Teen Survives 20-Feet, Head-First Fall Off Escalator During Drunk Hijinx

Shane O’Malley, an 18-year-old from Cambridge, MA, is lucky to be alive today. That’s because he survived a 20-feet fall from an escalator during a recent drunk hijinx. And he doesn’t even remember it.

Here’s the shocking video:

WCVB-TV has the details:

“We had been to a concert — the Dispatch concert. We had been drinking before the concert and then at the concert and I, obviously, got too drunk and was irresponsible,” O’Malley said.

Within seconds, O’Malley lost his balance and fell to the concrete floor below. He lay motionless for several minutes as friends gathered around him.

O’Malley was taken Beth Israel Hospital for treatment. He was released after treatment for a fractured elbow, according to his family.

“My back’s killing me. It might just be wicked stiff but it’s making it really difficult to get around,” he said.

Obviously it’s time for the reinstatement of The Volstead Act once again…

If Budweiser were illegal then stuff like this would stop happening.

Just great … another idiot possessing the ability to sue for his own stupid actions, much like the woman that tripped into the fountain at the mall while texting. Probably be some Government regulation that requires higher rails to prevent such an action. Instead of all of these regulations, why doesn’t the Government just create more jobs and have everybody followed by a Government agent, someone that can prevent them from smoking, drinking while driving, littering, making too much noise, being abusing to their kids, and so on.

He asked for it and he got it. He knows right from wrong. I don’t want to hear anymore about teens having immature brains. There wasn’t a herd of kids doing this. Most of them have figured out vandalism, pain, cause and effect.

    No more sympathy – sorry.

      Rules for the Escalator:

      Keep feet on the stairs.
      Hold onto the handrail.
No handstands on the handrail. (don’t even try it, Shane!)
      No skateboarding on the handrail.
No sitting on the handrail, it’s a HANDrail, not a BUTTrail.

Violators of these rules will only be allowed to use stairs in the future, and only with a SPOTTER.
(ESPECIALLY if your name is Shane O’ Malley)
