WASHINGTON (AP) — Wealthy Republican donor Bob Perry has contributed $7 million to American Crossroads, making him the top donor to one of the pre-eminent groups helping candidates make a run at GOP control of Congress.
The Texas homebuilder donated the money over the past six weeks, according to reports that American Crossroads planned to file with the Federal Election Commission.
Overall, American Crossroads reports show a total fundraising of $15 million over 43 days. Perry gained national attention in 2004 for helping finance Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and its attacks on Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.
American Crossroads is affiliated with Crossroads GPS, a nonprofit tax-exempt group that is also raising millions of dollars for political ads but does not have to disclose its donors.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Democratic Party official says the Democratic National Committee raised $17 million in September and entered the final weeks of the election campaign with $13.2 million in the bank.
The official said the national party also raised $11.1 million in the first 13 days of October. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the totals had not yet been filed officially with the Federal Election Commission.
The DNC has consistently outraised the Republican National Committee, providing a financial bulwark for Democrats as they face a difficult midterm election.
The RNC was expected to report raising $9.7 million for September. Republican-allied groups have made up for weak party fundraising, collecting money in unlimited amounts and spending it in key battleground races.

Posted on October 20, 2010 at 9:29pmDude, we had no internal NORAD defense since Jimmy Carter dismantled it in the late 70′s. The only radars were short range airport radars not linked to NORAD. The outer perimeter had coverage, but that was not where they came from. They knew if they turned off their SIF transponders, the planes would become “invisible” to NORAD. Only AWACS aircraft could have seen them and the magnitude of air traffic made it finding a needle in a hay stack. Actually we had more NORAD officials in place than usual because of an exercise, not less. The USAF/NORAD at that time did not identify aircraft within US airspace, that was the job of the FAA. There were a couple of AWACS airborne, but they were on a training mission and at the time, data links were primative between NORAD and AWACS. How do I know this? Because I was there. It is crazy to think that so many people would keep such a secret if it were a secret plot because too many people would have been involved and the operation that you talk about was mass murder. Give me a break.

I hate to have to do this, but I can’t stand misinformation / ignorance, no matter which side of a debate it is on.
The debate isn’t over “that” steel melts. It’s the temperature at which it melts. Do you have any idea how much energy and temperature it takes to turn steel to liquid?
You can watch videos of firefighters- those men and women who ran inside the towers at risk of death- talking about seeing rivulets of molten metal running down I-beams inside the stairwells. Not “sagging girders”. Glowing, molten metal running like water.
You can’t deny this fact. Face it: Credible professionals, experts in the field of fire and thermodynamics, saw masses of free-flowing molten metal. You can also see it pouring out of the side of the towers before they fell. Bright yellow, molten metal… in broad daylight. It was running like water, not oozing. That is incredibly hot. It requires a massive amount of energy in a concentrated area for a long period of time for this to occur. Have you ever seen an electric arc furnace? Just go to a foundry and ask some questions. Look at their electric bills. Jet fuel and office furniture CANNOT liquify steel. Sorry.
I just can’t stand non-arguments… please, learn what the arguments are before trying to take them on. To think people don’t know how steel (not “steal”, by the way) is made is an insult to their intelligence.
In any case: Why is thermite such a hard thing for you to grasp? Do you even know what it’s made of? Why don’t you find out? It’s not like C4 or semtex. It’s not going to send up red flags through normal detection methods. Go and find out what it’s made of, and see if you can take any of those components, together or separate, into a building undetected. I guarantee you will have no problem. You’ve probably done it inadvertently many times, with at least 3 components.
Is it really so hard for you to believe that some could have been smuggled in and placed at key points to ensure collapse? A communist walked into the White House in broad daylight, and you think it’s impossible for a few terrorists to infiltrate one of the many corporations housed in those buildings over the months prior to 9/11 and plant some thermite on key girders?
You know, not every question about 9/11 leads back to “BUSH DID IT!” Half of the 9/11 commission still has questions. Don’t be such a tool. Questioning 9/11 does not make you a “truther”. It makes you a responsible patriot.

