‘The Barney Shuffle’: Rep. Frank’s Opponent Debuts Ambitious Viral Dance Video (With Head Explosion)

You have to hand it to Sean Bielat. He is swinging for the electoral fences. The New York Times devoted an entire piece to his video campaign to defeat Barney Frank:
Representative Barney Frank was dancing around the issues ā first doing a version of the Running Man, then the Sprinkler, then a disco boogie.
Although in this case, Mr. Frank was actually a dance instructor named Kira who was dressed in a makeshift fat suit, with a suit and tie on over that, pretending to be the Massachusetts Democrat and powerful committee chairman as she sweated and shimmied her way across a green screen in a Boston-area production studio.
Here’s how it turned out:
The video was produced by the guy who did the now legendary Dale Peterson video from the campaign for agriculture commissioner in Alabama.
“The Barney Shuffle” is certainly engaging, and you can quibble about whether Bielat’s message gets lost in the, er, “Shuffle,” but the energy behind an ad like this is why Barney Frank is growing increasingly concerned.
The New York Times piece even features a “making of” video:

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 5:38amLove it !! This guy is fantastic. Wish he had time to make more spots before election time. We get to laugh at the same time as we hear the ‘message’. Don’t worry about Barney………if he wins the right will send him on a long vacation for ethics charges.

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 4:45amThere is no truth, honesty, integrity,or honor in the Democrat party. I have watched and studied them since high school. Since Jackson ,they have been the party of treason! People who don’t believe in God will believe anything else!

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 4:09amWhy is a over-the-top commercial necessary to get people to vote against this guy? He’s an extremely arrogant SOB who never admits a mistake, avoids responsibility like the plague, is openly contemptuous of his constituents, and the idiotic regulations he pushed through are mainly responsible for the implosion of the housing market that led to our economic collapse. It can’t be his charm or good looks that appeals to people, so all I can figure is he sold his soul to the devil.

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 3:26amI‘m sure there are millions of people who have lost their savings and retirement due to Frank’s corrupt dealings with Fanny & Freddie and beyond, who would be too tickled to see Barney’s head explode. It is amazing to me that people from around the world are not calling for his head on a platter.

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 2:26amI have to admit that was funny. Barney never looked so good. Political ads are moving into technology just like everything else. I just wish that politicians would run on their achievements or lack of so the American people could decide which candidate they believe in. They should be held accountable to the truth and should be required to back their statements with facts. They also should be fined if they falsely accuse any opponent. We the people, deserve the truth. Our politicians should not have special privileges or be placed on a higher level than those they represent. They are sworn in and take an oath to uphold our Constitution on the behalf of the American people. Our voices have to be heard and not ignored. While the ad was funny, I would prefer an ad that allows me to make my decision based on facts instead of comedy. Unfortunately these ads seem to attract a broader audience.

You know Texas is Baja Oklahoma. We grew up in Eagletown, Oklahoma, which is smack dab in the southeast corner of Oklahoma, just a handful of mule miles above the Red River. My husband and I lived in Texas for time, great state, great people.
This is our model 94 Winchester given to me by my grandpa when I was old enough to aim and shoot right. Suppose I was around seven or eight years old. This rifle is at least a hundred years old, still shoots straight and true.

MAX JONES flirts which I enjoy, “Iād definitely find out a bit more about you.”

Posted on October 22, 2010 at 7:59amWRONG!!!! This ad is innovative and to the point. Barney has danced his way around the real problems way too long. He is on record as pushing Freddy and Fannie to loan to people who could not afford housing. He is one of the main causes of the collapse of the housing market. OH, yeah, there was greed at every level but without pressure from Washington and especially Barney. The situation would not have been nearly as bad had Congress, led by Barney, had not interfered with the banking industry. The voters of Mass. need to vote to dance Barney into retirement.

Posted on October 24, 2010 at 9:55pmReaganer: From their perspective he is smarter. Ends justify the means. To lie, buffoon, what-have-you, for “the cause” is genius. To be honest and thoughtful in opposition is stupid. Sort of a cultish, self-righteous, fervent delusion thing. More proof that secularism is a religion.
