In July, the world’s longest domino wall and a 3D pyramid with the highest density of bricks were erected in a “Journey Around the World” domino quest to claim two Guinness titles.
The team from Sinners Domino Production used 31,405 dominoes on its 98-foot-5-inch wall. The pyramid used 13,486 dominoes. These are just two features though in the 128,000 brick project.
All was constructed in the Wilhelm-Lückert Gymnasium in Büdingen, Germany. But with dominoes, no matter how long or painstakingly the tiles are put into place, what goes up, must get knocked down.
With the theme “Falling Into the Past: Journey Around the World,” the dominoes were set up in ways to represent different countries and their history. Some of the different structures built included a ying & yang symbol, Nelson Mandela and the Colosseum.

Check out the video (Note: It is well worth holding out to 6:40 when they accomplish an impressive task):
According to Sinners Domino Production’s Facebook page (via Google Translate), two records were confirmed by Guinness from the July 6 event. These were for longest domino wall and most dominoes toppled in a 3D pyramid.
On Facebook they also report knocking over 127,141 dominoes, about 97.87 percent of all the tiles set up. The outline of the Tower Bridge model and some other small stacks were not toppled properly.
After watching this, one has to ask, did they do a practice round and set the whole thing back up again?

Oh, I noticed their dig at the USA too. Screw Germany! Like the Euro is doing so great these days. How many of their countries are bankrupt now in the EU?
I would like to see an American team break the domino record and have a special set up just for Germany to remind them of their glorious contribution to world history.

Posted on August 27, 2012 at 4:45pmDon’t worry, even the American flag can be on the ground, but if it becomes soiled or dirty, it must be washed. If it is damaged beyond repair, it should be privately destroyed. But I did like the symbolism of the countries falling in order leaving only rubble behind…very astute of the builders.
Report Post »grayling646
Posted on August 27, 2012 at 9:22pmThis is all I could find on trustworthy sites such as The American Legion although every site I checked said the same. I could find nothing which says it’s OK to touch the ground or lay on the ground as long as you wash it if it gets soiled.
“The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.”

I didn’t know some of the flags but, I saw the fall of China, the USA, the US dollar, Wall Street, the Pyramids, the Great Wall, the Colosseum in Rome and many other things…. “falling.
There was only one thing that was raised…. a Flag. Does anyone know which Country that flag was from?