Now, I can’t say I like my in-laws at all, but I do believe them when they say they saw this happen. Mainly because they immediately called my husband to hysterically tell him what they had just witnessed.
As for the laughable theory that explosives brought down the buildings let me ask you this. How long would it take for that amount of explosives to be placed in the walls of the buildings? And I have to assume it would be put inside the walls because I’m pretty sure the workers would get a tad suspicious if they saw wires and explosives on the walls next to their cubicles. So let’s say some crack teams did this. They would have to sneak in at night after everyone is gone, cut holes in the drywall, drill holes into the concrete posts, pack in the explosives, run wires through the ceilings and walls to connect everything, patch the holes, patch the drywall and then repaint all the walls the exact color so no one would notice anything. Now considering the second plane hit where there is a trading floor, I can tell you positively – since I have worked on trading floors – that they are staffed around the clock by at least a couple of people. Furthermore, no manager is going to let his precious trading staff be interrupted by workers cutting holes in the walls unless they have full knowledge of why it needs to be done. I’m going to stop here because at this point I want you to tell me how that amount of explosives are going to be hidden in the walls in those offices without anyone being the wiser. If you can come up with a convincing scenario then perhaps you might not sound like such a crackpot.

I’ll give it a shot:
Radical Islamic maintenance workers / contractors / office personnel were hired over time, possibly as part of “Muslim outreach”, and waived through security checks due to New York’s infamous “political correctness” and “religious tolerance”. They were either recruited or already working for Al-Qaeda. Maybe it only took one person.
Perhaps one even declared America the “great satan” during their interview and vowed to wage jihad, in which case they were probably given special access or promotions by sweaty-palmed liberal appeasers, as in Fort Hood.
(I told you I’d make this credible)
Said workers entered the buildings every day, briefcases / duffel bags / tool boxes in hand. They went to their respective work areas and took out 5lb containers of thermite (powdered metals) and duct taped them atop key support girders at the central core, at or below specific floors but generally wherever was convenient, using $1.00 packets of sparklers as self-igniting fuses. They then went about their legitimate daily routines.
Planes (possibly laden with improvised explosives by radicalized luggage handlers, but most likely not) were then flown into the buildings, severely damaging them and sending vaporized aviation kerosene in all directions, igniting several floors simultaneously. Unfortunately, the fuel would be mostly spent in the initial fireballs instead of slowly burning in pools and weakening the central core, but hopefully the kinetic energy alone would be enough to cause the collapse. In the event the core survived (which was likely considering while aircraft are built incredibly strong, they are incredibly light) the thermite would start doing its job… igniting in a silent, irreversible reaction, sending 3000 degree molten iron slicing through the weakened remains of the building’s backbone, beam by beam. The bright white smoke would go unnoticed amidst all the burning office furniture…
Hopefully none would pour out in broad daylight and be taped for millions to see:

Once the structure was weakened to the breaking point, perhaps thanks largely to the thermite, perhaps not, its own mass would finish the job through progressive collapse. The entire upper section would drop 12 feet, slamming into the already weakened floor beneath, severing it instantly. With each floor, more mass was added. It built up speed and energy, using the central column as a guiderail. No timed explosions necessary… no explosive residue, no big booms. Just a mixture of metals already in abundance amidst the debris, getting obliterated on the way. Straight down it would come, from its sheer mass, collapsing into its own footprint due to the fact that when dealing with such an immense mass, the path of least resistance is straight down no matter what is in the way. The only witnesses to the flowing metal would be firefighters on their way up, but hopefully they would die trying to save their fellow kāfir.

It’s all just coincidence that 9/11 led directly to almost all of the structure that Obama, Sunstein, Holdren, Strong, Soros, and everyone else needs to put us all in our places. Lucky them, huh? Also, what a massive coincidence that out of the millions of people in America, that exact group of people were the ones organized and waiting with a massive media campaign with all the special interest bills pre-written and ready to go, tying into the existing framework perfectly… almost as if it was a modular design from the beginning.

Sure, the Fed wants to destroy the currency, the family, your sovereignty, freedom, right to life, property, and everything else, but they’d never knock down a couple of buildings to take over the planet.

To this day my wife is amazed that when we saw the second tower get hit on TV I immediately blurted out that “one of the towers would collapse soon”. I said this because I knew how these buildings were constructed and I knew what was happening in the center of at least one of the buildings. Unfortunately, both came down.

