Texas Mayor in Hot Water After Calling Latino Lawmakers a ‘Bunch of Mexicans’

Robert Cluck, the mayor of Arlington, TX, might have accidentally stuck his boot in his mouth recently when, in idle conversation with a local council member, he referred to that member’s constituents as “a bunch of Mexicans.” The Huffington Post caught this bizarre story:

The Texas mayor approached city council member Robert Rivera outside his office on Feb. 7 in the presence of other city staff to question whether Rivera planned on attending an evening city council meeting, according to FOX 4 Local News.[...]

Cluck questioned whether Rivera — the only Hispanic council member — would be skipping the council meeting, to which Rivera explained that he would be attending the “Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Meeting” instead.

The mayor allegedly responded by saying, “Oh, a bunch of Mexicans.”

At this point, according to the complaint, [David Crow, the president of Arlington Professional Firefighters] said, “I don’t think you can say that.”

Interestingly, even though Rivera was the person the remark was addressed to, he did not file the complaint. Nor is it known who did, beyond the fact that they’re an employee of the City Council. A video report from Dallas-Fort Worth’s Fox 4 shows that Rivera, in fact, doesn’t seem to care about the comment, which Mayor Cluck says he can’t even recall saying:

“Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Meeting”???? WHAT THE HECK IS THAT???? Obviously they have chosen to isolate themselves…
When other ethnic groups came over here..Italians, Irish…they felt blessed to be here..they didn’t try to change America into the hell hole they had left behind…MEXICANS/LATINOS ARE DIFFERENT.. They appear to come to this country and do their best to turn America into their own mud hole..in general..
“Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Meeting”???? Do they have a Black Elected and APpointed Officials Meeting??.
..How about an AMERICAN ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIAL MEETING?
      Just so much BS

I don‘t see why you can’t say that. They can call white Americans anything they want.

Our REAL problem “IS” that NO ONE wants to be civil these days. I don’t mind calling a spade a spade. Facts are facts. But when we can’t even communicate on a one on one basis with mutual respect, we have lost control of society.

Our politicians are leading this “uncivil” discourse. Leadership “IS” a difficult burden for those who struggle with the skill. Those who possess the skill and embrace the burden with relish are the best leaders. We have NONE, today.

Yeah, I‘m sure they felt so grateful when they came here and were told that they weren’t welcome in shops or in certain neighborhoods because of their ethnicity. The main complaint people had about them? That they wouldn’t assimilate. Sound familiar?

“No Irish Need Apply” and “No Blacks, No Dogs, No Irish’. There was a time when you would see these signs in the windows of businesses.

I have a feeling that the complaint was filed by that David Crow (who I would be willing to bet is one of those liberal wackos). What the mayor needs to do is start clamping down and charging ANY mexican who says that they are mexican-American, every single time that they use that word. I would also monitor that David Crow’s language, remember everything like I made my brain a tape recorder. If anyone doesn’t like being called what they are then they can quit crying for special attention because they are that.

For all you people that don’t know any better: a Latino is someone of Hispanic heritage. A Latino can be of any race or combination of races: White/Caucasian, Black/African American, Asian, Native American, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander American, or two or more races. They can ORIGINATE from 21 countries including this one. Those countries are on three continents including Europe. Many Latinos (Spaniard/Americans) have roots in this country that predate the Mayflower. They have a bit of a chip on their shoulder for people calling them Mexicans.

I know only two(2) words of Latin: adsume=helo; and salway=goodby…so…salway!! fake people. I was in “Latin” class in highschool for about one(1) week…learned 2-words…then dropped-out for a “study-hall”. In Latin class they were supposed to learn how to speak latin…very hard…but, not to learn their original writing/printing(1/2 of a Duh!). The people whom spoke Latin did not even live where “they-latinos” live-now.

@RabidPatriot Latino is someone with Hispanic, Italian, French, or Portuguese heritage, e.g.
descendant of white southern Europeans. The fact that other races or ethnicities have adopted the word doesn’t matter. American blacks, though having English last names and speaking English, are not Anglo-Saxon or British, or descendant from them. Indigenous people from Latin countries, though having Spanish last names and speaking Spanish, are not Hispanic or Latin. The word Latino today has been corrupted to include a variety of persons, as you have stated, though the word never originally pertained to them. Of course, Latino today also refers to those people living in Latin Nations south of the US border, ergo, anyone born in those countries are known as Latinos. Unlike America, some of these Latin people, who settled the Americas, mixed with other races and ethnicities, wherefore the confusion today.

The Portuguese and Brazilian people are not officially considered Latino because they speak Portuguese. Originally, it was a speaker of any Latin based romance language and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. The religious aspect was the main reason for the creation of the term to separate them from Protestants.

      Posted on March 12, 2012 at 6:51pm

Holder was involved with the congressional investigation of Waco TX, along with Joe Biden, the raid that the ATF led under Bill Clinton. Clinton later passed the Assault Weapons Ban (prohibiting semi-auto rifles). During Clinton’s administration free school zones were created, and a few other gun control laws were passed. Guess who‘s in Obama’s administration today? Biden, Holder, and Hilary Clinton. The same old crew. Hilary Clinton is now on a crusade with the UN to sign a Small Arms International Treaty to help disarm “terrorists”. However, the DHS and Napolitiano have labeled US Citizens, civilians, “domestic terrorists”. Biden called TEA partiers “domestic terrorists”. Pelosi called us Conservatives “extremists” and “Nazis”. Holder was the one supervising the ATF during the Fast and Furious gun scandal. Prior to that exposure, Hilary Clinton and Obama were blaming Americans for the illegal gun trafficking in Mexico. After the scandal came to light they hushed up.

And now we have a “LATINO Elected and Appointed Officials Meeting” and they think there isn’t any voter fraud going on? Last time I checked, America isn’t a Latin nation.

Case in point when Jesus cast the demon out of the young boy who was brought to Jesus by his father, and the boy was convulsing while foaming at the mouth. And the disciples asked Jesus why themselves could not cast out the demon, and Jesus said because it requires prayer to make “His” come out. Jesus didn’t cast out a demon like in the movies, the boy was behaving like a beast, and Jesus caused the boy to suppress the beast-side, which brought out “His” (“His”, is after the lord) own.
