‘That Doesn’t Make Sense’: Obama Donor Infuriated by President’s Rhetoric Speaks Out

Since the 2012 campaign began in earnest, the Obama campaign has tried to portray itself as the victim of a powerful, wealthy Republican opponent whose success renders him hopelessly out of touch with normal Americans, and who cannot possibly be seen as a viable alternative to the President precisely because he is so out of touch. They have also claimed that they are speaking truth to power and must be seen as a small, courageous band trying to keep government in the hands of the people and out of the mitts of the greedy, rich and powerful.

There’s just one problem. When you portray yourself as the defender of the poor and scourge of the rich, it’s rather hard to get donations from the people who can most afford to help finance an election, considering that those people are themselves rich. This fact has been driving away Obama donors consistently since the President began his drumbeat of class baiting, and now even some of his most loyal financial supporters are starting to get sick of it. Fox Nation brings us this deeply ironic, entertaining story:

Millionaire developer R. Donahue Peebles  -– a 52-year-old D.C. native  whose company website touts The Peebles Corp. as “the country’s largest African Americanreal estate development company,” is a top fundraiser for President Barack Obama…raising between $100K and $200K for this reelection.

Major Obama Donor R Donahue Peebles Calls Out President Obama For Class Warfare Rhetoric

R. Donahue Peebles

But in a 20-minute conversation with HuffPost Monday, Peebles blasted Obama’s campaign messaging. He said, as he told other press outlets, that his frustrationwas sparked by receiving an email from the DNC that mocked Romney as“out of touch” for having a boat that fit 12 people, accompanied by a picture of the Republican presumptive nominee on vacation.[...]

“What I get concerned about is the message from the Obama campaign that we only want someone who has not been successful to run for president. What do we want here? You can’t be successful and run the country? We don’t want somebody who has been successful to run it? That doesn’t make sense,” Peebles said.[...]

“So I look at that and I see that those things are becoming offensive to some of his strongest supporters, financially.”It would be unrealistic to think that that kind of thing would not impact the enthusiasm for those who are supportive of the president, financially, and certainly would turn off others who were on the fence to say, ‘You know, what the heck with it. I’m done,’” Peebles continued. “And they go on to Romney.”[...]

“I’m so tired of hearing that the rich are not paying their fair share of taxes. Yeah we are,” Peebles said. “The super vast majority of wealthy Americans do not wake up every day and say, ‘Let’s see how we can pay less than our fair share of taxes.’ They say, ‘We’re going to follow the law and we’re going to hire some good accountants to tellus how to do it. And we’re going to pay no more or no less than ourfair share.’”So to say that wealthy individuals are not paying their fair is unfair and delusional,” he said. “So what should be said is that the wealthy Americans should have their tax rates raised because we need more money. Now by the way, if they got all these tax raises it still wouldn’t put a dent in the national debt.”

There’s more like this, and you can feel free to read the rest of you click the link above to see Peebles’ epic rant. For now, we’re beginning to wonder how long it will take before the Obama administration figures out they have a problem with rich people – not just the supposed greedy, nasty ones, but any rich person who doesn‘t like their hard work questioned by people who probably haven’t worked as hard in a less demanding environment.

Mr Peebles and his friends are making the mistake of expecting logic from Sweet Old Barack. He will twist the truth to appeal to what he considers his base. H even has Joker Joe Bite me saying that the Bidens are Middle Class.
Sweet Old Barack wants the money and will tell them behind closed doors that he is really on their side.
The whole administration is so envolved in behind the scenes manuvering to subvert the constitution and make Sweet Ol Barack king, that they will say anything to get reelected, while doing the opposite.

Why should the elites (whoever they are) or anyone else have to sacrifice? Sacrifice is not something the government can ask. The government orders and takes. The idea that Obama wants the wealthy to sacrifice is ludicrous. If he can get the congress to agree to tax hikes then go for it. But call it TAXING and not SACRIFICE and call it SPENDING and not INVESTMENTS. I invest in Fidelity, I spend money on vacation, a new chair, a dvd, a cowboy poetry festival, organized crime museum, etc etc.

I hope they do. I heard Romney’s speech to the NAACP today and I was very impressed. They applauded him many times except he was booed when he said he’d repeal Obamacare. But Romney took that in stride and got more positive than negative response. Good for him! He did not pander but offered respect and mostly got the same in return. Can’t wait to hear what that nasty piece of work Biden will berate Romney with tomorrow. There will be a clear choice to make because there will be a side by side comparison between the two and it is pretty

I agree. We need to just quit using the abbreviation and go the full name to remove confusion. That way it would be harder critics to mock.

It would be hard slam. Make them say it as they attack us. The public would respond as well if they mocking Americans who don’t want taxes increased.

Make them say the full name. The left is all about how to package a message better their argument. We need to do the same. Appearances matter. We already know as civil and they’re still attacking us so we fight back through verbiage with the same message. We already have the fact on are side.

Finaly. Someone with money speaks out. It’s about time. I‘ve been wondering for a long time now why it is that Obama continues to demean anyone that’s rich and succesful and yet they keep sending him money. Since Obama has become president he’s called me a racist, a bigot, lazy, uneducated, an extremist, violent and out of touch. And I’m not anywhere close to being rich. What‘s even more ironic is that while he’s busy tearing me down, he also claims to be standing up for people like me. Seems like nobody’s on his level. Wouldn’t it be great if all the rich people quit donating to his campaign and he had to depend on all the welfare parasites to support it? Maybe he could try fueling up Air Force One with food stamps instead of using everyone elses money.
Barack Obama’s number one problem is the mouth of Barack Obama. He doesn’t know when to keep it shut.

The prosperous in this country… or “the rich,” according to the liberals, are a lot smarter than most people think. They became prosperous because they ARE smart, and they’ve watched their stocks and real estate fall victim to a blowhard phony who knew nothing about the economy. They’ve always watched the economy with a practiced cautious eye. But even while the Republicans might have also cost them some money, the GOP never demonized them. Obama has. And the prosperous long ago wrote him off… they just never expected his hypocritical rhetoric, like the rest of us did. The fact that only one wealthy American, black or otherwise, has the courage to speak the truth is only the beginning. Many more are simply standing by eagerly with their ballots.