While you’re at it, trust National Geographic to tell you about the 9/12 rally and the IPCC to tell you about global warming. See what the respected establishment “experts” have to say.
Popular Mechanics is just another mainstream publication. Stray away from the accepted angle, and you’re done for. Of course they “debunked” the 9/11 conspiracy… but have you tried to debunk their debunking? It‘s so easy it’s insulting. I did it on the fly the first time I read it, without having to look up anything. It’s the equivalent of a NAACP “report” on Tea Party racism. Most of what they tackle is irrelevant in the long run anyway; it’s all *how* the buildings fell, not *why*.
The *how* argument is called misdirection… controlling the argument. Did you notice how fast it cropped up, and how much the media pimped and mocked it? Haven’t you learned enough about social engineering yet from listening to Glenn? People were used, much like the birther tactic. Discredit them early on, so when they start to figure it out it’s too late; they are already “crazy”.
You can’t deny that 9/11 was used as a catalyst for global government. Why not look into it more? It‘s apparent to me that you’re getting your information wholesale, from discredited sources. You aren’t doing your own research, or looking at the opposition. I have gone meticulously through information on both sides, and have come to the conclusion that 9/11 was “nudged” into reality by corporate interests. Most of it is common sense and law of averages. Delve into both sides, man. I can tell you haven’t.
As for “the documentary”: You’re talking about the tip of the iceberg, here. First, that documentary was very early on. So much more has come out since then. Even the official 9/11 commission members have major issues with the final report. Much was omitted, and many things go unexplained. There are also several blatant contradictions… why don’t you ask me what they are? Maybe I could point you to recently released video (thanks to a court battle) that proves the 9/11 commission deliberately avoided certain questions.
Either do your own research or sit down, man. Your comment doesn’t have any weight behind it. I see comments like it all the time from leftists, in regards to Obama. You do too;

I’m a NASA structural engineer at the Kennedy Space Center so I know a thing or two about math and engineering. I‘ll address one of the main technical ’proofs’ that have been peddled here.

To those who claim jet fuel cannot melt steel, you’re right. The problem with your logic is that in the setting of 9/11 it didn’t have to. The columns at those heights were greatly overloaded because many of them were blown out by the initial impact. The remaining columns were then torched for an hour until they were red hot. Red hot steel is substantially weaker than cool steel. The thousands of *tonnes* being supported by the weakened columns eventually loaded them to failure. This is known as thermally-induced creep followed by buckling. When the columns on the impact floors gave out, the top sections of the building literally fell onto the lower floors.
What follows happens over milliseconds. The floor below is suddenly tasked with holding up a load far higher than it was designed for. It fails. The same thing happens to the floor below it, and the floor below it, and so on until 2 WTC is on the ground. The dust/mass argument you tried is inane because the drywall, siding, etc would be vaporized by the subsequent impacts resulting in much of the dust.
Not to mention that you need almost 5 pounds of thermite to burn through an engine block, let alone a structural support column in a major skyscraper.
And you would have needed professionals to install the devices in a clandestine manner in office buildings that never actually slept.
And that you would have seen the messy aftermath of a thermite cut at later dates.
And that what sounded like explosions were most likely the first columns giving out before the cascade failure took place. I’ve been party to many a metallic failure test. They make extremely loud snapping noises when they break. The bigger they are, the louder they are. And at that size they will sound a lot like an explosion.
As a NASA rocket scientist, I’ve done my fair share of moon-landing defense so to all those who think this is a conspiracy, do your worst.

