Did This Teen Murder His Parents Over Their Opposition to His Alleged Occupy Oakland Involvement?

The Occupy movement has had both a resurgence in terms of protest activity and media coverage. Following arrests this week in Oakland and New York, a disturbing story is coming out of California, where prosecutors claim Moses Kamin, a 15-year-old boy, murdered his foster parents and subsequently stuffed their bodies into a car.

Now it may seem odd that this allegedly gruesome act would be connected to the Occupy movement — and it‘s entirely possible that it’s not — but let’s take a look at what we know so far. The boy, who will be tried as an adult, was apparently fighting with his foster parents over the time he was spending at the Occupy Oakland camp. After all, what parent wants his or her young and impresionable teenager hanging out around those shenanigans?

“Coworkers said the couple had been arguing with their foster son. Some of the fights were over him spending too much time in the Occupy Oakland encampment,” reports KTVU.com. “A family friend told KTVU that those arguments were not what led to the killings but would not say what did.”

The International Business Times has more:

Moses Kamin was arraigned in Alameda County Superior Court for allegedly murdering Robert Kamin, 55, and Susan Poff, 50. Kamin faces two counts of murder and, if convicted, a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Police detained the youth on Friday after the bodies of his foster parents were discovered in a red PT Cruiser parked outside the family house, according to the Oakland Tribune. Scorch marks were found on the car because Kamin had attempted to set the gas tanks on fire. After he confessing the details of the crime, police said, they formally arrested him on Saturday morning.

Kamin was adopted by Kamin, a clinical psychologist in the San Francisco jail system, and Poff, a physician with the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Housing and Urban Health Clinic, in 2002.

In November, police claim that Kamin, who has a black belt in karate, ran away to protest with the Oakland Occupiers. It is suspected that the young boy may have even burglarized his own home and stolen the family car. Clearly, he was a troubled youth who was engaging, according to reports, in various acts of defiance.

Kamin was also recently suspended from school on a number of occasions. Tensions surrounding these incidents, sources say, may have created a portion of the motive. While there’s no telling how much time the boy spent at Occupy Oakland and how much influence the movement had on his thinking, the connection — and his parents opposition to his alleged involvement — is noteworthy.

Authorities suspect that he first strangled his mother following an argument. Then, after waiting for his father to come home, he attacked and murdered him as well. When his father didn’t show up to work the next day, concerned co-workers alerted police and the bodies were inevitably discovered after they questioned the teen.

As noted, Kamin’s father was a psychologist in the San Francisco jail system. Considering this background, he surely would have had the skills to assist in son in dealing with whatever traumatic issues he was internally facing. Sadly, the story didn’t end that way.

“Bob’s strength was dealing with people in jail, who are in terrible situations and very demanding,” said Robert’s brother Bruce Kamin. “It‘s too bad that his own son couldn’t benefit from that.”

While he initially denied the crime, Kamin has since admitted to strangling his adoptive mother and father. He faces two counts of murder and could receive a life sentence with no chance of parole.

      To ACLUHater:
It’s not that “Young liberal can be dangerous”.
Young liberals ARE dangerous because the role of brain in them is being performed by boiling sperm instead: pure young uncontrollable emotions, zero intellectual brakes, absence of maturity multiplied by young radicalism à la “I need everything at once and I need all that right now.”
Unfortunately, it’s a common psychological portrait of the youth that was/is not bred properly by either too much working or, quite the contrary, non-working parents and screwed and brainwashed by our monstrously twisted educational system.

It looks to me like the parents adopted a criminal, applied all of their pc liberal touchy feeley it takes a viillage child raising theories, and had an unfortunate, yet quite predictable result. Shrinks working for the san fran justice system? You KNOW they are lefties! You know they did not have a gun in the house, just in case the black belt criminal snapped, as they are against all kinds of violence. I’m surprised that the bodies were not found in a Prius or a Chevy Volt. But at least it was a government motors car. THis guy went to the Occupy protests, came back filled with marxist rage, and when his parents objected, he suddenly realized that they were running dog bourgois kulak counterrevolutionaries, which gave him the Occupy approved moral justification to kill them and take their stuff. Not the first time this has happened, and won’t be the last. But letting him ride the lightning I’ll bet would cut down on it some…

“Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that‘s where it’s really at,” – Bill Ayers (1969?); NY Times.

You know, with all the information floating around about the guy, I hadn’t run across that before. Thanks for the heads up. I looked it up because it sounded too crazy to be true. Sure enough, it was true. Bill Ayers was confronted by a NY Times writer about it and Ayers said he didn’t remember saying it, but acknowledged he might have and that it was probably a joke about getting back at the rich.

How in the world did a man with a middle name of Hussein get elected to the Presidency of the United States less than 10 years after 9/11? How in the world did a man who repeatedly made the case that the Constitution needed to be changed or reinterpreted on a fundamental level get to be President of the U.S.? How in the world did a man who sat in church with Rev. Wright as his preacher get to be President of the U.S.? How in the world did a man who was an open Marxist in college get to be President of the U.S.? While I agree this young man had many issues which caused him to commit such a heinous act to say there is no connection to the Occupy movement is rather naïve – I would argue it was a mitigating factor because it was part of the escalating tension within that household – of him ‘running’ away to be part of the Occupy movement, of him spending too much time at Occupy and ignoring his school work. The Occupy movement probably drew him not because of ideology (although he certainly had the same entitlement attitude) but because of the violence the Oakland Occupy movement has erupted into. I will submit you will see more people like this troubled young man at these Occupy protests and just like this young man, who I will also submit could not articulate why he was there, the reason is not some higher cause but rather the lure of the chaos and anti-establishment these movements are becoming. He certainly had many other issues but being drawn to the Occupy movement did play a role in his decision to kill his parents – maybe not the major role but it was part of the chasm that was dividing this family and the lawlessness being taught, so to speak, at the Oakland Occupy movement certainly did not help the situation. He felt entitled and while he did not get that attitude from the Occupy movement, being there reinforced it.

Their endorsement has nothing to do with socialism or marxism, but with “preaching non-violence”…wink, wink.

This would include the Nancy Pelosi’s, Harry Reid’s, Debbie Wassermann Schultz’s, Dick Durbin’s, the Chuck Schumars of life, as well as many many more, both in this current generation and extending at least as far back as woodrow Wilson with his cadre of Warburgs and other elitist progressives with which he surrounded himself. Just to enlighten, those who surrounded Wilson, his political appoinntees, were actually picked by others to fill those positions, which is the same thing that is being done today – the shadow government. it will beyond a shadow of a doubt take a well organized grass roots movement to grapple with all their strength and might, inspired by and directed by the Spirit of God to unseat these forces of darkness, and, yes there are profoundly an unfortunately healthy lot of the same tripe in the Republican Party.
