried about the U.S. supposed threat, the U.S. went back to war twice and did not use nukes. There was no reason to do so. What the world does not need is nations who may start tossing nukes around once they finally are able to build them. Israel sure smacked Iraq down 7 June 1981 with their attempt to build a nuke plant that could produce weaponized nuclear material.

      Israel had nukes during the Yom Kippur War and were attacked. Hamas and Hezbollah have both repeatedly attacked Israel over the past few years. And why would having an enemy you can‘t attack and who knows you can’t attack be a good thing? It wasn’t a good thing when large corporations in the US knew (or thought they knew) they would bailed out and couldn’t fail. If Iran gets a nuke they’ll use it politically to influence the entire region and might even grant the technology to their terrorist friends.

      There was 1 occasion post-1945 when the US should have used nuclear weapons: immediately after 9/11, on the sparsely populated Afghan-Pakistan border regions where Al Qaeda was known to have its headquarters. This would have enraged world opinion, but would have had a powerful deterrent effect on others who might have thought of attacking the US. The Afghans could have been left to sort things out among themselves, thousands of Americans would not have died there, and Obama would not be able endlessly to pat himself on the back for having killed Osama.

    Aren’t there laws banning guns in many of this nations cities? Who stopped carrying them? The law abiding, that’s who stopped carrying. Who is in more danger in these cities that ban guns……….the law abiding of course..

    The lawless do not abide by the rules Ted, they just take advantage of the ones who do.