Watch this:
The elevator shafts don’t go the length of the building… they are in 3 sections, staggered. The lifts were also stuck, blocking the shafts (as mentioned by rescue crews and shown by footage shot during a coincidental firefighter documentary) and you can see smoke lazily billowing OUT several floors below, not being sucked in as you would expect.
Watch the videos, and you can clearly see the fires being fed with air from the lower 6 floors. Also, watch video taken from inside the buildings. The stairwells are far more open than the elevator shafts, and smoke / dust is hanging more or less still. There was no need to draw it all the way up there, as the gaping holes in the building were more than sufficient to feed it. Just watch the hours of footage, inside and out.
The molten metal was pouring from the lower part of the gash where the air was coming in, not up near the top where the fire was being drawn. Look at how fluid it is too… that’s not from passive airflow. Also, pure oxygen is used in foundries (although a lot of processes avoid it as it oxidizes steel) but air was feeding this fire, which is only ~20% oxygen.
And before you say it’s aluminum… well, it doesn’t glow like that. It’s more like lead. Just look at how pathetic the NIST report is at explaining this:
“NIST concluded that the source of the molten material was aluminum alloys from the aircraft, since these are known to melt between 475 degrees Celsius and 640 degrees Celsius (depending on the particular alloy), well below the expected temperatures (about 1,000 degrees Celsius) in the vicinity of the fires. Aluminum is not expected to ignite at normal fire temperatures and there is no visual indication that the material flowing from the tower was burning. Pure liquid aluminum would be expected to appear silvery. However, the molten metal was very likely mixed with large amounts of hot, partially burned, solid organic materials (e.g., furniture, carpets, partitions and computers) which can display an orange glow, much like logs burning in a fireplace. The apparent color also would have been affected by **** formation on the surface.”
Look at the video… does that look like embers from burnt carpet and plastics to you? How about ****? You can watch it break apart into droplets… **** would be obvious, but it’s not the case. It is glowing right the way through. Also, **** is cooler than the rest of the liquid, so I don’t know what they are trying to prove here. That explanation is laughable. It’s even been reconstructed and looks nothing like that. It looks like molten aluminum with bits of crap in it. Go and read the NIST report. It’s akin to “peer-reviewed” literature from the IPCC. It’s insulting.
Anyway, see that? We managed to argue process, not motive or evidence for one… we got nowhere. Let‘s talk about Obama’s birth certificate next.
The fact is, America‘s role in globalization wouldn’t be possible without 9/11, and neither would any of Cass Sunstein’s plans, attacks on patriots, or overbearing surveillance of the population.
Once again, until it sinks in: Barack Obama, the president of the United States, started his political career in the living room of a man who bombed the Pentagon.

Because of the 9/11 attacks, our entire country has changed…we have lost untold liberties, which we will NEVER REGAIN…thousands of young men and women were/are being sent to fight and die in hell’s half acre half way around the world and some how we are just supposed to accept the governments explanation as to the reasons for this…and when you read the final 9/11 report, it falls seriously short of answering many of the questions posed by the a & e on their site…they make a very convincing argument as to dozens of unanswered, very rational questions…I feel that anything that was bad enough to force us to FORFEIT our God Given Freedoms (the Patriot Act)…is certainly worth my knowing EVERYTHING that is my right as an American citizen to know…Soooo, rather than make fun of your concerns Paul, as some people seem to like to do, I simply accept the fact that you are a loyal patriot and feel the same love for this country that I do and I feel we are all certainly entitled to a more thorough investigation and report…AND THE FACT THAT 9 YEARS LATER…WE STILL HAVEN’T FINISHED OUR MEMORIAL TO OUR SLAIN CITIZENRY…tells me that I’d better be questioning EVERYTHING that is going on…our enemies are everywhere…even in Congress and the WH…scary times!

Can I assume then that you have looked at the findings and questions of the 1000 scientists who disgree with you? Have you talked to them about your evidence/theory? What did they say to you? Did they just dismiss you like you seem to be doing here?
Are you claiming that all the architects, structural engineers, etc. who originally put up the building were criminally negligent: that they didn’t take into consideration that an airplane might hit the building? Do you in your engineering work build in special safety into your structures or just build minimum structural safety?
I’m NOT trying to mock or insult you. My training is in the behavior science field as applied to business. I seem, however, more willing to take the findings of 1000 professionals than you are. Am I wrong in doing that? If so, why?

I know if they were to analyze the footage and apply their knowledge and common sense to the problem they would arrive at pretty much the same conclusion that I did, and countless other scientists and engineers have. Again, most of these people aren’t stupid, they’re just approaching the problem with preconceived notions of what is right/wrong and they draw conclusions in such a way to prove themselves right.
As for the structural standards, KSC is loaded to the gills with standards to follow. When you’re dealing with human beings riding barely contained explosions with the power of a nuclear bomb, you can’t be careful enough around the vehicle. The twin towers didn’t have that problem. I’m not calling them negligent in not designing for aircraft strike because they did. A study was done and recommendations were made for the most common commercial airliner of its day (1970′s), the Boeing 707 – much, much smaller than the 757 and 767 that hit the towers. If I’m not mistaken, they mainly considered the impact and the not the fire afterwards. It was a combination of both that brought the towers down.
