Texas Governor Rick Perry in 2012? The answer is. . .

A week ago, as Huckabee and Daniels announced they were NOT running, pundits wondered where all the serious GOP presidential candidates were hiding. If you answered Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Alaska, give yourself a gold star.
We now know that Mitt Romney is going to announce his Presidential run next week, Michele Bachmann says that she too will make it official in early June, and Sarah Palin’s bus trip has folks wondering about her intentions. But what about Rick Perry of Texas?
Our friends at KTRH radio in Houston Texas have confirmed with the governor’s offices that Rick Perry is giving serious consideration to tossing his hat into the ring:
The longest serving governor in Texas history reversed course today after saying for months that he wasn’t interesting in running for the White House.
The governor was asked if he would you consider running for president. Perry answered that he’s focused on the session but, according to spokesperson Katherine Cesinger, “Would think about it just like he thinks about a lot of things important to the people on the state of Texas.”
Earlier this week, the station tossed around the idea of a Perry candidacy:
KTRH also reports:
Many KTRH political insiders say Perry might be popular but doubt that he could raise the funds needed to win the Republican nomination.
But that hasn’t stopped Perry from at least considering. The story is breaking across the country with the Associated Press reporting:
Perry has been a darling of the tea party and could ignite a groundswell of support among the libertarian-leaning, anti-tax movement. He was an early endorser of the groups that helped Republicans take control of the U.S. House, statehouses and governors’ offices in 2010.
As stated earlier, a once barren candidate field is fast becoming filled with a wide selection of GOP presidential hopefuls.

Posted on May 27, 2011 at 4:20pmYes , Perry has some good points and I’ve been forced to vote for him the last 2 elections …… but …… let’s not forget the Trans-Texas Coridor where private land owners were being forced to give up their land and then there was “ Gardisil” where his Big Pharma donors convinced him that every preteen girl in the state should receive their new wonder drug. This man has proven himself to be a pure politician ( never met a bribe he didn’t like ). So why did I vote for him ? Based on my very vocal displeasure with him, I have been asked that many times. My answer is always the same ……. that no matter how big a slimeball he is , or corrupt he is , or even the fact that he is indeed a member of the Bilderberg Group which reduces him to a sub human species , in other words ,the lowest form of humanity on the planet …… AT LEAST HE’S NOT A DEMOCRAT !!!!!!

“Nobody is under the delusion that there is a perfect candidate….”
Obviously you are not but I submit that some are. No reason to argue the point however.
Dr. Paul could defeat Obama/Biden if he chooses his running mate wisely. I don’t see him winning the nomination however. Neither Mrs. Bachmann nor Mr. Cain will be able to win the general election. It breaks my heart as I would dearly love to see Mr. Cain as POTUS.
If you are serious about voting for Obama, well that is your right of course. I hope you can live with that decision.

In addition to his trying to steal Texans’ land to build the TTC, he also tried to force parents to give their little girls the HPV shot, even if they were trying to teach them not to have intercourse before getting married. Why shouldn’t a shot be up to the parents. Lets you know what he thinks government’s role is: to run your life.

Posted on May 27, 2011 at 2:55pmYes, I’ve been posting this on here the last couple of days. I’m also a Texan and yes, I like Perry a lot. He’s a real Conservative and in my opinion, happy with what he’s done; however, I don’t know every little thing and not much about his past. He’s “fearless” when it comes to being independent, etc.& hates “big govn’t” but I’m somewhat skeptical of him being too much “politician” as someone else said. Don’t worry, if he runs, you’ll be hearing much. All I know is he is probably one of the few the Dems really fear and don’t want to run, bc he is a sollid Conservative & Rush said as much today also. He also mentioned Sarah Palin & I agree. We’ll see…………..

No. Stand up tall, say there are problems and offer some darn solutions. I’d vote for someone, anyone, if they had the guts to say that and a realistic plan to back it up.

Posted on May 27, 2011 at 2:58pmAs another Texan I know some of Perry. I think the biggest criticism you’ll hear about him was that he briefly supported the Trans-Texas Coridor (super highway to connect Mexico, U.S. and Canada allowing trucks to move freely without going through customs/border check.) Which would have also required the government to seize quite a bit of private land to build this highway. He quickly backed off though once all of Texas cried outrage over the idea.
Other then that he’s been a great Governor in my opinion.
Revere1: I also am more interested in Palin to run for President but I’d be all for Perry jumping in. He’s been a big supporter of getting our state rights back.

He certianly understands the border problem and who is crossing and in how many numbers. Beyond that his state has done really well under his economic leadership, they have created more jobs in Texas during the last several years than in any other state in the country, the comparision is lopsided, while the rest of the country has lost jobs texas has been able to sustain a strong economy LIke most Southern Politicians he is not afraid to speak his mind, after being snubbed by Obama during the oil spill, he has pretty much written Obama off and not been afraid to say so..
